from the MoVta
MoVTA is excited to offer several opportunities for virtual CE that is FREE to members! Some of the upcoming topics include: FLUTD and Urinary Obstruction, and Common Household Toxins. Our board members are at work getting more virtual CE on the schedule so keep an eye on our website for updates. Know of a veterinary technology student currently enrolled at an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program? Encourage them to become a member of MoVTA (student membership is FREE!). MoVTA offers a yearly scholarship for current students and would love to have more students involved in the organization! We are looking for nominations for MoVTA Veterinary Technician of the Year! This award was created to honor, recognize, and encourage outstanding service in the veterinary technician profession. This honor is awarded annually to one technician within the state who exemplifies professionalism, expertise, and compassion in our field. This individual has shown outstanding leadership, dedication to animal welfare, and has gone above and beyond the call of duty in the veterinary technician profession. The award will consist of an award plaque presented at the annual MOVTA conference, $100, and complementary MOVTA membership for the next membership year. All nominations will be reviewed by the MOVTA board and remain confidential. The award recipient will receive a copy of his/her letters of nomination and the letters may be published in the MOVTA Newsletter. Visit https://movta.org/members-area/vet-techof-the-year for more information! Our membership runs from June 1-May 31 of each year. Please encourage your veterinary technicians to become members of their state association! Student membership is free! If you are a hospital manager and are interested in membership for all of your technical staff we do offer group memberships. Please find more information at https://movta.org/login/group-memberships or email us at memberships@movta.org with any questions. You can also find us on Facebook at @MoVetTechAssoc. We are always looking for energetic veterinary technicians to serve within our organization. Please encourage your vet techs to become involved today!
