STAGE ONE: EGG
Sea slugs hatch from eggs. They are free swimmers. They have a clear shell. Most species of sea slugs live for 1 year. But some species live a shorter life.

STAGE TWO: LARVA
The larva will go through a change. Once it finds food that’s in pieces it will eat. The larva leaves it’s shell behind. The larva will grow and grow until it reaches the age it can make babies. The time depends on how cold or hot the water is.

STAGE THREE: ADULT
Adult sea slugs are much different from other organisms. They have both male and female reproductive parts. This means they can make babies with any other adult sea slugs that are around.

Sea slugs get there food from the sun because of their light skin. Sea slugs don’t have a shell to keep their babies safe. They also have bright colors they use as a warning sign. When they show these bright colors it means that could they can poison a predator. Some sea slugs look poisonous but others actually are.
