Uplift. Uplift is a poster exhibition and auction in association with the charity Crisis. The pay to enter exhibition will be open for 1 day only, on which an auction for all of the work will take place. The takings from the event will all go to help fund Crisis’s education and training centres, SkyLight. As well as helping the charity financially, the event hopes to bring motivation and inspiration to all of those out on the street, as the posters will be created by a collaboration of Crisis’s clients and the creatives of London.
Promotional material. Promotional material will be situated throughout the city raising awareness of the event and leading people to the website. This material will consist of A3 posters, Bus shelter ads, Billboards and Flyers, which will be distrobuted by Crisis’s homeless clients.
The Event. The exhibition will take place in the busy centre of London. Using a Pop-Up location, temporary signage will be created to fit with the identity, and obviously to confirm that this is where the exhibition is taking place.
Event Material. A series of printed material will be produced to be given out to the attendees and buyers. All the posters will be accompanied by hand made cardboard frames, which help emphasise the idea of homelessness. When the posters have been purchased, branded poster tubes and paper bags are availible to buy. As well as this, exhibition guides will be on offer, which explain the background and name behind each poster. Finally, letterheads, compliment slips and business cards will also be produced.
We at Uplift have been bringing together the creative students and proffessionals of London to run art and design workshops for one of the most renowned homeless charities in the UK. During these workshops, clients of Crisis’s education and training centers, Skylight, have been collaborating with designers to create a series of proffessionally produced posters. These workshops have allowed the clients to develop their creativity and broaden their mind. Being out on the street destroys motivation, leaving people with a hopeless and negative outlook on life. The aim of these workshops were to bring back the motivation, and bring back positivity.
On the 8th of February 2014, we are exited to announce we will be holding an exhibition and auction for this work. All the profit from this day will be donated to Crisis, in aid of helping support the amazing things they do for those who are not as fortunate as ourselves.
