Local people are being urged to get involved in a charity fundraising event Saturday July 8th hosted by Eventus22, a small-group personal training facility based in Bury St. Edmunds.

Gym members and trainers will be pushing a weightedsled the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles up and down the recently launched facilities on Moreton Hall. It’s all in support of charities chosen by two families within the Eventus22 community that have been devastated by the loss of a child.
Members and non-members are encouraged to attend between 7am and 7pm on the day, where there will also be live music, a bouncy castle, food and drinks and a raffle.
Organisers are also hoping for support from local businesses that can provide refreshments or raffle prizes, in return for a package of marketing support around the event on social media and with Eventus22 members.
A silent charity auction has already been held and the facility hopes to raise more than £2,000, which will be shared between The Isobel Sheppard Fund for Sarcoma UK and CP Teens. The charities were chosen by the families of 15-year-old Isobel Sheppard and 17-year-old Owen Colman, who both tragically passed away in December 2022.
James McLaren, owner of Eventus22, said: “We’re extremely grateful for all the donations being made by local businesses and individuals, now we’re looking for support in making this event the huge success it deserves to be.

“We believe that contributions from local businesses, whether in the form of gift hampers, gift cards or experience days, will make a significant impact on the money raised for the two charities. If you are able to contribute, please let us know by Friday 29th June via amy@ eventus22.fit and we will be happy to arrange a collection of any items.”
