Cosas alucinantes están pasando con vuestra querida MOVE. Después de más de año y medio de arduo trabajo (no os podéis imaginar que duro ha sido levantar este proyecto entre dos personas, la que redacta incluso sintió las primeras contracciones antes de dar a luz estando aún sentada, o mejor dicho clavada frente a la pantalla de su ordenador, y además todo esto en tiempos de crisis), y lejos de desanimarnos por muy difíciles que se pongan las cosas a veces, os anunciamos que muy pronto esperamos poder ofreceros una revista mucho más completa, con más páginas y todo lo que esperarías encontrar en la revista única y fuera de clichés que siempre hemos pretendido ser.

Artista como ninguna, Bibian no sólo tiene el título de diseñadora de la Academia Internacional de la Moda en Barcelona sino que además realizó estudios en la renombrada escuela de maquillaje Stick Art Studio, en la misma ciudad. De este modo, aparte de diseñar unos modelitos que seguro dejan boquiabierto a cualquier Gaultier o semejante que se ponga por delante, es capaz de realizar y dirigir enteramente gran parte de las producciones fotográficas con las que a menudo promociona sus colecciones.
Artist like no other, Bibian has not just qualifications as a designer by the International Fashion Academy of Barcelona but also as a make-up artist by the renowned school in the same city Stick Art Studio. So this way, apart from designing clothes that would leave breathless Gaultier himself, she’s able to entirely execute and direct most of the photographic productions which she often promotes her collections with. She already started with strength, when in 2000 presented her first fashion show, earning a well deserved place in the underground European scene and participating in countless festivals. One year later she was opening her shop in Barcelona, a place that reminds you more like the coolest shops in London than any of the shops in the city where she was born. La crème de la crème from theatre, music or cinema has visited her, and celebrities like Cristina Piaget or The Cure’s guitarrist Porl Thompson haven’t been able to resist her stunning creations.

La crème de la crème del teatro, la música o el cine ha pasado por ella, y celebridades como Cristina Piaget o el guitarrista de The Cure, Porl Thompson, no han podido resistirse a sus modelazos.
Enamorada desde siempre de esa prenda mágica, fetiche máximo que realza la belleza femenina como ninguna otra, el corsette está presente siempre en sus diseños, ya sea por separado o como parte de un conjunto o vestido completo. En su amplísimo catálogo los encontrarás elegantísimos, sobrios y también barrocos, góticos, coloristas e incluso a veces en una linea más inconformista... Hace un par de ediciones os hablábamos de RAPHAEL y VANCE, dos chicos la mar de simpáticos que han llegado desde Londres a Lanzarote con un producto exclusivo y delicioso que si no habéis probado aún, no sabéis lo que os estáis perdiendo. PASTEL VOLCANO sigue una tradicional receta de Rumanía y se presenta en distintas variedades: Coco, canela, chocolate, nueces, semillas de sésamo... Many are the rumours regarding to ERUPTION Festival that have crossed the island from end to end during the last three months. What was just a project, has now started to taking shape. And now we can at last announce you, that this macro-event which will take place in 2011 (exact dates yet to precise) in the marvellous volcanic island, has finally been approved by the different political authorities of Lanzarote. The truth is that we have received with great satisfaction the positive answer from the new Government in Lanzarote.

Nuestro fotógrafo y colaborador en UK, Scott Cole, nos ha sorprendido recientemente con unas fabulosas instantáneas de rollito urbano que nos muestran a un gran artista del graffiti en plena acción. Lo que podéis apreciar en este reportaje no es algo fácil de captar con una cámara, puesto que todavía hoy hablamos de un arte puramente callejero (casi un deporte también, cuando la policía está siguiéndote la pista a la vuelta de la esquina y debes marcharte volando) que aunque cada vez más reconocido, sigue practicándose mayormente de forma clandestina, cosa que por otro lado, proporciona a quienes lo practican cierto morbillo y adrenalina extra, además de la ocasión de contar con orgullo qué bueno fue cubrir la pared entera sin ser descubiertos. Sin enrollarnos más, os presentamos este mes a todo un icono en la escena del Graffiti en Gales. We were really surprised with the last fabulous pictures of our photographer and co-worker in UK, Scott Cole who was able to catch a great Graffiti artist in action. What you can see in this report it’s not something easy to get with a camera, due to the fact that this is purely a street art (almost an sport as well, since you have to rush off in case of being tracked by the police who can be just around the corner, hu?) that even everyday more and more recognized, it continues being done most of the times in a clandestine and secret way, something which on the other hand, gives to those who practice it some extra adrenaline dose, besides the occasion of telling proudly how good it was to be able to cover that wall entirely before being discovered. Ok, let’s stop going on and on, and let’s introduce you a total icon on the Wales Graffiti scene.

