204 Stierlin Road (650) 968-0836 The Community Services Agency offers an Emergency Assistance Program that provides one-time financial assistance with rent, one-time financial assistance with PG&E bills, a Food and Nutrition Center (supplemental food program open Monday through Friday), backpacks and school supplies, dental and vision care (including eyeglasses) for uninsured children, holiday bags and toy distribution, medical prescription assistance for uninsured children and adults, and fee waivers for recreation programs. Recreation Class Financial Assistance Program (FAP) The City provides eligible, low-income Mountain View families limited financial assistance to register children for recreation classes in order to enjoy the benefits of recreation. To qualify, applicants must be a Mountain View resident and qualify through the Community Services Agency (CSA) screening process (subject to Santa Clara County HUD guidelines). The original CSA Financial Assistance Form must be submitted each year at the first time of registration for recreation classes. Upon eligibility, recipients will be allowed to register for a maximum of $400 or $800 worth of classes. • FAP allocations do not cover any material fees. Material fees must be paid out of pocket. • Withdrawals made less than five business days prior to the start date of a class will have double the cost of the class subtracted from the customer’s FAP allocation. No amount will be returned to the remaining FAP balance once it has been applied towards class registration unless the class is cancelled by the Recreation Division. A $10 out-of-pocket fee shall be charged per transaction. • Requests for transfers, if space is available, MUST be made no less than three business days before the first day of the transfer out class. A $10 outof-pocket fee shall be charged per transaction. • FAP is good for one year (September 1 through August 31) and does not apply to Adult Classes, Golf, Tennis, Lap Swims, and Special Events. • FAP recipients who do not attend the first day of a class for which they are registered will be automatically withdrawn, have double the cost of the class subtracted from their FAP allocation and charged a $10 processing fee (must be paid out-of-pocket). FAP participants must contact the Recreation Division before the start of the first day of each session to report absences. If contact is not made, the FAP participant may be withdrawn. • FAP is good for one year (September 1 through August 31) and does not apply to Adult Classes, Golf, Tennis, Lap Swims, and Special Events.

The Historic Adobe Building, located just outside of Downtown Mountain View, features a large main hall with an adjacent outdoor patio/lawn area. This facility is perfect for intimate weddings, meetings, and other social gatherings. Max occupancy of 100 people.

BBQ Reservations: Expanded 2015 Season Summer is right around the corner and that means BBQ season will be here before we know it! ** NEW for 2015: The BBQ season has been expanded and reservations can now be made beginning April 1.** Beginning April 1 and running through October 31, the Large Group Areas can be reserved seven days a week for full days or half days. The group areas, which can accommodate groups up to 250 people, are perfect for everything from your family reunion to corporate gathering. Reservations can only be made by Mountain View residents and businesses and must be made at least two days prior to you event.

Mountain View Community Center 201 South Rengstorff Avenue

Located conveniently in Rengstorff Park, this facility features a variety of different rooms for all types of events. The Auditorium is perfect for social gatherings and large seminars, while there are different size auxiliary rooms for family birthdays and other functions that require a private space. This facility has a max occupancy ranging from 25 to 200 depending on the room.

Looking for a small place to have a BBQ family dinner one night? Cuesta and Rengstorff Park also have single tables available for reservation. Family tables can be reserved on weekends and holidays, and are also available on a first come-first serve basis during the week.

Save the date: BBQ reservations for the 2015 BBQ season will open up on Tuesday, March 3, 2015.

General Use Notification

Mountain View Senior Center 266 Escuela Avenue

Groups of 50 or more that wish to use any City of Mountain View Park (with the exception of BBQ reservations) are required to obtain a General Use Notification. Applications for these permits must be made with the Facility Reservations Office at least two weeks in advance. A $64 fee applies if your permit is approved.

Available for exclusive use during private events, the Senior Center is one of Mountain View’s newest facilities with modern architecture and beautiful hardwood floors. This facility can accommodate a diverse range of events from small meetings to largescale social gatherings. The Main Social Hall is perfect for weddings, birthday parties, and memorials and has an adjacent outdoor patio area. This facility has a max occupancy ranging from 25-200 depending on the room.

