Agents level field for buyers Buyers’ agents do what friends and relatives cannot - offer expert advice

THE concept of buyers’ agents may be relatively new to WA but the service they provide is good, old-fashioned advice. Buying a home is one of the biggest decisions a person can make, yet many choose to seek property advice and guidance from family, friends, work colleagues and neighbours rather than from property experts. Rob Walker and Daren Schneider, from Heron Todd White, are buyers’ agents with more than 40 years of experience. Licensed buyers’ agents play the role of middleman between buyer and the selling agent and assist with property planning and investment opportunities. They also offer professional advice when managing transitions between properties. “Not every one knows about property, but how is it they all claim to be experts?’’ Mr Walker asks. “You’re not going to do your own complex accounting or legal work, so just like in those cases, it’s best to leave it to the

professionals. We take the stress out of property searching and provide invaluable advice and mentoring to someone wanting to buy property.” Mr Schneider said the company also provided hassle-free advice through to settlement and gave each client confidence and peace of mind. “You could also say we act as a bodyguard for our clients, going in between them and the selling agent, while providing an independent and honest service,’’ he said.
