FIA3 ART AS CODE Troy H

Reflective Statement ◦ My focus for my folio was through exploring ‘art as code’. I explored the different uses of color and media in class. For the folio, I have chosen the most successful ones to be able to show my divergent thinking, use of media, and idea development. It includes works made with different types of media and color. I used the inquiry learning model to guide me. I tried to question the audience by not giving them the whole context behind my work to let them perceive it differently. I am trying to communicate how small we really are when compared to the universe, and yet we have such a diverse environment that we live in. This was shown by having a kangaroo since the kangaroo is only found in Australia, which is a place that I personally. The use of color was used to have a larger emphasis on how every color is used in the universe and that space is black and baron. This artwork was create for people to have their own personal opinion and belief on the artwork and it’s personal heritage.

Supporting Evidence • My artwork responds to my personal things that I find symbolic, I went through my photos on my phone to see what I do a lot that I personally connect to so I chose NRL teams. I created the artwork using twine and paper cut outs of my most favorited teams, I attached them all together. To an artwork that responded in the wind. Each team represented my favorited teams as I grew up from Gold coast Titans to Brisbane Broncos. The artwork is 3 dimensional because it can respond to the wind.

ART AS CODE HOW WE SEE COLOR

Supporting Evidence ◦ My artwork responded to how people today portray colour today, I decided to pick one colour that has lots of meaning but people don’t think about enough. I created the artwork by taking photos of red things ( Car, Pencil, Hat ) and cut them out then stuck them together to make one big red artwork. Each cut out showed I different way that red is being used. Creating an artwork of many different things all with the same colour, this is to show how colour influence meaning.

Experimental Artwork ◦ This artwork is in response to my family and I having two favorite teams, the ’Rabbitos’ and ‘Broncos’ . I choose to so this artwork because it is my families most favorite teams. I used simple colors to help the audience understand what I am trying to portray. In the middle of the artwork I have the NRL trophy this is also used to show that they two teams are fighting to win.

Experimental artwork My artwork responded to how gender specific items and colours have changed over time. I had decided to have two separate artworks one of a house maid and one of a "tradie", to show how times have changed what woman can do today. To create the artwork I researched what woman mostly did in the past and what they can do now. The artwork together shows how much better life is today for all people.
