Living On Campus

Residence Life

The residence halls at Mount Aloysius provide convenient and high-quality living options in the heart of campus. Living on-campus is the best way to experience the full college experience and to connect easily with your peers. Our campus is staffed 24/7, 365 with wonderful campus safety officers and residence life staff, so you can rest easy knowing that you have assistance whenever you need it.

Living on campus is considered a part of the Mount Aloysius College experience. Therefore, freshman, sophomore, and junior students are required to live on campus. If requesting a contract release due to proximity (within 45-minute commute from their permanent address), medical reason, or extenuating circumstances, the housing contract release form must be completed and returned to the Residence Life department.

Residence Life Staff

Resident Assistants are trained to help residents with the transition to college. This could include integrating with your roommate(s), mediations, and of course suggesting fun activities and events! Our professional staff include Graduate Residence Directors, Residence Life Assistant Director, and Residence Life Director, all who help to oversee the residential program.

Room Assignments

Room assignments will be emailed to new students in mid-July. Please know that we assign room locations based on when you completed your housing deposit, and then we assign based on how you answered the housing questions. You will receive the email to your student email account. Please be sure to check your mtaloy.edu account frequently, as this is how the college will begin communicating with you.

After you receive your roommate information, please reach out to your roommate directly to get to know each other and to discuss what each roommate plans to bring. A caution about social media-please reach out to your roommate to have a conversation with them prior to making immediate judgements based on what you see.

Lofts

Bed lofting kits are available upon request for Ihmsen Hall. Students must submit a request to loft or bunk beds, as supplies are limited. Please note that beds in Saint Joseph’s Hall are unable to be lofted. Requests for lofting and bunking can be submitted by scanning the QR code and filling out the form.

Please note that a lofted bed raises the bed to fit furniture underneath the bed space, while the bed can be adjusted to be slightly lower, the lofted beds are purposely raised high enough to allow for the floor space to accommodate additional furniture. Use the QR code to view reference photos.

Fall Move-In Process

New students are invited to move into their residence hall space prior to most returning students. You will receive additional move-in information in August. Upon arrival to campus, you will be greeted by our staff and directed to your hall. Please be sure to check your student email for further information that will be sent prior to moving in. At your hall, residence life staff and orientation leaders will check you in and assist you with moving your belongings. Please bring additional helpers as our staff will be busy all day and will be unable to fully move you in. Our staff will not assist with large items (couches, etc) or with expensive items (T.V., computer, etc).

It’s not too late to sign up for fall housing!

The mailing address for student mail is 7373 Admiral Peary Highway, Cresson, PA 16630. Please be sure to include the student’s name.