Club Rec Spring - Kicks, Tricks, and Swim

Club Rec Spring Edition hosts a special Kicks, Tricks, and Swim Camp. The camp will feature soccer instruction in the morning, swim instruction in the afternoon (M-Th) with traditional camp fun and tricks all throughout. Children will learn magic tricks and the art of illusion in between their soccer and swim instruction. On Friday, we’ll have a magic show on the outside stage of the Community Center from 1:45 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. Children must bring a morning snack, bag lunch, and water bottle each day. Children should come wearing active running clothes with a swimsuit, towel and pre-applied sunscreen for the afternoon lesson. Instructor: Recreation staff. Leader In Training Program Too old for camp and too young to be a recreation or aquatic staff? If you are mature, energetic, outgoing, enthusiastic, creative and between the ages of 13-17 years old, apply to be part of the Leader in Training (LIT) program! Learn about leadership, asset development, responsibility, and service to others while gaining valuable work experience for future jobs! LITs assist Aquatic staff and Recreation Leaders with summer programs and help lead activities, games, sports, crafts and field trips to various locations. LIT positions are available in Recreation Camps, Deer Hollow Farm Wilderness Camps, and Aquatics Programs. Deer Hollow Farm Wilderness Camp Campers 6 to 10 years old: Deer Hollow Farm is the perfect destination for summer fun and learning! From close encounters with Farm animals, exciting nature hikes, fun with new friends, and plenty of arts and crafts projects, you’ll have a summer you won’t forget. The Farm is a 10-acre historical homestead nestled in 3,800 acres of wilderness preserve located in the Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve. Campers 10 to 12 years old conclude the week with a sleepover in the Ohlone Village. Campers 12 to 14 years old will take a 9-mile hike to the top of Black Mountain for an overnight camp-out. Additional activities include feeding the farm animals, archery, preparing meals, a night hike and sleeping under the stars! Campers with Special Needs 6 to 17 years old with mild to moderate disabilities. Parents and Aides are welcome. Parking is available at the Farm, the Farm is ADA accessible.

Deer Hollow Farm Summer Camp T-Shirts and Water Bottles Available The Friends of Deer Hollow Farm are selling T-shirts and water bottles during the Farm’s summer camp program. The T-Shirts and bottles feature the Friends dancing animals logo for the 2015 Summer Camp at Deer Hollow Farm. The shirts are optional to wear at Camp, which is held June-August. Not only will your child enjoy wearing this shirt to camp, it will be a souvenir of the happy times spent there. The shirts are $10 and the water bottles are $5 each. An order form will be sent home with the campers on the first day of camp. Friends of Deer Hollow Farm is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization supporting the renowned educational program at Deer Hollow Farm, managed by the City of Mountain View and located in Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve. Each year, about 400 local children attend summer camp and about 5,000 Santa Clara County elementary school students attend field trips at Deer Hollow Farm. Friends of Deer Hollow Farm funds approximately half of the students with field trip scholarships as well as providing many enhancements to the farm. Questions can be e-mailed to info@fodhf.org.

H2O Adventures

H2O Adventures is a water-inspired summer camp which includes 30 minutes of swim lessons (provided by aquatic staff) Monday-Thursday. Each Friday, participants will go on a fun-filled field trip! Lifeguard Training

This course is specifically designed to prepare students for eligibility to apply for Lifeguard employment. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive the following certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid training and Lifeguard Training certification. • Please bring a copy of your receipt on the first day of class.

• During all swim lessons, please direct all questions regarding registration and swim lessons to the Pool Supervisor.

• Based on American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program, each child must be the required minimum/maximum age on the first day of each session. Unfortunately the age requirement is not negotiable. • For the first session your child participates in, we recommend enrollment in the last swim level completed in summer 2014. This serves as a great refresher after almost one year out of the water. • We strongly urge you to make sure your child is registered for the correct level. If your child is registered for the incorrect level we do not guarantee space in other levels. • If there is an open spot in a class, the waitlist will be contacted first before allowing any other children into the class. • To keep your child safe, registration in consecutive classes is not permitted.

Mountain View Masters Mountain View Masters (MVM) is a swim program providing year-round coached workouts, clinics, competitions and fun social events for adults ages 18 and older. MVM is a member of United States Masters Swimming. We welcome swimmers of all abilities and with various training goals (fitness, triathlon, competitive, non-competitive) who are interested in improving their fitness through swimming. This creative play-based preschool program is designed to meet the developmental needs of the “whole child.” The curriculum centers on the vital social opportunities children need in order to grow emotionally, cognitively, and kinesthetically. Youth and Teen Classes Skyhawks Basketball League

