EMOTIONAL RESILIENCE Remember that old classic 80’s flick The Goonies? I was educating my wife on 80’s films at the weekend and this was one of my favourites from when I was a kid, so we chose to bask in nostalgia for an evening. One scene stuck out to me for a rather poignant reason totally unrelated to the film’s narrative. Remember that scene where the boy raises the old doubloon coin and lines it up with the landscape and looks through the gaps of the coin to reveal where the pirate treasure is hidden?

It is inevitable that the emotional landscape looks different to everyone, so when someone is pushing my buttons, I try to remember the experiences that shaped my values and offer my brothers and sisters support instead of judgement. This helps me maintain my tranquillity. I keep my doubloon coin where it belongs, in a treasure chest along with all my life’s treasures that I have discovered on reflection of emotional experiences. If you don’t know where to start or you have started and feel like you have plateaued, then Method Monk can help you make the change you crave.

Are you ready to change your life? I thought to myself wow! Perspective is a fine thing. We all see life from our own perspective, and it is nothing like anyone else’s, in fact it is completely unique. When dealing with other human beings we can find ourselves caught up in a world of emotion, whether it be regret, sadness, anger or some other feelings that we attach to situations brought about by our own or someone else’s actions. Sometimes in life we hold our own Spanish Doubloon Coin up and hold it over the landscape. The coin uniquely weathered by our environment, upbringing, surroundings, guidance, and experience over time. This provides us with a template for the land to fit into. If we look at the landscape as the actions of others and for some reason the contours of the land do not fit in to the gaps on our doubloon coin, then it can be easy to place judgments on these land masses. This then leads to emotions getting the better of us. We judge the situation based on our own perspective. Remember that some people have their own uniquely shaped Doubloon Coin. Socrates reminds us that “Nobody does wrong willingly”. They simply view the world through a different coin and their action may be OK from their perspective. Other people’s actions do not disturb and upset us, it’s our own judgments on their actions that make our emotions come to the surface. We dwell on these judgments and waste valuable time, lose sleep, think about them when we should be in the moment with our loved ones or concentrating on our own personal development.

OVER 3,000 EXCITED SANTAS HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED Liverpool sees the return of the world-famous Santa Dash in less than three weeks – the pop-up shop is open and there’s even a new Santa in town. The festive spectacular returns in real-life for its 18th consecutive event on the first Sunday of December – and it is thought to be the UK’s biggest festive 5K fun run. The Appreciate Group Liverpool Santa Dash is on Sunday 5 December, starting at 9.30am from Pier Head Liverpool on the city’s iconic waterfront. Participants are now counting down the days until they can once again transform the city into a sea of dashing Santas. More than 3,000 people have already registered to take part. The 5K route takes Santas through the Grade I Listed Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, through the city centre, before a grandstand finish outside Liverpool Town Hall featuring stilt walking festive characters and ‘real’ snow. Dashing Santas are being encouraged to walk, jog or run to raise funds for Alder Hey Children’s Charity – the event’s official charity partner for 2021. The Santa Dash pop-up shop is now open seven days a week until Saturday 4 December at St Johns Shopping Centre, located on the upper level near the Matalan bridge. The shop is open for in-person registration, as well as Santa suit collection for anyone who has registered online. Opening days and times are Monday to Saturday 9.30am to 5pm, and Sunday 11am to 4pm.

Liverpool-based gifting company, Appreciate Group, is this year’s headline partner – and are introducing a bright new Santa to the colourful event. Appreciate Group have been based in the region for more than 50 years and are home to many of the nation’s most loved gifting and reward products including Love2shop, highstreetvouchers.com, and Park Christmas Savings. Official charity partner Alder Hey Children’s Charity recently launched its new £2.5million Surgical Neonatal Appeal to help develop a state-of-the-art unit for newborn babies and their families. Liverpool Santa Dash is an accessible event open to everyone – wheelchair participants, walkers, joggers, runners, families, friends, colleagues, tiny Santas in prams, and even four-legged furry Santas. Created by BTR Race Director Alan Rothwell, the Liverpool Santa Dash was first staged in 2004. A separate 1K Mini Dash for under 12s was added in 2007, and blue Santa suits were introduced three years later. The registration fee covers all costs to organise and deliver the event including road closures, safety measures, Santa suits, medals, goody bags, and entertainment. Any Covid-19 guidelines required at the time of the event will be followed. For full details and online entry visit: www.btrliverpool.com/santa-dash WIRRAL WELL

