Highlights and Actions of the Missouri Veterinary Medical Foundation

The Missouri Veterinary Medical Foundation met Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the MVMA Convention in Columbia, MO. The following are highlights:

All formal actions were moved and seconded by board members, and all motions carried unless otherwise noted.

• Reviewed and approved the agenda for the January 26, 2023 meeting.

• Reviewed and approved the minutes of the September 10, 2022 meeting.

• Reviewed and approved the treasurer’s report.

• New lighting for the Veterinary Museum is being discussed and looked into.

• The grant committee discussed 2022 recipients. 2023 grant applications are now live and being accepted.

• April 2023 Honor Roll Inductions:

• Dr. Gayla Whittle - nominated by Dr. Lynn Martin

• Dr. Dale Grotelueschen - nominated by Dr. Greg Popp

• Dr. Carol Ryan - 2023 Veterinarian of the Year

• The board discussed creating an Amazon Wish List for the Foundation Silent Auction. Board members can add items they think would be popular bid items and those wishing to donate can do so through amazon.

• The Foundation has started a new electronic newsletter to be sent out quarterly to MVMA members. This enews will help highlight and promote MVMF and it’s programs.

• Dr. Catherine Webb and Dr. Cindy Vedder was appointed as 2024 per annum members.

• Dr. Greg Popp and Dr. Roger Dozier was recognized for their many years of service on the MVMF board. This was their last year serving.

• The next Foundation Board meeting is scheduled to be on Saturday, April 29, 2023 immediately following the Honor Roll Induction(s).
