Hope for sellers in winter

Million-dollar sales ‘growing’ DESPITE a sluggish real estate market, over 140 suburbs in Perth had million-dollar property sales for the year ending March 2011. The latest figures from REIWA show 142 suburbs recorded individual property sales of at least $1million during this 12-month period, including northern suburbs like Mindarie, Iluka, Duncraig, Hillarys, Marmion, Mullaloo and Sorrento. According to Acton Real Estate chief executive Graeme Baxter, the number of suburbs with milliondollar property sales had remained stable over the last two years with some 137 Perth suburbs recording million-dollar property sales during the year ending the March 2010 quarter. “Overall, million-dollar property sales now account for nearly 9 per cent of all house sales in Perth which is a very positive result taking into account the impact of rising interest rates over the last year,’’ he said. “One of the most significant trends in the million-dollar Perth property market is the growing

“It is a good investment to fertilise your lawns regularly to keep them green and strategically placing plants in the garden which bloom during the winter months. “It is also proven that people react more favourably to property shown under bright light than dark, so sellers should maximise the light entering the home, such as having home opens around lunch time and opening all drapes and blinds and turning on lights.” Mr Peard said your home should be also be warm and inviting. “If you have heating in your home make sure that it is working during home opens and the air temperature in the home is at a Peter comfortable level,’’ he said.