PATIENCE THE ANTIDOTE TO ANGER We are coming to the time of year, whilst wonderful, can also be very stressful for some and this stress can often manifest as anger. We can define anger as “a disturbing thought that exaggerates the negative qualities of an object and wishes to harm it” it includes, being irritated, annoyed, critical, not getting what we want and so on. Are you happy when you’re angry? How many people when asked, how did work go today, reply by saying they had a really great day because they were angry all day. Sometimes things go great, and sometimes they seem to spiral out of control, everything we do has the potential to go wrong. We believe all our problems are ‘out there’ and that getting angry is the cure to the problem. Unfortunately, we know there is no end to our problems, as we demolish one problem, new ones pop up. By responding with anger, we habituate ourselves to being angry. It is impossible to overcome all these external enemies, what we need to do is destroy our own internal enemy – anger. We do this by applying the antidote to anger, which is patience. Patience is the ability to remain undisturbed in the face of harm or suffering. It doesn’t mean being patient through gritted teeth, that is just suppressed anger, and it doesn’t mean being a passive door mat, rather patience breaks the cycle of unthinking action and reaction giving us the clarity of mind necessary to act or not to act. Ask yourself “Can I do something about this?” if you can then anger is out of place because you can improve the situation, if you can’t, anger is useless because nothing can be one.

13

WIRRAL WELL

BEING

Anger and patience are dichotomies when one is present in the mind the other cannot be. It’s like having a choice to switch the TV channels to a violent movie or to a gentle one. We know that anger can flare up in our minds within seconds and to control it we need to be able to catch it the moment it arises. Without controlling our anger, we lose an incredible chance for happiness. It doesn’t mean that we no longer have enemies or people who will try to hurt us, but it means that we don’t get angry, frustrated, or discouraged, or reluctant to help them. With practice and familiarity everything becomes easier so for example next time you are in a queue and an elderly person is keeping the cashier chatting, instead of rolling your eyes and thinking how important your time is, think that this elderly person may be living alone, and the cashier may be the only person that they will speak to today. In this case patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting. The Buddha says that in life we are struck by two arrows, the first is the inevitable and unavoidable pain of life, no one escapes being struck by this arrow. But then most of us are struck by the second arrow – the arrow of suffering. The arrow of suffering is the story we tell ourselves about the pain of the first arrow, the one our thoughts dwell on, and this one we can escape; this arrow’s suffering is optional. So, it is with anger and patience. Wishing You Peace and Happiness Bill Seymour – Buddhist.

IT’S OUR 5TH ANNIVERSARY With a great sense of trepidation we opened our doors for the first time in December 2016. We had invested so much to get to that point – time, effort, money; would our newly adopted community trust us to look after their loved ones? It's been an emotional and cathartic journey for both of us. Stepping away from our family's funeral business was unnerving to say the least, given the high regard in which it was held with mum and dad at the helm. However, the lessons we learned from our much loved and missed parents laid the strongest foundations on which to build. Following the sale of their company to a chain in 2019 we feel all the more proud to carry the baton in their name and are steadfast in our resolve to continue in the same vein.

During the past 5 years we have received wonderful heartfelt feedback from families highlighting what we’re getting right for them, but we are never complacent and will continue to be open minded to our client’s individual needs. To each and every family that has entrusted us with the care of their loved one and to help you with planning their final journey….

