The Boyesen Guarantee

Every Boyesen product comes with a money back guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with any Boyesen product, return it for its full refund.

Pro Series Reed for 2001 CR 125/250, KX 125/250, YZ 125/250 Boyesen is proud to announce the introduction of the Pro Series Reed. Boyesen's patented dual-stage reed increases throttle response, boosts bottom end power, and extends overrev power.

The stock CR 125/KX 125 receives an increase in throttle response and a broader power curve for all rider skill levels to use. With the lack of bottom end power on the stock 2001 CR 250/YZ 125, the Boyesen Pro Series reeds are a quick, inexpensive fix to get more horsepower on the bottom end. The stock KX 250 receives an increase in throttle response and a smoother transition through the mid-range resulting in a more "user friendly" power curve.

HURRICANE HILLS. . .

The 1st Rule of Two-Stroke Performance:

More Air = More Power Only maximum air intake, correctly

accelerated and distributed into the crankcase can deliver maximum power.

The Boyesen Guarantee Every Boyesen product comes with a money back guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with any Boyesen product, return it for its full refund.

An Intake Valve the Size of Your Fist Delivers Air with the Power of a Tornado

To maximize airflow and release the hidden power in your race nike, replace your stock intake valve with a Boyesen RAD Valve. Integrated into the seamless, tenzalloy chamber is a quadrant of aerodynamic directional dividers. This patented, dyno-proven system power channels the charge evenly for instant, explosive movements of air at velocities of up to 500 MPH. Intelligently controlled by a set of Pro Series Reeds, you’ll get maximum flow velocity across the entire RPM range, and at all throttle settings. Each Boyesen RAD Valve is unique — tailor-made to a single model, year and displacement. While other aftermarker valves might change flange sizes or bolt patterns, they’re basically generic — and require you to irreversibly cut your intake boot to install! But with the RAD Valve, there are no compromises in power, no modifications needed. A true, bolt-on power boost: no kidding, no cutting.

Mertens Carsten Penns 19th Annual Tony D. Motocross Schools / Suzuki Pennsylvania State Motocross Championships CLIFFORD, PA, SEPTEMBER 23, 2001

– By Jim P. Sanderson

Just about 400 motocross enthusiasts came out to the Hurricane Hills Sports Center for one of Tom Hurd MotorSports biggest races of the season, the 19th Annual Tony D. Motocross Schools/Suzuki Pennsylvania State Motocross Championships. Promoter, Tom Hurd, as is tradition for this annual event, has truckload after truckload of sawdust from a near by sawmill brought in to make the track as loamy as possible. Big berms and fast lap times with virtually no rocks make for some of the best racing of the season. Mother Nature helped out too by providing a beautiful fall day of bright sunshine and warmer than usual temperatures. Jeff Paul piloted his YZ ahead of the pack and rounded the first turn in the first 250 Open A class moto with Stephen Desiderio, Barry Carsten, Barry Taggont and Mark Wundrack trailing. Desiderio quickly made his way around Paul for the lead after a couple of turns, which dropped Paul a spot to Jeff Paul (871) leads Steve Desiderio (176) and Barry Carsten (54) in to the first turn in the 1st 250 Open A class moto at the second. Wundrack 19th Annual Tony D. Motocross Schools/Suzuki Pennsylvania State Championships held at Hurricane Hills in Clifford, PA. made his way up to third while Taggont held fourth and Dave Nyzio moved up to fifth. Carsten was involved a second turn crash that put him near the back of the pack. Carsten quickly made his way back through the pack and was up to sixth by lap two. Near the end of lap two, Desiderio was still in the point position while Wundrack made a pass on Paul for second, relegating him to third. Taggont was still hanging tough in fourth and Carsten made the pass on Nyzio for fifth. The top five was unchanged at the start of lap three. Carsten was the only one doing the spectator triple to make up time. The rest of the top five soon followed suit. Shortly after the start of lap three, Paul went down in the turn preceding the huge Hurricane step-up and dropped out of the top five. Three turns later, Wundrack made the pass on Desiderio for the lead. Desiderio was relegated to second. Behind them Taggont and Carsten were battling for third and fourth while Nyzio was back up to fifth. Paul started to pull a small advantage by lap four. Desiderio was still second with Carsten about eight seconds back in third and charging. Wundrack’s lead was about seven seconds by the end of lap. Desiderio was quickly losing ground to Carsten. Carsten quickly caught up with Desiderio and made the pass for second around the start of lap five. Carsten began charging after Wundrack with less than two laps to go. Carsten caught Wundrack by the end of lap six and made several pass attempts and the two may have even swapped a little paint before Carsten finally got a pass to stick with about a half a lap to go. Wundrack found himself in the runner-up spot. Carsten got the much-deserved moto win with Wundrack, Desiderio, Dave Ginolfi, who moved into the top five quickly in the last two laps, and Taggont trailing.

