We pride ourselves on our support of the bike scene, and we develop our products to match the needs of riders, from our 2 and 4 stroke engine oils through to our bike cleaning care range. We are also proud to continue assisting local clubs and giving them the support they need.

We’re thrilled that the 2023 season will see the EZILIFT MXW class and Women’s MX Academy has been expanded to four rounds, to provide more opportunities for participants to improve their skills and participate in professional motocross racing.

Once again, the 2023 Penrite ProMX Championship season will be televised, showcasing the riders and competition to new audiences, including future generations of hopeful and aspiring young riders.

WELCOME FROM AMX

AMX Superstores is proud to continue our partnership with the 2023 Australian ProMX Championship. We extend a warm welcome to all, spectators, riders, race teams and industry supporters.

We are looking forward to another great year of racing ahead, as we know you all are, after an outstanding ’22 season which saw some of the best racing in recent memory.

This is our third year as the ‘presented by’ partner for ProMX, and we are thrilled to be onboard again this year. For AMX, we’ve always lived and breathed MX. From our beginnings in 2008 selling clearance MX gear out of a shed in Bayswater, Victoria, to today with stores across 5 states and an ever-growing team, MX is in our blood. The sport provides the opportunity for everyone to enjoy MX, from spectators to riders to industry sponsors like us, we just love getting involved and having some fun.

We also see our support of ProMX as a small contribution to ensure MX stays where it should be, a well-managed

sport viewed by as many spectators as possible who have a quality experience, whether at the track or watching the live stream or on broadcast TV through SBS. We know our sport is one of the most spectacular, challenging and extreme sports out there today and we want it to grow for the benefit of teams, riders and spectators alike.

We’ll be at all rounds, so come and talk to our team about anything MX. We enjoy getting along to these events, it’s what being involved in this industry is all about and we’re privileged to be here to support racing and just talk bikes for a weekend! And by the way, if you pass by our trade stand, you can pick yourself up some goodies at special ProMX pricing as well.

From team AMX to you, we hope you enjoy the season ’23 Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores, now let’s go racing!

2022 FINAL ROUND AS WE HEAD TO 2023

Sometimes to look forward, you have to look back. The final round of the 2022 Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores saw all the champions crowned, so we’re looking back to look ahead to 2023…

MX1

The 2022 ProMX MX1 class final round at Coolum, Queensland saw Red Plate holder Aaron Tanti of the CDR Yamaha Monster Energy Team secure the championship title. Despite entering the event with a comfortable lead over his rival Dean Ferris from HRC Honda Racing Australia, Tanti kept a smart race strategy, circulating in

6th position for most of the first Moto. Meanwhile, Wilson Todd claimed the first Moto victory with Todd Waters in second and Ferris in third.

In the second Moto, Kyle Webster and Wilson Todd of HRC Honda Racing Australia engaged in a fierce battle for the lead, with Webster emerging victorious. Todd Waters charged through the field once again and took the lead at the 10-minute mark, but he was caught by Webster and Todd, who worked together to reclaim the lead. However, Todd ran wide in the back section of the track, pushing Todd off the track and to the ground.

At the checkered flag, Webster took the victory, followed by Waters in second and Todd in third after remounting. The overall podium saw Todd claim his first THOR MX1 victory, with Waters in second and Webster in third.

Looking ahead to the 2023 season, Tanti’s strong performance and championship win suggest that he will be a top contender in the class, but a fit and fast Luke Clout would enjoy a level of favouritism as well. Kyle Webster would be looking for a full season to show what he is capable of.

MX2

The final round of the 2022 ProMX in the MX2 class at Coolum, Queensland was an exciting conclusion to the Pirelli MX2 Championship. Nathan Crawford of KTM Australia dominated the first Moto, taking the holeshot and establishing a strong lead. New Zealand wild card Hayden Smith on the GAS GAS 250 two stroke started off strong in 2nd, but was passed by SERCO Yamaha’s Jesse Dobson. However, Dobson was forced to withdraw from the race due to a shoulder injury. Jayce Cosford on his Yamaha YZ250f took over 2nd place, followed by Yamalube Yamaha’s Rhys Budd in 3rd and SERCO Yamaha’s Bailey Malkiewicz in 4th.

In the second Moto, Crawford once again took the holeshot and pulled away from the field. Dobson returned to the front and was running impressively in 2nd, but a big crash ended his race and his chances of finishing 3rd in the Pirelli MX2 Championship standings. WBR Bulk Nutrients Yamaha’s Levi Rogers emerged as a new contender in the final Moto, overtaking Crawford and winning the race with Crawford in 2nd and Malkiewicz in 3rd. Budd finished in 4th and Empire

followed by Budd in 2nd and Malkiewicz in 3rd.

For the 2023 season, it is likely that Crawford will be a strong contender for the championship, as well as the Yamaha riders who performed well in the final round. The emergence of Levi Rogers could also make him a strong competitor in the 2023 season.

In Moto 1, Minear showed his skill by passing Husqvarna Australia’s Brock Flynn for the lead after the big double jump following turn 2. However, a crash in turn 3 cost him the lead, allowing Flynn and KTM privateer Myles Gilmore to take the top spots. In the later part of the Moto, Flynn crashed while leading, allowing Gilmore to take the win with Flynn in 2nd and Ryan Alexanderson on KTM in 3rd. Despite the setback, Minear fought back to finish 5th in Moto 1 and entered Moto 2 with a comfortable championship lead.

In Moto 2, Minear showed his dominance by taking a huge holeshot but was overtaken by Flynn with two laps to go. At the end, Flynn claimed the Moto win, followed by Minear in 2nd and Gilmore in 3rd. Flynn took the overall

victory for the day, while Minear secured his first Maxxis MX3 Championship title with a 3rd overall finish. The Maxxis MX3 overall podium saw Flynn in 1st, Minear in 2nd, and Gilmore in 3rd. The Maxxis MX3 Championship

The final round of the 2022 ProMX in the EZILIFT MXW class at Coolum, Qld saw Charli Cannon of Yamalube Yamaha emerge as the dominant force, facing off against the returning Taylah McCutcheon from injury on the HRC Honda Racing Australia machine. In the first Moto, McCutcheon grabbed the holeshot, but Cannon quickly fought her way through traffic to reach 2nd place by the end of lap two. The lead duo battled until lap five when Cannon’s speed and fitness eventually overpowered McCutcheon, resulting in a comfortable win for Cannon. Emma Milesevic claimed 3rd place in a return from injury, with Megan Rutledge in 4th and Maddy Brown in 5th.

standings saw Minear in 1st, Ryan Alexanderson in 2nd, and Jack Mather in 3rd.

For the 2023 season, Minear will likely be a favourite to defend his championship title, given his impressive performance in the previous season. The competition is expected to be intense with other incoming and second season riders looking to dethrone Minear and claim the championship for themselves.

In the second Moto, Cannon was determined to end the season on a high note and took control of the race after a brief challenge from McCutcheon. Cannon opened up a substantial lead to claim the final Moto win of the season, with McCutcheon finishing 2nd and Maddy Brown in 3rd.

Charli Cannon took the EZILIFT MXW championship title with a 1-1 Moto score and was crowned the overall winner of the day. Emma Milesevic finished 2nd in the championship standings, followed by Maddy Brown in 3rd.

Looking ahead to the 2023 season, the EZILIFT MXW class promises to be exciting, with the return of several strong competitors from injury and the possibility of new talent emerging. Charli Cannon will be a force to be reckoned with- though the number of rounds she will contend remains unknown- and the battle for the championship title will be highly competitive.