Thank you, Robert & Karen

HESWALL LASER CLINIC Enhancing Your Natural Beauty COVID hit the beauty industry hard. We were no different and to be honest we struggled with the idea of coming off the High Street but with lots of hard work and determination renovating Hillyard Farm into a clinic has thankfully paid off. It’s a beautiful setting on Rabymere Rd and clients love coming here not only for the treatments but the beautiful views and free parking. It’s been tough but we have come through which is why its so important to support local businesses and community, I have wonderful clientele and we have been able to do what we do best. I’ve been in the beauty/ aesthetic industry for 20 years its all I know and want to know. Our secret mission is our flagship clinic, Donna Mackenzie Lynn Pugh and Kiki Medelian (CEO of liquid Lipo) Heswall Laser Clinic.

The Rapid Reset

There are limited spaces before Christmas, but results are guaranteed. 20 women wanted to drop a dress size in two weeks, so we used a multitude of methods targeting the adipose tissue and lymphatic drainage. Two weeks two sessions per week for combined treatments per session RRP £150 per session.

Step one

Liquid reset (fat dissolve gaol allows trapped fat in both the subcutaneous fat in the skin and visceral around the organs under muscle to secrete from fat cells)

Step 2

now the fat is liquid we heat up the lipids, allow them to travel faster, stop and white fat is converted into brown metabolic increasing fat. The enhanced capability of the evaluated system enables significant results in fewer and shorter sessions without compromising patient safety or comfort. This data suggests that postpartum reshaping via circumferential reduction and skin laxity improvement can be effectively and safely achieved using a high energy, combination of radio frequency, infrared and mechanical manipulation.

Step 3 - Breakage

Liposuction vacuum pulls the now smaller liquid lie pads into the lymphatic system Enabling it to leave the body. Hard and stubborn fat is now broken up into smaller particles to be able to travel through the lymph nodes. Ultrasonic cavitation is also known as fat cavitation, lipo cavitation. It is a essentially process by which ultrasound is used to breakdown the fat cells in the body so that they can be organically removed by the body zone metabolic processes.

Step 4 - Drainage

Vacuum RF skin tightening treatment waves of RF directly access the skin, and it significantly enhances the activities of deeper fat cells bringing fat cells to a fast active state from the ultrasonic waves and production of localised heat, so that the effective blood circulation occurs. This increased localized blood circulation within the dermis tightens soggy or loose ageing skin. your skin will have its electricity improved aided by increased metabolic activity. Then with the aid of the vacuum, the sweat glands, and the lymphatic system then excess fat and toxins are excreted it out of the body. This vacuum suction and RF further dissolves fat cells strengthening the integrity of cells mitochondria, enhancing blood and lymph circulation with metabolism benefits FOREVER. successfully 19 out of 20 women completed the trial, (1 got covid so didn’t complete) but all 19 lost eight inches from the abdomen over the four sessions.

£ 333 FOUR SESSIONS

THE RAPID RESET

INCLUDES A BOTTLE OF LIQUID LIPO FOR HOME USE.

RED CLOVER Modern scientific tests have shown that red clover contains isoflavones, plant-based chemicals that produce estrogen-like effects in the body. Isoflavones have shown potential in the treatment of several conditions associated with menopause, such as hot flashes, cardiovascular health, and osteoporosis. However, as researchers have become aware of the side effects of taking estrogen, there is also some concern about the safety of isoflavones. Plus, evidence that red clover helps reduce any menopausal symptoms, like hot flashes, is mixed. Plant Description Red clover is a perennial herb that commonly grows wild in meadows throughout Europe and Asia, and has been naturalized to grow in North America. The red flowers at the end of the branched stems are usually dried for therapeutic use. Medicinal Uses and Indications Red clover is a source of many nutrients including calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine, and vitamin C. It is a rich source of isoflavones (chemicals that act like estrogens and are found in many plants). Cardiovascular health Researchers theorize that red clover might help protect against heart disease, but studies in humans have not found strong evidence. Red clover isoflavones have been associated with an increase in HDL ("good") cholesterol in pre and postmenopausal women, but other studies show conflicting results. One study found that menopausal women taking red clover supplements had stronger, more flexible arteries, which can help prevent heart disease. Red clover may also have blood-thinning properties, which keeps blood clots from forming. It appears to improve blood flow. Menopause Researchers think that isoflavones, like those found in red clover, might help reduce symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes and night sweats, because of their estrogen-like effects. So far studies have been mixed. Several studies of a proprietary extract of red clover isoflavones suggest that it may significantly reduce hot flashes in menopausal women. However, the largest study showed no effect. Osteoporosis As estrogen levels drop during menopause, a woman's risk for developing osteoporosis goes up. A few studies suggest that a proprietary extract of red clover isoflavones may slow bone loss and even boost bone mineral density

