Rebecca Michelle Lee has studied art in Italy and has degrees in art and business. As an independent artist, Rebecca presents workshops as well as creating fine art. Formerly the 2nd Saturday Coordinator for the Media Arts Council, locals know her better by her nickname, “Becky Lee.” She is now currently the Resident Artist of Blueberry Bog vintage & handmade.

“For any of my work to succeed I cannot create on my terms. When I observe my own surrender I feel the joy of the Creator, like I am sharing secrets with God. The more I can remove of myself in the process the more sincere the work will be.”

“I have played along the banks of Crum & Ridley Creek since 1969. As a professional potter I relish the opportunity to visit my old stomping grounds to gather clay. I process the clay that I harvest to create functional pottery that wants to be held & caressed by loving hands.” Deane’s work is available at a variety of galleries and in many domestic and international collections.

Myra Reichel started learning weaving in 1970 at the University of the Arts. She is listed in Who’s Who in American Art, and her work has been exhibited in museums, galleries and fine craft markets. Tyler Arboretum is the antidote—650 magnificent acres of blossoms, birds, butterflies and towering trees in the heart of Delaware County. Tyler may be serene, but it’s far from passive. Tyler boasts over 100 programs, exhibits and special events annually—for both children and adults—from spring flowers to fall pumpkin days. Patrons can participate in weekly guided bird and wildflower walks; historic rambles; and woodland, wetland and meadow hikes. Or, visitors can feel free to navigate independently the over 20 miles of marked trails. Getting disconnected has never sounded so exquisite. Like any board of directors, the one at Tyler sets policies for the staff to implement—but with one big difference, stresses third-year Board of Trustees president Jeffry Cadorette: “We as board members are stewards and privileged to be so.” Inspired by the significant, philanthropic contributions from BiIl Strine and his wife Judy—herself a previous board member for nine years—as well as by his own very personal dedication to nature, Jeffry believes strongly that “the torch has been passed to us.” This means having a very “hands-on” board to help stimulate an understanding of our living world. As such, the board has “ramped up” education in recent years to make Tyler more of a destination for children and families and has implemented successful fundraising, like the Arboretum’s signature fundraiser begun by Bill and Jeffry nine years ago: Tyler at Twilight, an under-the-stars silent and live auction. Both of these efforts—and the board’s myriad others— are transforming Tyler from a “hidden jewel” into a regional destination. And not just with dollars.
