The Boston tea Party is something we will not forget.

The British will pay the debt.

It was a really big event.

This was the start of something great!

The Boston Tea party was a very important protest by colonists in Revolutionary times. It occured december, 1773. The colonists were mad at Britain for raising taxes, and making unfair laws. This happened in Griffin’s Wharf in Boston, Massachusetts. They dumped approximately 342 chests of British tea in the harbor, this made Britain lose a lot of money. This was one of the first major acts of defense against Britain.

Britain soon learned that the American colonists would not just sit there and take this tyranny!

This soon encouraged the 13 colonies to fight the British for freedom, and independence. For years the colonies have been being taxed without their voices being heard. Ever since the 1760’s when they won the French and Indian war.

It was ok ever since then but they but taxes upon taxes after that. The British thought taxes were fair, the colonists disagreed strongly. The intensity increased since the Boston Tea Party, until it was full blown war!

C​ontinental Congress was a brave clan Brave indeed! 343 of these brave men 12 colonies included out of 13 Fed up with high taxes and the Loyal EnglishMen On September 5, 1774, members from 12 colonies, met in Philadelphia as the First Continental Congress to organize colonial resistance to Parliament’s Coercive Acts.The members included a number of future celebrities, such as future presidents ​John Adams​ of ​Massachusetts​ and ​George Washington​ of Virginia​, and future U.S. ​Supreme Court​ ​Chief Justice and diplomat ​John Jay​ of ​New York​. The Congress was structured with attention on the equality of participants, and to promote free debate.

After much argument, the Congress announced a Declaration of Rights, confirming its loyalty to the British Crown but challenging the British Parliament’s right to tax it. The Congress also passed the Articles of Association, which called on the colonies to stop importing goods from the British Isles beginning on December 1, 1774, if the Coercive Acts were not abolished. Should Britain fail to redress the colonists’ complaints in a timely manner, the Congress declared, then it would rejoin on May 10, 1775, and the colonies would discontinue to export goods to Britain on September 10, 1775. After declaring these measures, the First Continental Congress disbanded on October 26, 1774​.

The second continental congress (May 10, 1775 - March 1, 1781) and made the Declaration of Independence and established the Articles of Confederation. Samuel Huntington being the president of the second continental congress. Peyton Randolph being the president of the first congress.

The Daughters of Liberty were a group of political dissidents.

They formed in the North American British colonies during the early times of the American Revolution.

They were a lot like the Sons of Liberty but in a different way.

The Daughters of Liberty helped out the soldiers in the Revolutionary War. The Daughters of Liberty signifies the formal women Patriot association which was made in 1765.

It was to protest the Stamp Act and later the Townshend Acts. As well as a general term for women who wanted to fight for liberty during the American Revolutionary War.

The americans hoped that the british would have a struggle in war. Although the americans were scared that they were going to loose in the battle. Also france was losing against british also.

So france and americans decided they were going to make allies in war to beat british. So the french government began to provide them clandestine and assistance. So france would channel through american trader silas deane.

So as french did that they made americans were limited at the outsets. It had to be through the secret agents. As they went in to war the americans beat the british.

Came to the colonies as a teenager, He was in charge of the canons in Yorktown In 1787 he became legislatore He helped to bring the British down

Right when Alexander Hamilton heard about the battle of lexington and concord he was already preparing to head to war. He helped train young college boys how to shoot in battle. Hamilton and his group of volunteers, captured the twenty-one canon in Manhattan Island on August 23, 1775. Alexander had easily proved his determination in battle.

By 1776 Alexander became the captain of the Continental Army. He was capable of giving almost 100 men orders. He made sure his men were well fed and paid. The supplies was never low for Hamilton and his crew. He and his men were in many small battles around New York in 1776.

Hamilton’s actions were noticed very clearly by General Washington.

Soon after the Battle of Princeton Washington invited Hamilton to become one of his aides. His jobs included drafting letters and sending supplies. We fought for our independence We finally set free from England The war was a long distance King George stopped owing the land of roses

M​ost of the colonists were so happy they set free from England. They could choose their laws and don’t half to pay the outrageous tax prices. King George had no say on what they did anymore. The colonist felt like King George did not even care about them.