19

WIRRAL WELL

BEING

in pre- and perimenopausal women. But the evidence is preliminary, and more research is needed. Cancer Based on its traditional use for cancer, researchers have begun to study the role of isoflavones from red clover in cancer prevention and treatment. Preliminary evidence suggests these isoflavones may stop cancer cells from growing or kill cancer cells in test tubes. Researchers theorize that red clover may help prevent some forms of cancer, such as prostate and endometrial cancer. However, because of the herb's estrogen-like effects, it might also contribute to the growth of some cancers, just as estrogen does. Until further research is done, doctors cannot recommend red clover to prevent cancer. Women with a history of breast cancer should not take red clover. Other uses Traditionally, red clover ointments have been applied to the skin to treat psoriasis, eczema, and other rashes. Red clover has also been used as a cough remedy for children. More recently, studies have shown that women using red clover may experience psychological benefits.

Heswall Disabled Children's Holiday Fund Charity Number 1177670 Ofsted URN: 10287082 | Tel: 07989745685

In the early 1960’s a few men (led by the late George Eustance of West Kirby) recognised that a group of polio disabled children were in need in assistance in regaining their independence – a camp under canvas was set up for the children. This holiday camp has evolved over the years under different leaderships, however the ethos has always remained the same – to provide free holidays to disabled children aged 9-15. The camps are held at The Barnstondale Activity Centre, a specialist holiday centre in the heart of Wirral, and Barton Camp, a residential camp for children in the Mendips run by the Bristol Children’s Help Society. At each camp we cater for up to 30 children each year. The charity needs to raise some £35,000 to run a camp, which is then free of charge to all children. The week’s programme includes on-site activities such as, evening entertainment and day trips including Blackpool, Chester Zoo, Southport, theme parks, flying at John Lennon and swimming. An in-house sports day is held mid-week and a drama evening is held with a local theatrical group. The children make props in art sessions run by the helpers guided by a visiting artist. The camps are run by a team of about 30 helpers (we aim for a one-to-one ratio of helpers to children), many of whom have been coming to our camps for many years. The helpers come from all walks of life including teachers and medical students. All bring energy and enthusiasm and give their time free of charge. As they are all volunteers, the atmosphere created is one of our camp’s greatest assets - probably the reason we get many repeat requests from children to attend our camps.

All connected with the camp have been DBS approved and all locations are risk assessed. We have child protection policies in force and are registered with Ofsted as a Children’s Holiday Scheme. If you would like to apply for a place on one of our camps, you can do so online: www.heswallcamp.org.uk How you can help... Donate To fulfil our mission we need to raise over £35,000 per camp each year, for which we rely upon the generosity of donations from industry, charitable organisations and individuals. Do you know of a disabled child, between the ages of 9 and 15, who would benefit from a holiday? ThinK Wine is the home of luxury bubbles and a deliciously highquality experience from grape to glass. We’re very picky about our grapes with only the very best making it into each and every bottle. Vegan, organic and reduced sugar and calories – every glass is mouth-wateringly guilt-free.

