Resident* and Nonresident Card Information

A Resident (R) or Nonresident (NR) Card is required in order to enter any Wentzville Parks and Recreation facility and allows us to better track attendance at our facilities. Nonresident Cards will expire after one year.

Resident Cards enable Wentzville residents to access recreation facilities, recreation programs and classes at discounted resident prices. Cards can be obtained at the WREC, Progress Park Recreation Center, Wentzville Ice Arena and Splash Station (during the season). Each resident must have a Resident Card in order to access the facilities at the resident rate.

Rates and Hours WREC

Resident and Nonresident Definitions

Wentzville residents are those living within the city limits of the City of Wentzville. City limits and Post Office boundaries are not the same, so it’s possible to have a Wentzville address yet live outside the City. A Family Annual Pass consists of two adults and three children, 22 years of age or younger, living in the same household. More children may be added to a pass for an additional fee.

WREC Passes

• Active military and Veterans can receive a $40 military discount on any WREC Pass except Youth.

• A WREC Pass paid in monthly installments must be active for six months after which the pass can be canceled at any time for a $25 fee.

• The additional household member fee is a one-time charge of $30/40 per additional household member and is good for an entire year.

• The WREC Outdoor Aquatics Season Pass Upgrade Fee is in addition to the WREC Annual Pass Fee allowing admission to Progress Park Pool and Splash Station Aquatics Center during the regular outdoor pool season. It is available on all passes except Senior Couple.

• Summer and Winter Break Passes only apply to individuals ages 16 and older.

Parks and Recreation Board

This volunteer advisory group to the Board of Aldermen, Mayor and Director of Parks and Recreation, serves as a sounding board by holding public meetings and exercising influence throughout the City to improve and expand recreational opportunities. Members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Board of Aldermen for a three-year term. The Parks and Recreation Board (PARB) meets at 6:30P on the first Monday of each month at Wentzville City Hall (1001 Schroeder Creek Blvd.). The meetings are open to the public. Meeting agendas are provided on the City’s website at www.wentzvillemo.gov/Agendas.

Tree Committee

Wentzville has been recognized for 13 consecutive years as a "Tree City USA" recipient. In the fall of 2014, Wentzville's Parks and Recreation Board created the Tree Committee, which reviews the City's tree and landscape ordinances. Art and Programs Committee

The Arts and Programs Committee of Wentzville, Missouri, is a volunteer nonprofit committee of the City’s Parks and Recreation Board. The Committee engages the community of Wentzville in an appreciation for art in its various forms. News, information and education are disseminated to the community by the committee to demonstrate the value of creativity and craft for generations to come.

When registering over the phone or online it is presumed that you agree to the following Hold Harmless Statement:

I hereby release and agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the City of Wentzville, Wentzville Parks and Recreation Department and the City's agents, employees, elected officials and volunteers from and against any and all liability, actions, causes of actions, claims, demands or lawsuits whatsoever resulting from or arising out of personal injuries, including death, loss of or damage to property or involving any impairment of or damage to any right because of or in any way related to the City resulting from my participation in this activity. I also authorize any photos/videos taken of myself and/or the participant, to be used in any publicity or promotional materials by the Wentzville Parks and Recreation Department.

Wentzville Parks & Recreation Register for a Program

Register Early

All programs must meet minimum enrollment in order to be offered. If there are not enough registrants, a course must be canceled. Unless otherwise noted, all registrations must be received a minimum of one week prior to the start of the first class. A late fee may apply for registrations after the program deadline listed. Wentzville Parks and Recreation reserves the right to cancel, postpone, combine classes or change instructors as needed. If a class is canceled due to lack of enrollment, registered class participants will be notified of an alternate class or program if one is available or a full refund check or credit slip will be processed within four weeks. Program pricing is often listed in an R/NR format where R stands for resident and NR stands for nonresident.

Payment and Returned Checks

Full payment is required at the time of registration, unless otherwise noted. Upon registering, customers agree to all rules, regulations and policies. A 2% surcharge will be added to all credit or debit card transactions. A $15 charge is applied for all returned payments and installment billing declines.

Field and Facility Rentals

Whether it's a family outing, corporate picnic, wedding or other special event, we make it easy for you to host your event. We have athletic fields, ice rinks, a banquet hall, pavilions, pools and more to meet your needs. Reservations are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Refund Guidelines

• A full (100%) refund, credit or transfer will be given if Wentzville Parks and Recreation cancels the program or rental.

• If the participant withdraws from the program before the first class or game,* the Department must receive a request and a full refund will be given, less a $10 administrative fee. The refund will be processed as a credit to the household account.** Credit can be used on future programs. A credit may be used by any member on the same household account.

• If the participant withdraws from the program any time after the first class or game, the Department requires a request and a prorated credit to the account will be given, less a $10 administrative fee.** No refunds will be issued after the program or session is half over.

• Refunds for medical reasons, requested prior to the start date of the program, will be granted a full refund** subject to verification.

• Any refunds processed for volunteer coaching will be applied to the household account for future purchases.