A sus veinti-pocos se podría decir que se inició en el mundo del Graffiti un poco tarde, pero eso no quita que comparta pared y sprays con algunos de los más reconocidos rotulistas de este género como son Birdie, Smack o Nerve. Su máxima fuente de inspiración la encuentra en la obra de los integrantes de la respetada banda en Cardiff “CVK”, Rmer, Hoxe, Skroe y Solve. Todos ellos son gente que ha influenciado considerablemente la escena graffitera mundial y que llevan pintando incansablemente desde los 80. Si bien pinta tanto personajes como letras, disfruta más con los primeros, que vienen a representar mejor parte de su mente. A estas alturas, Rarebit ha cruzado el país de punta a punta, pintando junto a los mejores, pero también recibe encargos pagados por parte de discotecas, bares musicales y otro tipo de negocios que sin duda ayudan a que pueda seguir viviendo de su creativo hábito. Lejos de conformarse con esto, nuestro intrépido artista de la calle ha encauzado su talento hacia la primera EURO LEAGUE COMPETITION donde ha participado junto al “Secret Wars Team”. “El Graffiti sigue siendo ilegal en UK, así que nosotros, los graffiteros, no solemos usar nuestro nombre real para mantener la identidad en secreto entre el público en general.
RAREBIT felt attracted for the first time by the urban art whilst studying Illustration at University just 3 years ago (in this case noone can say the graffiters have no studies). Being at that time in his early twenty’s he would be considered a “late starter” in the Graffiti world, but this hasn’t mean any problem for him at the time to share spray and wall with some of the most recognized “writters” in this genre: Birdie, Smack, Nerve. He also takes much of his inspiration from the well respected Cardiff based crew ‘CVK’ which is made up of, Rmer, Hoxe, Skroe and Solve. All of them are a massive influence in the graffiti world and have been actively doing their thing since the 1980’s. Rarebit almost exclusively enjoys painting characters as opposed to writing letters. Some of these, maybe giving an insight into the mind of this talented young artist. To this day Rarebit has traveled up and down the country painting with some of the most highly respected painters in the UK, even he also regularly receives commissions from clubs, pubs and other businesses which help financially to support his creative habit. Taking his talent in other directions Rarebit has made his way onto the Cardiff ‘Secret Wars Team’ for the first EURO LEAGUE COMPETITION. Winning his first match against Hamburg he hopes to get an equally positive result against Amsterdam at the end of March. En sus casi 22 años de carrera y 8 albums a sus espaldas, le han cantado al amor (son oscuros pero tan románticos como tú y como yo), ya sea por su lado más idílico como por el más catastrófico y dramático, a los sueños, a la muerte, al miedo pero también a la esperanza... Con unas letras trabajadas, la música que las acompaña está del mismo modo elaborada, sus videoclips y sesiones de fotos son “de cine”, con un acabado surrealista y un detallismo que está a la altura de sus arrasadores directos, en los que ofrecen un espectáculo admirable, a veces de puro cabaret gótico. IN STRICT CONFIDENCE son una banda alemana de Electro-Industrial que lleva desde finales de los 80 dando mucha guerra. La verdad es que nosotros personalmente los descubrimos algo tarde, allá por el 2006, cuando los añadimos a nuestros contactos en Myspace al llamarnos la atención la foto en su perfil. Únicos e inclasificlables, no es de extrañar que hayan llegado como pocas bandas germanas a cautivar al público americano, que si bien uno de los más exigentes especialmente con ciertos géneros musicales, rápidamente cayó rendido ante el talento y de esta formación que varia en el número y género de sus componentes dependiendo del rumbo que toma cada una de sus producciones, aunque detrás de la composición y producción son 3 las figuras indispensables: Dennis Ostermann, Jörg Schelte y Steve.
Su último CD doble “La Parade Monstrueuse” acaba de salir al mercado, y en él fusionan Electro, Techno, Darkwave, con ciertos toques guitarreros y sintetizadores que seguro te despiertan el gusanillo de la nostalgia de los 80-90. Con 21 temas y en edición limitada, deberias darte prisa si quieres tener esta edición que además de musicón, incluye 2 videoclips, 6 postales, 2 pegatinas, 1 parche y una chapa. Vamos, que la cosa viene completita. Como broche de oro nos presentan además a la nueva cantante Nina de Lianin, que no sólo es rabiosamente sexy,además tiene una voz que te embruja a la primera sílaba cantada.
Ellos son el alma mater de ISC aunque la banda se reinventa una y otra vez, eso sí, rodeándose siempre de los mejores profesionales, artistas todos ellos polifacéticos y camaleónicos que se adaptan a la perfección a cualquiera que sea el papel requerido.
Anunciamos en exclusiva que posiblemente les veáis muy pronto en la isla, programados en el cartelazo de lujo que prepara ya la organización de ERUPTION Fair & Festival, programado para el 2011, fechas exactas como comentamos en otro artículo, aún por determinar.

They are the driving force of ISC, even the band re-invents itself over and over, but always working with the best professionals, all of them multitalented and chamaleonlike artists who perfectly adapt to whatever is the required role. In Strict Confidence are an Electro-Industrial German band which has been kicking the asses since the late 80’s. The truth is in our case, we discovered them a bit late, sometime in 2006, when we added them to our contacts on Myspace because the pic of their profile catched our attention. Unique and unclassifiable, it’s not strange that they had been able like not many German bands, to captivate the American audience, which although being one of the most demanding and specially with some musical genres, rapidly fell in love with the talent of this band that changes the genre and number of its members depending on the course each of the productions take, even behind the composition and production are 3 the indispensable figures: Dennis Ostermann, Jörg Schelte and Steve.