Local entrepreneur wins two silver awards for her wines in the international ‘Glass of Bubbly’ Awards 2021 held in London. Entrepreneur Katherine Jones, 31, from Liverpool has taken the UK by storm over the last 12 months with ThinK J Wines. 2021 has been an exciting year for ThinK as they launched into the US market. Their Prosecco and their Pinot Grigio Sparkling Rose have been exceptionally popular within California, New York, New Jersey and Florida. Back home the business has also experienced rapid growth which resulted in the recruitment of three new team members within three months and they are still on the look-out for another team member! ThinK has also onboarded with Thomas Ridley for distribution and this month won 2 silver awards in the prestigious international ‘Glass of Bubbly’ awards. The Glass of Bubbly Awards is a world-renowned annual awards ceremony which is judged by 50 top wine professionals from around the globe. There were 17 categories and ThinK won silver in 2 of them: ‘First Date’ and ‘Spring Fling’. The criteria for First Date was defined by ‘the perfect wine to accompany that first date. Nothing too complex and not necessarily a wine that needs to pair with exact foods’. ThinK PinK Pinot Grigio Sparkling Rose won silver in this category. ThinK Prosecco won the silver award for the ‘Spring Fling’ category and the criteria for this was ‘a floral driven wine that expresses flowers from cherry blossom to rose petals.

Imagine yourself walking into your local florist’. ‘This year has been full of surprises and incredible opportunities for ThinK. We celebrated our 2nd birthday this summer with the launch of our ThinK Miniatures, and I have been overwhelmed with the response we have had since launching in America!’ comments Katherine. Katherine saw a gap in the market for a ‘healthier wine option’ which led her to create the ThinK Wine Group in the summer of 2019. After multiple trips to Italy and a lot of fine tuning, a delicious vegan, organic, reduced calorie Prosecco and Pinot Grigio Sparkling Rose were created and ready for sale. ThinK has a remarkable online following, is stocked in many up-market venues throughout the UK and has survived and thrived through a global pandemic. ‘We blend our refined wines with the perfect quantity of hand-picked Italian grapes from our vegan and certified organic vineyard in Treviso, with only the best grapes making it into our bottles. It is the quality of the grapes that we use that enable us to have a reduced sugar and calorie content in our wines. Our wines were designed for people who care about what they consume from a health and quality perspective’ Explains Katherine ThinK wine is also 100% plant based. The clarification process is what causes many wines not to be vegan friendly. ThinK however use a protein to achieve the beautiful clarity the wine displays. They also partner with a family-run certified organic vineyard that operates according to the guidelines of sustainable viticulture.

Mindfulness for stress interruption, emotional resilience & well being.

Julie Perrigo - Founder My Journey to Mindfulness

A 25 year career in I.T. left me feeling drained and simply wondering what life was all about. Life had lost its meaning and purpose and just getting through the day became a chore. Whilst I’ve worked in toxic environments in the past, this wasn’t the problem. I just felt like I was wasting my life. On top of this, I found that I worried all of the time and just couldn’t stop my mind from thinking. This took its toll on my health and I began to feel depressed. This wasn’t my first episode, over the course of my life, I’ve suffered from stress a number of times and it often led to exhaustion and depression. Around this time I began to meditate and discovered the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course. After one of the meditation sessions I noticed a stillness in my mind, unlike anything I had ever experienced. This motivated me to find out more so I embarked on a 3 year masters degree with Aberdeen University. It wasn’t my intention to teach but when I began to experience the benefits of mindfulness and to understand the neuroscience, I literally wanted to tell the world that dealing with stress is possible.

What’s On Mindfulness Based Living Course Discover what mindfulness is really about with this 8 week group course. Includes FREE book & App and qualification from the British Mindfulness Association. Mind21 If you’re too busy to commit to an 8 week course but want to learn to improve your emotional resilience, stress management and overall well being, Mind21 is available online. Includes a 21 day course plus 9 relaxation journeys & a 21 day 10 minute challenge. Beautiful Journeys If it’s time to introduce a self care routine, or improve your sleep, try these 9 visualisations available online. 21 Day Challenge Want to experience mindfulness but don’t know where to start? 10 minutes per day is a way to learn the techniques and experience the impact on your daily life. Wirral Wave I also host the well being show on Wirral Wave radio. www.wirralwave.co.uk

Not only that, but many of the experiences we have around stress are natural. The problem is we live in a culture that demonises mental health, issues so many people are reluctant to discuss their experiences. So having qualified with the British Mindfulness Association & Aberdeen University, it’s my mission, to empower people to develop the skills they need to manage stress in a gentle, supportive way.