T​he colonist did not want the British government to be in charge of them anymore. They decided that they wanted the government to be rain by their people in the colonies. The French helped the colonists be set free from King George. The French helped us succeed our independence.

F​rench was the reason that the Americans won the war mostly. The colonist almost lost the war and almost there freedom in 1776. When it was the day after Christmas the colonist took the war back over they started to win more and more wars. They finally declared independence on ​july 4 1776 .

Louis was a French Engineer who served.

Louis Lebegue Duportail was a French Engineer who served in the revolutionary war in the continental army. Also, was the chief engineer in the continental war. Was the French minister of defence. The first volunteer from the French.

The Americans suffered from a dearth of engineers. Louis was a son a of a noble man.

The way he served in the war was with a agreement with Benjamin Franklin. He wrote a letter to George Washington on February 10,1790. The letter is about he and others wanting to join the causes with Washington and America to Fight the British. Louis has served in the French Army as the official engineer in 1762. He was named the Chief Engineer for the collenels.

He was one of the most important volunteers in the war. He got intelligence on the enemy and had good war strategies. He was sent to America by Benjamin Franklin in 1777 in March. He was a great help to the cause to the war because he had intelligence in the enemy and was one of their only engineers.

N ​is for Native Americans

The Native Americans had to pick a side The Native Americans fought against each other The Americans won Then it turned out the British lied The native americans were split up into two different sides. Some of them are on the American side but most of them were on the British side. The king/crown promised to protect native lands from moving in American settlers.

At first both sides of the war wanted the Native Americans to stay out of the conflict. But in 1776 both sides courted Iroquois confederacy.

Then Brant got 4 of the 6 tribes of Iroquois to fight for the British. The other 2 tribes then fought for the Americans. Other native tribes in the south also took sides.

Most fought with the British but, lost all peace. The preliminary articles of peace didn’t even mention the native americans at all. Brant was really mad that the british was selling out the tribes. The British didn’t set aside areas for the Native Americans that was promised by Treaties they had made with the tribes.

We are the continental army, we don’t surrender, we don’t quit. We will fight until king george throws a fit. We are fighting for freedom, we won’t surrender to the dumb. We can’t quit till we die. We can’t wait to get home for some sweet apple pie. We don’t want to be held prisoner to these crull perimeters.

There are two different sides that an officer could be on in the american revolution. One was the continental army. The other was the british army. There were both similarities and differences and when it comes to it they are very different.

The continental army wore white pants, white waistcoats, and long blue jackets. The different regiments wore different trims and different buttons on their jackets. The age when u could start was 16 or 15 if you were allowed by parents and the oldest you could be was 55.

There were almost 5,000 black soldiers. During the war continental soldiers were paid around $6.25 a month.

The british wore red coats with different trims telling which regiment they were in, white pants, and a black trim. The british were mostly made up of 20 and 25 year old men. During the revolutionary war not many black soldiers were in the british army. They were paid upwards to $1.45. They ate about 1 ½ lbs of bread about 1 lb of beef, about ¼ pint of peas, 1 oz of butter, and 1 ½ liters of rum.

The similarities were scarce the british and continentals both had tens of thousands of soldiers. Plus they were recruiting people in different ways for more help. They were running low on supplies. Both armies would raid holmes and do cruel things to the residents. They also did horrifying things like murdering lots of people What did you find most interesting?

Patriots are people who wanted American colonies to be independent from Britain and King George the III. George Washington was the leader of the patriots during the Revolutionary War. He took control of the Continental Army on July 3, 1775. They also disliked the British taxes.

Some famous patriots were Samuel Adam, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, John Jay, and Patrick Henry. The patriots caused the Boston Tea party by dumping tea in the boston harbour. They did this because of the British taxes on the tea. They also made the Stamp Act.

This was a battle where the Montgomery and Arnold tried to capture britishers occupied-city of Quebec.

They wanted to win support for the american cause in canada with it.

This effort costed Montgomery his life.

Montgomery and arnolds patriots that they sent had no success.

