CeVue chance to live like a millionaire
Probuild Constructions is raising the bar in luxurious living, with ocean-front apartment suites in a class of their own CEVUE Apartments in Scarborough boasts spectacular ocean views as far as the eye can see. Situated along West Coast Highway, only 200m from the shore, the 78 apartments and 21 short-stay apartments offer panoramic views stretching from Fremantle to Hillarys. The $200 million project by Cape Bouvard has already generated positive interest, with several western suburb clients securing a premium slice of beachfront living. Created to blend in with and enliven the Scarborough streetscape, CeVue's lavish two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom apartments provide luxurious living. Two executive-style penthouses were snapped up recently for in

excess of $5 million each. Cape Bouvard marketing and sales manager Greg Byrne said CeVue was the first new development on the Scarborough beachfront in 15 years. “The realisation of this building is the starting point in the long overdue rejuvenation of the area,’’ he said. “The overall design of
CeVue lifts the bar and will set the benchmark for development in Scarborough, and in itself become a true iconic building on the coastline.” Mr Byrne said the apartments are at the luxury end of the market, offering a high level of fixtures and finishes, including Miele appliances, stone benchtops, quality tiling and
blackbutt timber floors. Attention to detail can be seen in the open-plan living areas, and design, which achieves maximum ventilation. Six separate lift cores allow for additional privacy and security, with the penthouse owners having their own private lift foyer. Mr Byrne said the new apartments would transform The Esplanade and turn it into the next “Marine Parade”. “Two quality restaurants will also be located at ground level, with both already sold to experienced restaurant operators,’’ he said. Construction on CeVue started in November 2007 and is scheduled to be completed by early 2010. The builder is Probuild Constructions, the same company
building the $210 million development at 40 William Street, Perth. Ideally situated on The Esplanade overlooking beautiful Brighton Beach, CeVue is a short stroll from the Scarborough Beach Surf Life Saving Club and a brand new amphitheatre. It is also only 12km from the heart of the city and 20 minutes to Fremantle’s popular café strip. A new sales suite has been set up at 194 The Esplanade, Scarborough directly opposite CeVue Apartments for interested buyers’ convenience. The suite is open from Thursday to Sunday from 1-5pm. Treetop views extend down to the ocean This exclusive tri-level Cottesloe property includes a lift to all levels and spacious wine cellar. By ROMENA MANNING RIVERSTONE-built properties are acclaimed for the astute choices made in their quality and design, and this tri-level Cottesloe house is no exception. Luxury finishes include a lift to all three levels, and a wine cellar and storage area shares the bottom level with a three-car garage. Double entry doors open to a living area with kitchenette and bifold doors that lead to a spacious balcony. The idea was to capture ocean views through pine trees from this front balcony, which has a cedarlined roof and glass feature balustrade among limestone and rendered walls. Designed to provide separate zones, in addition to the living space only a study, laundry, bathroom and two bedrooms are on this level. A large tinted glass panel and glass door opens the indoors to a small central courtyard near the bedrooms. Blackbutt timber stairs lead to the top level, where an open-plan living area sprawls to the north
and opens to a balcony like that at entry level. This balcony provides more extensive ocean views through the treetops and allows the sea breeze to blow in. Sets of windows along a side wall create sunny living quarters, incorporating a kitchen and spacious dining and family areas. Timbergrain laminate features add interest to gloss white cabinetry in the kitchen, which is finished by a CaesarStone
benchtop and glass splashbacks. The monochrome fit-out has functional features like dishwasher, wall oven with separate warming oven, dishwasher and smart ceramic cooktop. Boudoir style introduces itself in a main bedroom suite, where miniature chandelier lighting complements flock-effect feature tiles over a double vanity unit. The ensuite has floor-to-ceiling tiling and a mounted spa bath. ■

