Couple’s vision turns rundown into remarkable

This intimate French cafe is Shenton Road’s best-kept secret, although pastry-loving patrons now come from far and wide to devour these delights. French pastries aside, Shenton Road really does have a lot to offer and according to Space Realty’s Peter Clements, it’s not that busy a street to live on despite its huge range of facilities. “You've got a golf course, a great little gym, a fantastic tennis club, a heated swimming pool nearby and about 60ha of parkland to enjoy.

The railway crossing provides an easy route for Shenton Road residents to walk into the Claremont shopping precinct and, according to Peter Clements, this is another winning asset for the street. “Shenton Road is really close to the centre of Claremont without being right in it,” Mr Clements said. “And the Claremont Quarter is really going to transform Claremont into another Toorak. “Some of the retail outlets planned for it are superb and I think it will become a focal point for both locals and overseas visitors.” ■