Desiderio managed to get another holeshot aboard his booming YZF thumper in the second 250 moto. In tow were Wundrack, Paul, Carsten, and Taggont. After three more turns the top five were Desiderio, Wundrack, Carsten, Paul and Taggont. On lap two in the back of the racecourse, along the tree line, the top three were unchanged with Taggont moving up to fourth and Paul dropped to fifth. Shortly after that Carsten made the pass on Wundrack for second, dropping Wundrack to third. Carsten then quickly caught and passed Desiderio for the lead, relegating Desiderio to second. Right after Carsten’s pass on Desiderio, Wundrack did likewise, passing Desiderio for second. Desiderio found himself now in third. Taggont and Paul remained fourth and fifth. The top four were unchanged at the start of lap three. Ginolfi Steve Desiderio made the podium in the 250 Open A class with his consistent passed Paul for fifth by doing 3-3 rides aboard his YZF thumper at Hurricane Hills on September 23rd. the spectator triple while Paul didn’t to start the lap. On the following lap, Ginolfi passed Taggont for fourth again, by doing the triple while Taggont didn’t. Taggont dropped back to fifth. Carsten was pulling a small lead of five seconds and moved it to eight seconds by lap five. With less than a lap to go, Ginolfi passed Desiderio for third. Wundrack’s bike began to sputter with less than a half a lap to go, dropping him back to finish fourth. Carsten got the checkers and the second moto win with Ginolfi, Desiderio, Wundrack and Taggont trailing. Carsten’s 1-1 rides got him the overall while Ginolfi’s 2-4, care of Wundrack’s bad luck, got second overall and Desiderio rounded out the 250 Open A podium, via his consistent 3-3 rides. Fast By Ferracci Husqavarna came out in force for the 125 A class, fielding two riders for this highly competitive class. Husqavarna’s Tony Medrano got his Husky to the front quickly in the first moto. Trailing were another Team Husky rider, Steve Mertens, Ginolfi, Carsten and Wundrack. On the following lap, just out of the rhythm section, Mertens got around Medrano to take the lead. Then Ginolfi, in quick succession, passed Medrano for second, dropping Medrano to third. Carsten and Wundrack were still forth and fifth respectively. The top five were unchanged on the start of lap three and remained the unchanged until lap five when Carsten made a pass on Medrano stick with a lap and a half to go after trying for several laps. Mertens got the first 125 moto win done followed by Ginolfi, Carsten, Medrano and Wundrack. Mertens Husky pulled the second moto holeshot with Carsten, Wundrack, Paul and Ginolfi in tow. Three turns later Ginolfi passed Paul for fourth. Carsten started lap two by taking the lead from Mertens, relegating him to second. Wundrack was still third, Ginolfi fourth and Jimmy Miller passed Paul for fifth. The top five remained the same through the middle of lap five when Ginolfi passed Wundrack for third. Carsten hung on for the second moto win with Mertens, Ginolfi, Wundrack and Paul trailing.

Husqavarna pilots Tony Medrano (40) and Steve Mertens lead Dave Ginolfi (461) Barry Carsten (54) and Jeff Paul (871) in the 1st 125 A class moto at the 19th Annual Tony D. Motocross Schools/Suzuki Pennsylvania State Championships on Sept. 23rd.

Steve Desiderio (176) leads the pack in to the first turn with Paul Wundrack, (729) Barry Carsten and Carl Snyder trailing in the 2nd 250 Open A moto at the PA State Championships at Hurricane Hills.

