B A C K G R O U N D The Beaumont is an independently-managed, privately-owned five-star boutique hotel that opened in September 2014. W H A T ’ S I T L I K E ? As I entered the lobby, it oozed quintessentially British opulence in an intimate setting. Enhancing the ambiance were Art Deco-inspired interiors and an Old World charm that struck a chord with the history buff in me. W H E R E I S I T ? Situated in the very
centre of Mayfair, the hotel is within walking distance of Oxford, Bond and Mount Streets; Grosvenor Square; Berkeley Square and Hyde Park. Heathrow Airport is 35 to 55 minutes away and Gatwick Airport is 55 to 90 minutes by road.
R O O M S I stayed in a beautiful Mayfair Suite affording picturesque views of Brown Hart Gardens. Subtle shades bedecked the suite, creating a minimalistic and calming vibe. However, an unmissable sense of grandeur came from the silks, mohair velvets, bronze detailing and rich artworks adoring the suite. name of ROOM by Antony Gormley, a 69 sqm one-bedroom abode, which doubles as a public work of art; The Terrace suite, a 91 sqm one-bedroom offering with a large private terrace; and The Roosevelt Suite, which can be extended to include five bedrooms (and has a huge terrace overlooking Mayfair).