• An administrative cancellation fee of $10 will apply to all field rentals.

• A cancellation for a Progress Park Center reservation will forfeit the deposit.

• A gym or pavilion cancellation must be submitted at least thirty days prior to the reservation. A full refund will be issued minus a $10 administrative fee. Reservation cancellations submitted less than 30 days, but more than 14 days prior to the reservation will be refunded at 50% of the rental fee or the reservation can be rescheduled minus a $10 administrative fee. Reservation cancellations submitted less than 14 days prior to the reservation will forfeit the rental fee or the reservation can be rescheduled minus a $10 administrative fee.

• If a participant withdraws from a program after supplies or tickets have been purchased, the refund will be prorated minus these expenses.

*No refunds will be issued for adult leagues after the registration deadline.

**All youth league refunds will be less the cost of uniforms.

Ages: All Wentzville Parks and Recreation is excited to celebrate America's freedom!

Fourth of July Parade: The annual Fourth of July Parade starts at 10A at the Wentzville Ice Arena and travels south on Luetkenhaus Boulevard, turns right onto Pearce Boulevard and ends near Pearce Boulevard and Allen Street. Everyone is invited to participate in the parade by designing a float. The theme is, "America's Celebration." Floats will be judged for overall first, second and third place, along with Mayor’s Choice and Best Themed Entry for first and second place. Float registration is required; please visit www.wentzvillemo.gov/FourthOfJuly to register by the JUN 7 deadline. A $10 late fee will be applied to applications submitted after this date. Pricing for float registration varies upon the type of organization. This event is FREE to observe.

Fourth of July Free Swim at Progress Park Pool: Progress Park Pool Free Swim is available for Outdoor Aquatic Season Passholders and residents only. An Outdoor Aquatic Season Pass or a Resident Card is required to attend and must be presented upon entry to Progress Park Pool. Resident Cards cannot be obtained the day of the event. This event runs from 12-5P.

Fourth of July Fireworks: Bring a chair and watch the fireworks light up the sky at Progress Park! This will be the last year that fireworks are set off at this location. Next year we will invite you to a new location to watch this amazing display! Fireworks will start at 9:30P.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL SPLASH

Splash Station Aquatic Center Ages: All Ages

The Wentzville Parks and Recreation Department and Wentzville Fire Protection District have once again teamed up to provide your student with one final Back-to-School Splash to celebrate a great end to summer and a bright, new beginning to the school year. Only 800 tickets are available. All who preregister will receive a hot dog, bag of chips and a bottle of water. All pool rules apply for this two-hour event.

The Western St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce will also host an End-of-Summer Bash during this event. Please stop by their booth as school supplies and personal-care items will be available until they are gone.

*You must preregister by JUL 31 or pay $5 at the door the day of, if tickets are available. Day-of registration does not include a food ticket.

Splash Station Aquatic Center Ages: All Ages Bring man's best friend to Splash Station Aquatic Center for this oncea-year chance for your canine friend to enjoy the pool like the rest of Wentzville's residents and beat the heat. Each dog will receive a snack and have a chance to win door prizes. You must preregister your dog by AUG 28 to be guaranteed a snack. All dogs must be leashed while out of the water. Visitors will take a guided tour that encompasses the history of the farm and provides an overview of the flowers grown while walking the perimeter of the field. Participants will participate in a workshop where they will create their own lavender infused oil to take home. Lunch is provided on-site. Martial arts classes teach students focus, discipline and respect for themselves and others. Using traditional Taekwondo along with elements of karate and boxing, students will gain coordination, strength and balance. Our program teaches techniques, practical self-defense, anti-abduction, sparring and provides weapons training for the family. SWIM LEVELS

JELLYFISH

Ages: Toddler (6-23 Months)

This level develops a child’s comfort in and around water and prepares them to help build water acclimation. Skills to be mastered with assistance: blowing bubbles, kicking, floating on back with parent support and swimming motions with parent support. Child must be at least 6 months old. Parent or guardian accompanies the child in the pool throughout the sessions. Participant to instructor ratio is 10:1. (Min 4/Max 10)

GUPPY

Ages: Toddler (2-3)

This transitional class is for children who are not quite ready to be in the water independently and are working on building that independence. For the first four lessons the parents will join the children in the water helping them stay involved in the lesson and participating. During the last four lessons, children will enter and participate in the class independently as they master introductory skills and learn safe practices. Participant to instructor ratio 6:1. (Min 3/Max 6)

SEA TURTLE

Ages: Preschool (Ages 3-4)

This level intends to develop a child’s comfort in and around water. Skills to be mastered: front and back kick with instructor support, submerge head, feet-first jump and entering and exiting the pool unassisted. Participant to instructor ratio 5:1. (Min 3/Max 5)

STINGRAY

Ages: Level 1 (Ages 5+)

This level helps maintain water independence and begins teaching basic swim strokes. Skills to be mastered: front and back kick with instructor support, feet-first jump, submerge head, basic breaststroke arm movements, entering and exiting the pool unassisted, and back float with instructor support. Participant to instructor ratio 6:1. (Min 3/Max 6)