The master suite also overlooks N 14.7m the pavilion and features high ceilings, expansive his and hers walk in robes, and an immaculately appointed en-suite featuring relaxing rooftop views across the suburb. The “active” wing is a sweeping open plan entertaining space, featuring a breakfast bar, a “dry” kitchen and a “wet” kitchen (scullery), stunning high pitched roof, floor to ceiling windows, a 5 metre high feature stone fireplace. West London meets the western suburbs This owner-designed residence offers suburban living on the edge of a stunning park, reports AMANDA RANKIN
JOLIMONT might be a long way from Twickenham but the owners of this stunning home have done their best to bring a little bit of West London to the western suburbs. They designed two narrow houses side by side, similar to the terrace houses of London and facing a park at the back, to utilise the lush green grounds as a shared back yard. Suzy said this set up created a real sense of community. "In London it is very common for a group of houses to all look on to a common garden or park that they all share," she said. A kitchenette, complete with small
fridge, sink and cupboards, allows the top level to be a self-contained area for guests. Along with a main bedroom, there is also a bathroom and two double bedrooms, one with a small balcony overlooking Jersey Street. With its pitched ceiling and wall of glass, the spacious main bedroom has spectacular views of Mabel Talbot Park and a stunning ensuite with contemporary fittings, plus a walk-in wardrobe. At the back, an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area opens through floor-toceiling timber-framed bi-fold doors to a huge tiled deck with built-in barbecue and fridge.
Caesarstone benches, a big central island, Blanco oven and five-burner gas hob feature in the kitchen, and a gloss grey glass splashback running the length of the kitchen adds to the sleek look. A home theatre provides a cinema experience without leaving the house. On this level, there is a massive storeroom or cellar plus a garage, with the driveway accessed via a small lane off the park. "We're quite passionate about the home because we built it for ourselves not just as a property development, and we really spent the time and the money to make sure everything was top of the range and just right," said Matthew. â–

Dalkeith delight for entertainers Big, open-plan living area is ideal for family and visitors. By ROMENA MANNING THE way the back of this Dalkeith house flows outside helps to make an open-plan living area the hub of the home. A large extension comprising dining and family areas moulds seamlessly with the original 1930s house, with ceiling height and decorative plaster features maintained here. The owner, Louise, said it was her favourite part because of its openness. “It spills out onto the lawn and has been great for entertaining family and friends… it’s good for the kids because it does open to the backyard,” she said. Louise, her husband and two boys have lived here for nine years, and Louise said it was the perfect house and area for primary school-aged children. “I didn’t think when I moved in it would be as family oriented as it is. We have had street parties, street drinks,
even a street garage sale,” she said. A renovated galley-style kitchen in American oak with Corian benchtops has ample storage space, with a preparation sink in island bench, integrated dishwasher, glass splashbacks and frosted glass-front features to the cabinetry. Ornate ceilings are a highlight of a formal lounge and dining room, which opens to a front courtyard via french doors. Art deco features like leaded windows and decorative cornices enhance the feel of this room and a main bedroom at
the front. Louise said a temperature-controlled cellar behind a walk-in wardrobe in the main bedroom was one of her husband’s favourite features. The walk-in wardrobe provides access to a light, bright semi-ensuite with pedestal basin and traditional 1930s tiling. An outdoor room opens from the living area, with automatic Vergola overhead, which allows the family to use this north-facing area in winter and lets sunlight into the house. ■

AS one of Perth’s most popular tourist attractions, the team at Kings Park Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority realised there was something missing that could provide visitors with a great feeling at the start or end of their journey. That idea resulted in the standout Aspects of Kings Park building on Fraser Avenue – at the hub of Kings Park – which gives visitors the chance to take home not just park memorabilia, but something special. Marcelle Broderick, director of Business and Visitor Services, said they wanted to add to visitors’ experience, with a clear request for high-quality products that reflected WA. The parks authority decided to build and
of stock that appealed to different groups and budgets – all with a connection to nature and all different and unique. “[If someone] was looking for something very special to become a focal point or conversation piece for your house, [a piece from here] is guaranteed to provide that… most pieces are one-off and all are handmade,” she said.
