A

The first stage of a Horses life cycle is a newborn. Newborns are usually born at night. Shortly after birth the newborn tries to stand up. The mare and newborn sniff each other to learn each others smell. A newborn drinks its mothers milk for about a month.

The second stage of a horses life cycle is a foal. A foal starts to nibble grass when they are about a month old. The foal is starting to play with other foals.The foal is getting bigger and stronger as it gets older.

The third stage of a horses life cycle is a yearling.The yearling now lives on its own. A yearling is much bigger than a newborn. The yearling now weighs 700 pounds.The yearling starts to sleep standing up. A young horse clicks its teeth and sticks its head out.That shows obey to other horses.

The fourth stage of a horses life cycle is a adult.A three year old female horse is called a mare and a three year old male horse is called a stallion.

A mare gives birth after 11 months.Horses keep growing until they are 6 years old.Most horses live between 25 and 30

WHERE A HORSE LIVES Wild horses can be found in Colorado , Montana , Texas , Arizona , California , Wyoming , Oregon , Nevada , Canada , And South Dakota.They live in the dry grasslands.Wild horses need large open spaces and grass to graze.

HOW A HORSE PROTECTS ITSELF Wild horses sleep standing up so if a predator is close they can start running quickly.They are very fast.Wild horses live in groups called herds so one herd member can alert the others.

HOW A HORSE EATS AND DRINKS Wild horses eat Deergrass , Indyan ricegrass , and Great beisin wild rye.Wild horses drink from Springs , Streams , Seeps , and lakes.Wild horses will also eat weeds