In the few months that it’s open, EQUILIBRIUM has been crowded every weekend. The key? The wise combination of decoration, a good musical offer and the extrovert and friendly character of the owners. As the name itself indicates, a perfect balance (equilibrium) is what you perceive and breath once you cross the door. The best thing is that they haven’t counted on anybody to decorate their venue. Ana, who’s such a great creative, has handpainted herself all the artwork you can see on the walls.

Los cómodos sofás y puffs que hay te invitan realmente a que te apoltrones en ellos como si estuvieses en el propio salón de tu casa. Las noches de fin de semana la cosa da un giro de 180º y este rinconcito hedonista se convierte en uno de los bares musicales más punteros de la isla, con un ambientazo en su pista que está a la altura de cualquier buena discoteca.

Desde el 2005 subió el listón participando en los “Triatlones Sprint y Olímpicos” y actualmente anda metido por aquello de no estar parado, en el “Circuito Canario Triatlón” y en las pruebas provinciales del “Circuito Canario Acuatlón”. Todo esto no es tarea fácil y requiere de un sacrificio que cumple cada semana religiosamente con ayuda de un preparador personal que le organiza los entrenamientos para nado, bicicleta y atletismo. Federado en “Club Costa Teguise Triatlón”, no le faltan buenos patrocinadores como CLUB LA SANTA, SANDS BEACH RESORT, TRIBIKE, UEIIS.COM, FUERTEGYM e incluso nuestra revista MOVE.
Comprometido con la idea de que los más jóvenes amen el deporte como algo del todo necesario para la salud y el bienestar personal, se encuentra hoy día trabajando como monitor de niños y adolescentes. We present you a triathlete who Lanzarote must feel proud of, sure. JOSÉ ISRAEL CARABALLO NIEVES was born 34 years ago with a clear destiny: To become an icon of the “conejero” sport. An enthusiast of sports already when he was still in his school age, he has worked as an instructor for different centres, and became a regular competitor of several marathons, insular and national triathlons and of course of the famous “Ironman Lanzarote”, recognized as one of the hardest competitions worldwide. An expert in various sportive disciplines, he swam across the sea in the competitions which go from Lanzarote to Fuerteventura (2004) and viceversa (2005). And he did it as it nothing had happened. We try the same and we wouldn’t tell it. On 2005 he decided to set his standards higher and participated in the “Triatlones Sprint y Olímpicos”. Today, and because he really likes to have always something to do, he is busy with the “Circuito Canario Triatlón” and the qualifying heats for the “Circuito Canario Acuatlón”.
Not an easy job, to be prepared for such competitions demand a sacrifice he religiously fulfill every week with the help of a personal trainer who organizes his trainings of swimming, bike and athletics. Federated in “Club Costa Teguise Triatlón”, he has good sponsors on his side, like CLUB LA SANTA, SANDS BEACH RESORT, TRIBIKE, FUERTEGYM, UEIIS.COM or even our mag MOVE. Really commited to the idea of getting the youngsters love sports like something absolutely necessary for their personal health and welfare, he’s currently working as instructor of children and teenagers. Su estreno dejó bastante que desear en USA, pero impactó considerablemente en el resto del mundo, y aunque aún hoy tiene miles de detractores, es imposible imaginar una lista de films de culto sin BLADE RUNNER. Es cierto que es algo lenta y pesada en muchas escenas, que esperas más acción, e incluso puede que su argumento te resulte vacio. Aún así, la estética retro-futurista en que se basa la película, ha enamorado a varias generaciones. Considerada todo un ejemplo de cine neo-noir, su impacto cultural, estético e histórico no pasa desapercibido. En esta especie de bucle nostálgico que vivimos y que parece vaya a repetirse una y otra vez a no ser que nuestra imaginación evolucione a otra cosa, su look cyber-punk está totalmente en la linea de lo que podemos ver en cualquier ciudad de nuestro querido y modernísimo mundo civilizado. La sofocante y abarrotada metropolis de Los Ángeles no parece muy distinta en el futuro de Scott de lo que es hoy. Y seguramente dentro de varias décadas casi nada haya cambiado sustancialmente.
Its premiere in USA was not really a success, but it had a profound impact in the rest of the world and even having still today many detractors, it’s impossible to imagine a list of cult movies where BLADE RUNNER wasn’t included. It’s true that sometimes it gets a bit slow and heavy, and that it doesn’t has the action you expect to find in this type of movie, and maybe it’s possible that you find the story quite vacuous.
But the retro-futuristic aesthetics that floods the whole movie, has made several generations fell in love with it. Considered as a leading example of neo-noir genre, its cultural, aesthetic and historical influence is really significant. In this kind of nostalgic loop we are living and which seems to become a recurrent repetition at least until our imagination evolves into a different thing, the cyber-punk look present on this movie continues fitting perfectly with what we see nowadays in any of the cities of our dear modern and civilizied world.

Los Ángeles, 2019.