Dealing with Lockdown

I was just getting started when lockdown hit and my first group met for just 2 weeks before we had to close down. I really didn’t know what to do next until quite by chance I came across an online marketing course. Realising that many people were turning to online courses during the pandemic, I thought this was a great way to get the stress message out to more people. I wanted to take the best of the leading courses and design something that was easy to follow and accessible to busy people. Based on research from popular mindfulness courses including stress reduction; mindfulness based living; Google’s “Search Inside Yourself” and the mindfulness way through depression, I created Mind21. Practice is a crucial part of mindfulness as we’re literally rewiring the neural pathways in the brain. Mind21 requires a daily commitment of 30 minutes and weaves the science of mindfulness & stress, with a 20 minute practice. Before it’s launch Mind21 was trialled with a research group who reported improved sleep; an ability to step back from irritating situations; more emotional stability, less worrying and a general sense of being more in control of themselves. It’s since become our best selling course and a recent upgrade helps customers continue their practice at the end of the course with 9 relaxation journeys & a 21 day 10 minute challenge.

AloeWithUs

Improve your health and well-being and help reduce climate change. AloeWithUs is a home-based company in West Kirby sharing the benefits of superior quality pure inner leaf aloe Vera gel based products. Aloe is the lifeblood of Forever, The Aloe Vera company. Their aloe fields are where our journey begins. With over 50 million aloe vera plants in their aloe fields they are able to cleanse the earth of hundreds of millions of tons of carbon dioxide every year. In fact, they are a CARBON NEGATIVE COMPANY! Did you know one aloe barbadensis millar plant is equivalent to 20 trees? Changes in the climate are not something new. In the past, natural factors, such as volcanic eruptions and El Nino, caused fluctuations in the temperature and rainfall. What is new, is the influence of humans on climate change. We drive our cars, are heating our homes when it is cold outside, and use energy to cook. These day-to-day actions cause the emission of greenhouse gases, such as methane and carbon. These gases prevent the heat admitted by the Earth to escape, causing global warming. Recent studies show but nature-based solutions can contribute up to 35% of carbon emission intake required to keep global warming below 2 degrees Celsius. Vegetation causes the sequestration of carbon, decreasing the amount of carbon in the atmosphere and subsequently reducing the greenhouse effect,

/aloewithus /aloewithus

ultimately leading to the mitigation of global warming. Vegetation also causes cooling of the soil, decreasing the evaporation of water from the soil leading to increased water availability for plants, animals and humans. In addition, greening stimulates the water cycle, causing increased rainfall and the retention of water in the soil. This increased in the soil moisture content makes the land available for agriculture again, producing food and income for local communities. How is AloeWithUs helping? By simply swapping your skin care, daily personal care and well-being products, sharing with your colleagues, friends and family YOU ARE SUPPORTING OUR PLANET AND HELPING YOUR FAMILY TO LOOK AND FEEL BETTER. Coping with grief at Christmas For some, Christmas is not the time to be jolly. For some people, this Christmas will be filled with sad memories of someone close who is no longer here. Facing your first Christmas without someone you love can be a very lonely and daunting time. There may be expectations that you will put up the Christmas tree, send out greeting cards, go out Christmas shopping and join family and friends for Christmas dinner... especially because others want to see you coping and moving on. But when you’re grieving this can be really difficult. You may have no inclination or energy to ‘pretend’ that you are looking forward to Christmas when in truth you wish things were the way they were last year - when you were still together with your loved one. On the other hand, some people want to handle Christmas time by doing things in the same way as always - not changing anything and keeping to the same routines and family rituals. Keeping to the familiar gives them comfort. Allow yourself to have fun. It doesn't mean you've forgotten the person or that your grief for them is over. When you’re grieving, everyone handles their emotions and reactions differently. Here are three tips if you’re facing the dilemma of how to handle this Christmas: 1. Give yourself permission not to do the things that you’re finding hard to do - writing Christmas cards, putting up the tree, going to Christmas parties - it’s alright to let these go this year or next, until you can cope with social events again.

