A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
WHAT IS DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT PROGRAM?
nicole min seon park I spent three years in the Design and Management (BBA) undergraduate program at the Parsons School of Design exploring the entrepreneurial and strategic aspects of design, as well as in design aspects of business. Project-based studio and seminar courses integrate business, design, and liberal arts education, promoting interdisciplinary learning through wide-ranging research and collaborative work.
PROJECT-DRIVEN LEARNING The four-year curriculum encompasses introductory and advanced courses in strategic thinking and management in design and business; innovation and sustainability research; quantitative thinking, data analysis, and financial management; critical reasoning through reading and writing, visual communication, and information design; scenario planning; and entrepreneurship and leadership. Course formats include lecture with discussion sections, seminars, and studios, offering a range of learning experiences emphasizing individual and group work, project-driven learning and special workshops, as well as field-based research. In Senior Seminar and Thesis classes, students research and analyze both economic and cultural aspects of the marketing and management of designed objects, environments, and experiences.

SERVICE DESIGN
about my work Graphic design is a creative process that combines art and technology to communicate ideas. My works shows a variety of communication tools in order to convey a message to inform, persuade, organize, stimulates, locate, identify, attract attention and provide pleasure to a particular audience. The main tools used in most of my works are image and typography. Service Design is the field concerned with the development of services to meet specific needs. It is a creation of well thought through experience using combination of intangible and tangible medium. My project on Money Management combines technology that aims to provide a holistic service to the user.

Design thinking tools such as visualization techniques, rapid prototyping, and iterative exploration can be applied to a wide range of business issues including innovative concepts and strategies, streamlining processes, and strengthening communication at all levels within an organization.t relies on our ability to be intuitive, to recognize patterns, to construct ideas that are emotionally meaningful as well as functional, and to express ourselves through means beyond words or symbols. It brings together what is desirable from a human point of view with what is technologically feasible and economically viable.
IDENTITY & BRANDING & STRATEGIC PLANNING
The identity and positioning of is crucial for successful marketing. A strong identity does many things that affect the bottom line. The brand is the essence, the cornerstone, of what your clients/customers buy. It’s the articulation of why your product is different, better and special. It is very important to understand that branding is not about getting your target market to choose you over the competition, but it is about getting your prospects to see you as the only one that provides a solution to their problem.

Designing a online platform to explore local, regional, and global water issues. This website is to stimulate some of the most complex environmental challenges facing our community and out planet relating to conserving dwindling fresh water resources and ensuring the futre water supplies for growing human populations and agricultural demand.

“Pure. Cool. Freshly filtered water is necessary for our body” ‘Tap it’ water project aims to inform consumers to puchase less of bottled water and begin to make a habit of drinking tap water. There isno shortage of news stories on the merits of tap water and botted water from a variety of different perspective. The truth is, while tap water and botted water are regulated differently, both are generally safe, healthy choices. But only tap water delievers public health protection, fire protection, support for the economy, and the overall quality of life we enjoy. It is important to remember that whatever you choose to drink, the water are filtered before handed down to us.

‘ Giving new meaning to personalized Health Care In our healthcare system users will all have an equal variety of choice that applies to ser¬vices offered and what rates are charged.
DETAILS
The “build-a-rate” healthcare card that Health Wealth provides would function the same way as a debit card or phone card. Users would put money on it then choose from a wide range of services and medical services they desired to be covered from their doctors visit and then the service can be charged. This is a dis¬posable card and a pay-as-you-go basis. The card, much like different international calling rates, has different dollar amounts that increase due to severity of illness, but do not range the astronomical price that healthcare in a public/private system could. The benefits are economic and practical. With the card there’s a simple system to allow the public to avoid paying for services they don’t want or can’t pay for.

Creating a mobile application that allows people to track all expenses easily without any effort.
DETAILS
Managing money can be as difficult as earning it. Proverbs like “A dollar save is a dollar earned” are awfully nice to read and quote but can be tough to put into practice. Starting to track the money you spend is one of the simplest first steps one can take. Once you see how much is going where, you will automatically scramble to cut down wasteful expenses. iSCAN intends to be a simple yet powerful online budget management tool that offers a clear view of any financial situation. Once the users scans the receipt, it will automatically categorizes the transaction and let’s the users set budget that will help achieve personal saving goals. It will not only categorize the purchased items but it will also notify the customers with a text alert system to inform how they are managing their money. The users will be able to view their balances and transaction together — on the web or your phone.
17 Research 1. Conduct one on one interviews with twenty 20-30 year olds 2. Keep a journal and track where we spend, how much, on what, the method we use to pay, and how we manage our receipts 3. Observe people’s immediate action after receiving/not receiving a receipt 4. Gain insight into what sort of application is missing in people’s financial lives 5. Explore already existing money management tools
Conclusions from 1. Most of our target doesn't monitor their money on a daily basis. 2. When people use cash they don’t think of it as spending, because its already out of their account. 3. Online banking is very popular, but people don’t use it to control their spending. Its more of a safety check once the money is already spent. 4. 85% of the time receipts are given after purchase. 5. Most of our target feels the necessity of managing their finances because they are soon-to-\ be earning their own income (currently they receive aid from parents) 6. Our target wants something that makes the concept of managing money with a monthly allowance easier to understand.
Why Through interview, we found our target only checks the available balance through online/mobile banking. How to make our target to: - Read their statement - Set their budget by incorporating technology SOLUTION
- Giving them a little burden by scanning the receipts with their mobile phone, which eventually will make them aware how much they spend - Using technology decreases the burden

To promote food systems that support improved nutrition and public health, and increase access for all to safe and wholesome food.
DETAILS
By collaborating with the middle school students at the FDH Community Center, our mission is to embed a healthy lifestyle and bring an action-oriented membership body. The farm site will be launched with resources a community already has, in this particular project, the vacant tennis court that surrounds the neighborhood in Upper West Side. The community distributes the food to itself at a price that makes it possible for everyone to eat healthy.