MARLIN

Ages: Level 2 (Ages 5+)

This level is for those who are comfortable in the water and are ready to become more independent swimmers mainly focusing on breaststroke and backstroke movements. Skills to be mastered: submerge head and face, front and back kick without support, and basic front and back stroke. Participant to instructor ratio 6:1. (Min 3/Max 6)

WALRUS

Ages: Level 3 (Ages 5+)

This level will further develop strokes and build breathing technique and endurance. Skills to be mastered: submerge head, front crawl with rhythmic breathing, basic front and back crawl. This class may spend time in water 7-12 feet deep. Participant to instructor ratio 6:1. (Min 3/Max 6)

DOLPHIN

Ages: Level 4 (Ages 5+)

This level intends to perfect front stroke, backstroke and elementary backstroke. Skills to be mastered: treading water for 60 seconds and basic performance of breaststroke and sidestroke. This class spends time in water 7-12 feet deep. Participant to instructor ratio 8:1. (Min 3/Max 8)

SHARK

Ages: Level 5 (Ages 5+)

This level is the most advanced swim level and focuses almost entirely on technique and preparation for swim team or fitness swimming. Students in this level have learned and put together all strokes, but need further assistance in perfecting them and swimming more efficiently. Skills to be mastered: advancement in basic stroke skill, tread water for two minutes without using hands, retrieve brick from bottom of pool, flip turns, basic butterfly stroke, starts and entries. Participant to instructor ratio 8:1. (Min 3/Max 8)

TOT SWIM

Splash Station Aquatic Center Ages: 6 and Under Children ages 6 and under are invited to enjoy their own special time with their parents at Splash Station Aquatic Center before the pool opens to the general public. Beginning JUN 5 through AUG 7, the Recreation Pool and Wet Deck Playground will be open to parents and their children ages 6 and under every Wednesday from 10:45-11:45A. Daily admission fee or Outdoor Aquatic Season Pass is required for entry. Guests must leave the facility at 11:45A and may re-enter once the park opens for normal operation at noon.

This 30-minute class will build confidence on and off the ice and teach balance, coordination and the fundamentals of skating. Classes are held Thursdays at 4:50P or 5:20P or Saturdays at 10:20A or 11A, depending on age. Registration includes skate rental and a punch card for admission to eight public skate sessions. No classes OCT 5 or OCT 31.

Our Youth Hockey League is for players in the 8U and 10U divisions who are either new to hockey or are looking for a recreational team. This league will offer a total of 12 games during the eight-week session. Games will consist of two games played during the one-hour time period. Games will be played between 5:30-7:30P. The registration fee will include a team jersey. Players must wear full protective equipment. (Min 72/Max 90)

Learn the basics of skating including how to fall down and get up off and on the ice as well as how to march forward. (Min 4/Max 15)

Learn building block skating skills forward and backward as well as how to glide forward and build confidence. (Min 3/Max 10)

Get more involved in skating forward and backward and begin edge work of the skate blades with an introduction to stopping. (Min 3/Max 10)

During on-ice instruction with our coaches, skaters will learn the disciplines of basic skating skills, edges, jumps, and spins, with a portion of time allotted for the skaters' own practice. Additionally, the camp will feature off-ice conditioning and a segment dedicated to office jumps to introduce more complex skills. Participants must be in Beginner 3, Gamma, or Pre Pre Singles or higher to register for this camp. Skaters should come with skates and tennis shoes for off-ice portions. (Min 6/Max 25)

Heartland Park Ages: 3-14

This recreational soccer league is offered for children of all abilities. Registration is based on birth year. All participants will receive a jersey and soccer ball. Participants in divisions U4-U7 will receive an award at the end of the season. The top two teams in the U8-U14 divisions will receive an award at the end of the season. Game times vary each week beginning no earlier than 8A. All age divisions will be scheduled for seven games, with a six-game guarantee. Make-up games may be played on Sundays or other days if needed. YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP

Heartland Park Ages: 4-11

Join the Wentzville Wildcats for this three-day, two-hour football camp. Each day will be a fun and new aspect of tackle football. Campers will be taught basic football skills by Wentzville Wildcats coaches. They will learn the basic three-point stance, different offensive and defensive positions, drive blocking, passing, hand-offs, hole numbers and defense. Certified coaches will teach USA Football's Heads Up Tackling. Parents are more than welcome to learn this safe way of tackling. Every child that registers before the deadline will receive a camp T-shirt. (Min 5/Max 75)

We are always on the lookout for volunteer coaches for our youth sports teams. Head coaches will receive one free child registration for each team they coach in any sport. The Wentzville Ice Arena is a COOL place to have a party! Party on the Ice takes place during weekend Public Skate and includes a two-hour private party room in addition to admission to skate and skate rental.

Party at the Pool includes pool admission for all guests and a reserved spot to celebrate the birthday child. Parties take place outdoors at Progress Park Pool, Splash Station Aquatic Center and indoors during open swim time at the WREC.