Skyhawks CO-ED Instructional League/ Clinic offers an exciting, positive, and safe introduction to league play. Teams are coached & games are officiated by Skyhawks trained and enthusiastic staff to ensure that all participants learn the essential skills, rules and strategies to the game. The first session consists of 1 hour of skill development circuits and evaluations. The next 6 weeks consist of 1 hour sessions that include practice, followed by a game. Gym Rentals

The City of Mountain View has two gymnasium facilities available for rental for activities such as basketball, volleyball, futsal, dance groups, etc. Both gyms are available for rental Monday to Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays, and 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sundays. Rental applications are accepted four times per year: November (January through March use), February (April through September use), May (July through September use), and August (October through December use). First priority is given to Mountain View residents followed by Mountain View businesses and non-residents. Applications are accepted throughout the year, but space will be limited after the initial application acceptance. Gym Rental information and applications can be found online at www.mountainview.gov/gymrentals.

Both pools are available for private rentals. It is the perfect place to have a school or class party, company picnic, family reunion, or other special event. Fees are reasonable and include lifeguard services. Reservations can be made by calling

Rallyball Camps are designed to be beginner-friendly and to engage young children in participating in tennis as a team sport, while having fun and learning basic skills. Campers will be placed on teams and play for “TEAM of the WEEK” and “CAMPER of the WEEK.” A strong emphasis will be placed on “The Big Three,” which are attitude, effort, and sportsmanship. Team work, achieving one’s personal best, and “The Big Three” are emphasized. Small Group Classes (4-6 participants) are a great way to get more individualized instruction tailored to your individual needs. These classes will cover the fundamentals of stroke production, movement, and strategy, while engaging each player in fun and productive drills and exercises. The class fee is slightly higher due to the limited class size, and the individualized attention. Small group sessions optimize the playing time and will help each player improve at a faster pace.

Red and Orange Ball Performance (ROB) program focuses on 6-10 year old players who have some tennis experience and are serious about tennis. Typically these players have little competitive experience, but are looking to develop their game and are looking to one day compete in the USTA Tournaments. The clinics are 1.5hrs and offer players intense workouts, focusing on developing their fundamentals, footwork, and point play under a positive fun environment. The program is designed to get the players ready to join our Junior Performance (JP) program.

The Junior Performance (JP) program is for 10-18 year olds who have had prior tennis experience, have developed their fundamentals and play USTA tennis tournaments on a regular basis. Los participantes que reciban 3 infracciones por mal comportamiento se le suspenderá del programa en el que estén participando. Se le reembolsará parte de la cuota, a reserva de lo que decida el supervisor.

Cuota por Recoger a los Niños Tarde: Los padres/ tutores que lleguen tarde a recoger a sus hijos de cualquier programa de recreación se les cobrarán $6 por cada 15 minutos tarde. Todo aquel que tenga 3 infracciones por llegar tarde se les suspenderá del programa.

registration levels will be cancelled. Participants will be notified approximately three business days before class begins and issued a full refund, or be eligible to transfer to another class if space is available. Participants transferring will be responsible for any additional fees.

• Mountain View residents: One (1) proof of residence must be provided per season. For acceptable proofs of residence, please refer to Proof of Mountain View Residency section under General Information.

Acceptable forms of proof include: Current California Driver’s License or Identification, a Recent Utility Bill, Bank Statement, or Rental Agreement on Property Management letterhead with a current address. Temporary DMV Change of Address cards, Post Office boxes, personal checks, letters, or flyers are not acceptable. The proof of residence must match the name and address on the registration form and be submitted once a year.

Age/Birth Date: To register, participants must be the required minimum/maximum age by the first day of class. All participants 17 years of age or younger must provide their date of birth. Proof of age may be required. Behavior Violation: Participants receiving three behavior

violations will be removed from the specific program. A partial class refund may be granted at the discretion of the program supervisor.

Financial Assistance Participants (FAP):

Refer to Page 2 for FAP information and policies.

Class Attendance and Registration: Registration is required in order to attend or participate in a class. No registration is accepted in class. Fees are not prorated and no make-up classes are offered for missed classes.

• In order to be equitable to everyone, multiple family registration forms will not be accepted during walk-in registration.

Waitlist: Your name will be placed on a waitlist if your first or alternate class choices are full. Once an opening becomes available, the first person on the waitlist will be contacted and given a 24-hour deadline to submit registration and payment. If registration and payment are not submitted by the given deadline, you will be removed from the waitlist and the next person on the list will be contacted.

• Mail, fax, and drop-off forms will be processed daily, in order of date received. A receipt will be mailed when processed.