Quebec was the name of one of the battles during the Revolutionary war. They called it the battle of quebec.This battle took place on December 31,1775.

General Richard Montgomery and Colonel Benedict Arnold sent their patriots sent their patriots to Quebec to try and capture the british occupied city.

If they succeed they would also win support for for the american cause in Canada. This was during the Revolutionary war that Richard lost his life and failing to succeed on December 31, 1775. This defeat was the first major one for the americans.

The british and the americans both has approximately 1,200 troops. The british did have one benefit which was,on their city's fortifications were heavy guns. The british protected their occupied city.

U ​is for Uniforms ​

The Americans didn't have fancy clothes, But they had a chance to win the war.

They lost a lot of soldiers, but that’s just the way it goes.

They won it by Yorktowns shore.

The British wore red coats, they were referred to as the “Red coats”. The British also wore white pants, They wore a white shirt, a black hat, with black boots. They would also wear a white linen, epaulette on their right shoulder On the other hand, the Americans wore long brown coats, or a wool coat with a collar and cuffs. They would also wear a cotton or linen shirt, a vest, and leather shoes. The Americans wore the more casual colors for their coats, in the revolutionary war.

The uniforms the patriots wore were red and blue coats. They also wore black hats and black leather shoes. They also wore white pants, And on their coat they had a black collar.

V is for Valley Forge

Valley Forge was one of the eight military encampments.

In September of 1777 british captured Americans there.

Then they came to here.

They decampmented and went to the united states.

The revolutionary war had been going on for about 6 years now and they had many camps. But the valley forge was different in some ways because it was cold there. Also that was George Washington’s encampment plus they ran out of supplies there so most wanted to go home. About 2,000 people died but all the others went home. It was mostly from starvation also they would die from getting like their leg cut off or arm from infection.

The ones who stayed became a well trained army and didn’t regret going home because they mad a new country and got credit for it.

If they were to shoot without being shot at then it would not end well for them. They would hide and shoot at them when they would least expect it from all angels. It started in Pennsylvania of winter of 1777-1778. They fought for many years until the british came over and waved a white handkerchief. 11,00o soldiers were stationed at valley forge, and hundreds died from a disease but the rest stayed and held together by loyalty.

In valley forge the army was made a true army not just some volunteers which they were but you couldn’t tell. Plus valley forge is called the birthplace of the American Army. The Americans were encamped there for 6 months until they left and moved to a n new camp. With the win of Yorktown after that there was basically nothing the British could do the Americans basically won the war.

W for washington Washington was a hero He would never give up He lived long ago He would alway showup George washington (1732-1799) was the first president but a lot happened before that. He was the chief commander of the continental army in the revolutionary war. He was raised in colonial virginia. Before fighting in the revolutionary war he fought for the british in the french indian war. Fun fact he owned 300 slaves, but before he died he turned against slavery so in his will he wrote after his wife died all his slave had to be freed. With no military experience he became commander of virginia militia.

He married a wealthy widow named ​Martha Dandridge she had 2 kids.

Washington became a good stepfather to them. He proved to be a better general than military stagest. His strengths might not lay in his smart on the battlefield but on his ability to keep the struggling military together. His troops poorly trained and had little food, ammunition and other supplies. However he gave them direction and motivation to keep going.

Over the 8 year war they won few battles but held their own against the british. In october 1781 with the help of the french they were able to surround the british troops. After many days the british general charles cornwallis gave up.

The revolutionary war has been going on between the americans and the british. The revolutionary war has been in the vicinity of yorktown. The revolutionary war has been going on for 6 years before it ended.

The siege of yorktown was the end of the revolutionary war there 88 americans killed. There was also 142-309 british men killed during the siege. Cornwallis was trapped inside of yorktown by water by land. This was a trap by the americans and the french by sending 27 ships.

October 19 1781 cornwallis gave up with the rest of his 8,000 men that were fighting in yorktown. The american generals were george washington and rochambeau. The area was covered from the north south east and west from the americans.

Reflection: I learned that the revolutionary war was the deciding factor about whether america would still be a america today if the british would have one. America would be ruled by the spanish or the british.