Mertens topped the 125 A class podium via his 1-2 rides. The runner-up spot went to Carsten via his 3-1 rides while Ginolfi rounded out the podium, carding a 2-3 score for the day.

Fast By Ferracci Husqavarna’s Tony Medrano rode to a 4th place finish in the first 125 A class moto but had some bad luck in the 2nd moto at the 19th Annual Tony D. Motocross Schools/Suzuki Pennsylvania State Championships on September 23rd.

SCHNECK MCPHEE HANDLE HURRICANE HILLS District 6 Points Race CLIFFORD, PA, September 9, 2001 Mother Nature provided an absolutely beautiful late Summer day of sunshine and blue skies for a District Six points race at the Hurricane Hills Sports Center on September 9th. The event, hosted by Tom Hurd MotorSports, provided a great day of motocross racing on the expertly prepared and technically demanding Hurricane Hills racecourse. Michael Schneck, of Pine Grove, PA topped the 250 Open B class podium, riding to a perfect 1-1 tally. Vance Draghi, from Mt. Joy, NJ earned second overall with consistent 2-2 rides while Jamie Dineen, of Burlington, NC rounded out the 250 Open B class podium with his 4-3 score. Nicholas McPhee, of Milford, NJ, topped the 65cc 7-9 class podium riding to a perfect 1-1 on the day. The runner up spot went to Tony Peregrin, of Simpson, PA, via his consistent 2-2’s and Jesse Kuzbyt, from Sussex,NJ, rounded out the podium via his 4-3 score. Draghi got the first 250 Open B class moto underway by taking the holeshot ahead of Dineen, Joseph Savitsky, Schneck and Ryan James. It didn’t take Schneck long to make his way to the front as he made two quick passes to move to second before the start of lap two. Just a few turns in to the lap, Schneck made the pass on Draghi for the lead. The top five running order was now Schneck, Draghi, Savitsky, Dineen and James. On lap three, the top two were pulling away while Dineen passed Savitsky for third. Savitsky dropped to fourth and James was hanging tough in fifth. The top five started to spread out and remained unchanged until the last lap. The first 250 Open B class moto went in the record books as Schneck, Draghi, James, Dineen and Jason Babernitch. James managed to get his YZ off the gate ahead of the pack in the second 250 Open B class moto and rounded the first turn with the lead. Trailing were Schneck, Babernitch, Savitsky and Draghi. Three turns or so later, the top two were unchanged with Draghi quickly making two passes to take third. Savitsky held fourth and Babrenitch was relegated to fifth. Just after the green flag signaling the start of lap two, James was visably missing from the point position which gave Schneck the lead. Draghi moved to second, Savitsky third, Dineen fourth and Babernitch fifth. By the start of lap three, the top four were beginning to spread out. James made a pass on Babernith for fifth. When the second moto checkers flew, Schneck took the win followed by Draghi, Dineen, James and Savitsky. Nick McPhee piloted his ktoom to the front of the pack and the early

lead in the first 65cc 7-9 class and never looked back. McPhee went wire to wire unchallenged and finished the first moto with a 15-second advantage. Trailing McPhee out of the first turn were Ron Weilson, Chaz Light, Tony Peregrin and Jesse Kuzybt. McPhee quickly pulled away from the pack. Peregrin managed to quickly move from fourth to second by lap two. That relegated Weilson to third. Kuzbyt held fourth and Light dropped back to fifth. The leaders of the 65cc 7-9 class first moto quickly spread out and went pretty much unchanged all the way to the checkered flag. The official first moto finish was McPhee, Peregrin, Weilson, Kuzbyt and Light.

Nick McPhee (214) leads the pack into the first turn in the 1st 65cc 7-9 class moto. Trailing were Chaz Light (23), Ron Weilson (441), and Tony Peregrin (189).

McPhee managed to repeat his great start of the first 65cc 7-9 class moto in the second and quickly put some distance between himself and the rest of the class. Trailing were Peregrin, Kuzbyt, Light, Weilson and Keith Kovac. McPhee’s lead was a whopping 14 seconds by the third lap. Once again, the leaders spread out with not much happening until the final lap. The second 65cc 7-9 class moto went in the books as McPhee, Peregrin, Kuzbyt, Weilson and Light.
