Tod’s, pelletteria a San Patrignano e nuova fabbrica nell’area colpita dal terremoto
Il gruppo Tod’s investe nell’area colpita dal terremoto, per contribuire al rilancio economico dell’entroterra marchigiano. La holding di Casette d’Ete, che controlla i marchi Tod’s, Hogan, Fay e Roger Vivier, aprirà una fabbrica ad Arquata del Tronto, uno dei tre paesi maggiormente colpiti dal terremoto del 24 agosto. “Sarà una fabbrica di medie dimensioni e dovrà produrre la grande qualità che immettiamo già oggi sul mercato. Siamo un’azienda che ha forte rispetto per il territorio ed è il minimo che potevamo fare”, ha commentato Diego della Valle, presidente e amministratore delegato della società. L’operazione è stata resa possibile dai quattro mila metri quadrati di terreno messi a disposizione dall’amministrazione comunale di Arquata per la realizzazione dello stabilimento di calzature, che si va a inserire all’interno del contesto produttivo marchigiano che conta complessivamente sei stabilimenti per le calzature e due per la pelletteria, oltre a una vasta rete di terzisti anche fuori regione. Sono già aperte le procedure di selezione del personale, che verrà formato nel centro creato dal gruppo a Comunanza, con l’obiettivo di insegnare e avvicinare i più giovani alla cultura manifatturiera del made in Italy, core value dell’azienda. L’impegno di Tod’s per il sociale trova conferma in un’altra iniziativa, a supporto della comunità di San Patrignano (Rimini) per il recupero da droghe e dipendenze. Il gruppo ha supportato i laboratori di pelletteria della comunità, donando i pellami e le materie prime necessari alla realizzazione della collezione, oltre a seguire i ragazzi in un percorso di tutorship. Presentati a Milano, nel department store La Rinascente, i prodotti sono acquistabili online attraverso i siti sanpatrignano.org e tods.com. In precedenza Tod’s si era distinto per il finanziamento dei lavori di ristrutturazione del Colosseo e per aver destinato l’1% del proprio utile netto a sostegno di iniziative a favore delle fasce più deboli della popolazione nell’area in cui opera. Tod’s: leatherware facility for the San Patrignano community and new factory in the earthquake area Tod’s Group invests in the area affected by the Central Italy’s recent earthquake, so as to contribute to the economic recovery of the Marche area. The footwear and leather goods luxury holding, which controls Tod’s, Hogan, Fay and Roger Vivier brands, will open a new facility at Arquata del Tronto, one of the three towns most affected by the earthquake of August 24th. “It will be a medium-sized factory and will produce the great quality that we put on the market today. We are a company that has a strong respect for the territory and it is the least we could do,” said Diego Della Valle, Tod’s chairman and CEO. The operation was made possible by the four thousand square meters of land made available by the municipality of Arquata for the construction of the footwear factory: this plant will be part of Tod’s production structure in the Marche, that can rely on a total of six facilities for footwear and two for leather goods, as well as on a vast network of subcontractors inside and outside the region. The staff selection procedures are already open: the employees will be 26
trained in the center created by the group based in Comunanza, with the aim to teach and arouse young people’s interest in the Italian manufacturing culture, that is, the company’s core value. Tod’s commitment to the social sphere is confirmed by another initiative, in support of the San Patrignano drug rehabilitation community located in Rimini. The group supported the community’s leather goods laboratories, donating the finished leathers and the raw materials necessary to the manufacturing of the collection, in addition to following people in a tutorship path. Showcased in Milan, in the famous department store La Rinascente, the San Patrignano products can be purchased online on the websites sanpatrignano. org and tods.com. Previously Tod’s chose to fund the Coliseum renovations as well as to earmark 1% of its net profit so as to support initiatives in favor of the most vulnerable families, especially in the area where the group operates.

