Information graphics explains the complex and reveals the hidden. Constructing visual representation of information is not mere translation of what can be read to what can be seen. It helps filter requisite information, establish relationships, identify patterns and ultimately lead to 'sensemaking'.

Dams of India and their Impact
Rivers – worshiped to this day as symbols of prosperity, have witnessed numerous civilizations flourish and perish by their banks. During the course of their flow from their origin to the sea, they touch various places and millions of people. But this has not been the same - thanks to man-made interventions – DAMS. The objective was to study the geographic courses of major rivers of India and the impacts of various dams constructed on them. After an intensive data collection process the parameters chosen to depict where the construction costs and time , the height of the dam, the hydro-electric power generated, drinking water produced, fisheries, the extent of land irrigated by the dam versus the amount of land submerged along with the number of villages submerged and families displaced.
The placement of the actual contour of the rivers along with their geographic context would help people get an idea of the lengths of the rivers along with the location of the dams and their names. By this one can visually measure various parameters that went into the construction against the impacts that are good and bad. The visualization thereby makes the otherwise boring statistical data into a more user-friendly, readable, comprehendible representation aiding the user to understand the far-fetched implications of dams. The entire visualization was developed in 10 weeks using interactive print media, where user is given the freedom of exploring the dam or river with the help of concertina folds. Usage This interactive data graphics can be used in the offices, libraries, and even can be used in between books.
Physical Interaction Information Design
The entire visualization can fit into an envelope
The user can visually compare and measure the data of each and every dams individual variables in a single glance
Here you can look at the exact flow of the River at micro and macro level along with the nearby places/landmarks.
The distinction of flow to the different oceans has also been shown by demarcations on the left and right of papers margin.

A Map of Participants for the Information Activism Camp - 2009
Info-Activism is an approach which helps rights advocates tactically utilize information, communications and digital technologies to enhance advocacy work. The camp was an intensive seven day hands-on workshop that brought 144 participants, 38 countries together. The participants are categorized based on their gender as well as the various fields that they work in. In order to show the diversity as well as the relation to the workplaces of the participants, this info-graphic uses colors to map the Demographics of the participants and a longitudinal mapping for their work places. To further bring the variables closer yet maintain the relationships an abstraction was chosen for geographical locations by mapping participants.

Brief
A Critical Feature of SAP Business By Design (BYD), Identity Access Management manages Access Rights in an Enterprise Application.
Research
SAP Business ByDesign is a fully integrated business management software solution designed for mid-size companies or small businesses that want the benefits of large-scale business applications without the need for a large IT infrastructure.
Scope
To improve the experience of the entire process of Identity and Access Management, which breaks the paradigm of tables and makes the entire process easier to understand and simplified, yet retaining the flexibility to provide access Rights at all levels of granularity, IAM Allows customers to implement business driven, compliant identity management across the Enterprise domain.
Competitive Analysis
Heuristic evaluations
Studied the existing competitors and their functions.
Studied heuristics of the existing application, focused on pain points and conceptualized accordingly.

A Research based project, focusing on emerging markets. Brief : To study and understand media consumption trends in an average middle class family of tier 2 cities, their interactions with gadgets and perceptions about technology with respect to cultural influences, hence design media in harmony with their wants and needs User research The User Research was carried out in the cities of Guntur and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh as a collective effort by a group of 6 students. Later this research branched into individual insights and there by into individual concepts. Common Insights Planned routine/Minimal free time Need based improvement of standard of life Self-involved/Not very outgoing Brand priority/Affordability second Younger generation - introduces new technology Older generation dependent T.V - Max presence/moblile/phone - max used but not all features Organize/plan/Fund manage Paper medium - Document filing/archiving - ease of access General Patriarchal society Religious Information seekers Multiple modes of income/Business Education Socially active Word of mouth Important

Concept for a Community Radio application : Assuming that an advanced media hub exists for accessing most forms of media used in a household like the TV, radio, telephone, music system etc., the concept was of an application to access Community Radios belonging to a community of a particular location. A Community Radio is a non-commercial and pure community interest driven broadcasting facility, which enhances the experience of utilizing this media to promote richer means of community interactions
2
1 Initially user can choose category of programs he wishes to listen on a community based station, on click he can view the program schedule, using the search option.
The map shows on the right pane shows all stations from the city/town and on the right pane the programs belonging to chosen category are listed, where the user can view schedule selected station

Industry Projects
If the user clicks on a particular radio station the program schedule is displayed on the right. As a community driven body. It lies in user's interest to know the location of these stations for him to access his community activities.
3
4 Thus on selecting another station from the map displays its schedule on the right. The call icon highlights the active program running at the station, and since it is run by people, calling option is one main characteristic of all community radios.
5
on selecting the call option, the user can view all the incoming calls w.r.t his location. This feature defines the characteristic of community radio where interactions within the community is enhanced, becoming a sharing ground for community concerns and interests.