31

BEING

2. Make a point of remembering your loved one in a special way - light a candle for them on Christmas Day, place an ornament on the Christmas tree to symbolise them, buy a gift for a needy child or family in place of the gift you would have bought. 3. Allow yourself to grieve - the days leading up to Christmas (and other significant days on the calendar) can heighten your grief. Seeing other couples and families together just hurts. Seeing the empty place at the Christmas table will be hard to bear. It’s alright to cry and let people , jthat it’s 4. Hard living without someone special. Try not to bottle up your feelings. Now’s the time to tell a close friend that you’re struggling to put on a happy face and that you'd appreciate their company or simply their listening ear for support. And if you know someone who is grieving this Christmas, give them a call, write them a special card, invite them over for a quiet get together, speak up and acknowledge their loss, and have the courage to mention the name of their loved one … and let them know that you understand that it may be a hard time for them because it’s Christmas… and there are memory triggers everywhere of a missing face, an empty chair and silent thoughts of the way Christmas used to be. Therapy is an opportunity to explore your feelings and memories without judgment. No loss is too big or too small to warrant support. You do not have to endure your grief alone www.castle-therapy.co.uk, castle_therapy@icloud.com or 07394 973981.

90a Market Street, Hoylake, Wirral 0151 633 2717 | www.babylicious.org With Christmas fast approaching and the effects of covid still evident, it's never been so important to support each other and our local businesses. Babylicious being one of my favorites. Not only are they dear family friends but I once began my working life for them many years ago. They really do offer everything for your baby needs. Let me introduce you to Babylicious. We believe Buying the right products for your unborn child should be a fun an enjoyable experience at this most special time in your lives. So if you're looking for the care and attention you deserve at this amazing time, then pop into our showroom. The store was originally located in Moreton on the Wirral, then moved to larger premises in Hoylake 14 years ago, Its is now run by Ian and Sharon son and daughter of Joan and Anthony the founders all those years ago. Sadly Anthony passed away on November 1st 2012 leaving Ian in charge. This was obviously a very upsetting time on all the family and has given us some time to reflect on the what the family and store has been over the years. Joan although semi retired, can usually be found around somewhere talking to customers or just chatting away, too well really anyone that will listen lol, some of which are our second or third generation, and to all of you we thank you for all you valued custom and recommendations over the years. So now a new chapter for Babylicious is about to continue!

Having a baby is all about product knowledge. By coming into a smaller independent store as first time parents you can learn so much more than just reading reviews and blogs etc and who won what in which competition or magazine or going into larger competitors who usually only know their own ranges or market leading brands. This is an ever changing industry with new technologies and safety standards out every year! What might seem like a bargain might not be at all!! Here at Babylicious we are lucky to have Ian, who has grown up within the nursery industry and has been asked to be on the BPA (Baby Products association) committee and is the only committee member from a independent store out of 10 member from all sectors of the nursery industry.he has no intention of leaving and they have no intention of letting him go his roles entail :To help judge the concept and innovation awards every year, this is a short list compiled down from thousands of applicants with new ideas that will come to market through private finance or investment from within the industry, to bring you the customers the best of what is to have for your children in the future. Most importantly though is his role as a Banta judge. this is where all companies are asked to enter there own products into the awards, to be stringently compared to each other, an be judged by 10 separate ambassadors for the industry, as to what is the best within the industry. With this insight Ian is always shopping two years ahead

of what is coming to market in the future, and has helped many companies come to sell there products within the UK.