Coach vuole Burberry, il mercato non crede alla merger
Il mondo del lusso e in particolare la pelletteria sono in trepida attesa per l’evolversi dell’offerta che Coach, primo player mondiale del settore accessori, avrebbe presentato per assicurarsi la proprietà di Burberry. Secondo quanto riportato dal quotidiano londinese Financial Times, la fusione tra la casa britannica famosa per il trench in tinta sabbia e il produttore americano di borsette, che dallo scorso anno controlla anche il brand di calzature Stuart Weitzman, darebbe vita a un colosso del lusso con una capitalizzazione superiore a 20 miliardi di dollari e con un giro d’affari di 7 miliardi, di cui 4,1 assicurati da Coach e circa 2,8 da Burberry. L’impatto sarebbe notevole soprattutto nell’ambito della pelletteria, prodotta da Coach per lo più in Far East dopo la fuga di 15 anni fa dalla Toscana (dove disponeva anche di una sede per la gestione delle operazioni di outsourcing nei dintorni di Firenze) e da Burberry in Italia. Le borse della casa londinese sono realizzate con pelli acquistate nel comprensorio conciario toscano, mentre Coach è più legata al distretto di Arzignano e ha nominato lo scorso anno il Gruppo Mastrotto come suo “best leather supplier”. Il mercato però non crede alle indiscrezioni, iniziate a circolare fin da ottobre quando il blog finanziario Betaville scrisse che il marchio americano avrebbe avviato i lavori con l’advisor Evercore per un ipotetico deal con Burberry. Successivamente, alcune fonti vicine all’azienda hanno dichiarato la notizia infondata, definendola del tutto speculativa oltre che non in linea con la strategia Burberry, con il rischio specifico di banalizzazione del marchio. Il tutto mentre è risaputo che il marchio guidato da Christopher Bailey in passato aveva assoldato la banca d’investimenti londinese Robey Warshaw proprio per preparare una difesa a possibili scalate. Burberry rejects Coach proposals The world of luxury, and in particular the branch related to the leather goods sector, is wondering how the offer made by the leading player in the international accessory industry Coach to take over Burberry’ will evolve. As reported by the London-based newspaper Financial Times, the merger between the British house, famous for the sand colored trench, and the American manufacturer of handbags, which, since last year, also controls the footwear brand Stuart Weitzman, would create a luxury giant with a market capitalization of more than $ 20 billion and with a turnover of $ 7 billion, out of which 4.1 are originated by Coach and about 2.8 by Burberry. The impact would be pretty relevant especially for the leather goods produced by Coach mostly in the Far East after having left Tuscany in the early 2000s (where a headquarter for the management of the outsourcing operations around Florence was located), and in Italy by Burberry, whose handbags are made using finished leathers mostly bought in the Tuscan tanning area, while Coach is more related to the Arzignano tanning district; last year, Gruppo Mastrotto has been prized by Coach with the “best leather supplier” title. But the market does not believe at unofficial news. Rumors started back in October when the financial blog Betaville wrote that the

American brand would have started to work with the advisor Evercore for a hypothetical deal with Burberry. Subsequently, some sources close to the companies have declared the news unfounded, calling it entirely speculative as well as not in line with Burberry’s strategy, with the specific risk of cheapening the brand. All this happened while it is clearly known that the London brand led by Christopher Bailey had hired in the past the London investment bank Robey Warshaw right to prepare a defense to such circumstances.

E poi calzature con abbinamenti diversi sia per donna che per uomo, anche in velour, pelliccia e ricami, riportando in primo piano il materiale su cui si è concentrata la ricerca più appassionata in fatto di tecnologia da parte di stilisti e designer

According to the latest trends, fancy and over-the-top styles are going to be replaced by more sober solutions: as a matter of fact, some renowned fashion designers have decided to launch collections featuring a simpler, more refined taste. Are we perhaps drawing inspiration from the ‘70s, from the years of the protest and of the rejection of the existing aesthetic in order to embrace a more essential creativity? As far as the most interesting motifs are concerned, a special mention goes to the innovative interpretations of classic fashion: namely shorter jackets, baggy pants, ankle boots and sandals, block and stiletto heels, handbags and backpacks featuring contrasting volumes. Equally interesting are the footwear collections boasting different combinations, both for men and women, embellished with velour, furs and embroideries: in this way, materials are put at the forefront, acknowledged as the main focus of the passionate research carried out by designers and fashion stylists on the lookout for innovative technology solutions.

RUNIC An important anniversary RUNIC celebrates its 70th anniversary: as a matter of fact, the company was founded in 1947 by Tonino Caccin. After a few years of experience as the apprentice in the workshop of fellow shoemaker, he decided to start its own enterprise when he was just 12. The second generation has already joined the family business: the manufacturing techniques still comply with the ancient traditions handed down by the master shoemakers of the Riviera del Brenta. The company is undergoing a process of constant evolution, always on the lookout for new solutions and improvements that might help to simplify and keep unchanged the production process. Right from the beginning, the company has produced men’s luxury and fashionable footwear that stands out for its peculiar handicraft workmanship. As in the case, for instance, of the original tubular moccasin that is still assembled and sewn by hand on the last, in order to give life to a product entirely Made in Italy featuring the utmost quality and comfort. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary, the company has launched a special stylish capsule collection that will be previewed at the forthcoming edition of theMICAM (February 12-15, 2017).
Un traguardo importante RUNIC festeggia il traguardo dei 70 anni di attività, iniziata nel 1947 dal fondatore Tonino Caccin. Appena dodicenne, dopo qualche anno come garzone presso un amico calzolaio, cominciò in proprio l’arte delle calzature. Oggi RUNIC è alla sua seconda generazione e continua a produrre secondo le antiche tradizioni dei maestri calzaturieri della Riviera del Brenta, in continua evoluzione e alla ricerca di migliorie che semplifichino e mantengano inalterato il processo produttivo.
