STAGE ONE - EGG
STAGE ONE THATS THE EGG THE MOTHER TURTLE LAYS FIFTY TO TWO HUNDRED EGGS, THE EGGS GO IN THE EGG CHAMBER. THE MOTHER TURTLE COVERS THE CHAMBER WITH SAND AND SHE GOES BACK TO THE SEA AND DOESN'T SEE THE BABIES AGAIN. AFTER TWO MONTHS THEY HATCH, THEY WORK TOGETHER TO GET OUT OF THE CHAMBER. IT CAN TAKE DAYS FOR THEM TO GET OUT.

STAGE TWO HATCHLING THE HATCHLINGS HEAD TO THE OCEAN. THEIR INSTINCTS TELL THEM WHERE TO GO AND THE CURRENT PULLS THE HATCHLING TO SEA. HATCHLING - ANIMALS THAT HAVE JUST COME OUT OF EGGS. THE HATCHLINGS ROAM THE OCEAN FOR AT LEAST FIVE YEARS AND SOME SEA TURTLES CAN ROAM FOR TWENTY YEARS. PREDATOR - ANIMAL THAT EAT OR KILL OTHER ANIMALS FOR FOOD. THE HATCHLING TRIES TO AVOID THE PREDATORS AND SURVIVE AND MAKE THEIR WAY TO DEEPER WATERS.

STAGE THREE YOUNG TURTLE THE BABY TURTLES EAT PLANTS AND ANIMALS UNTIL THEY TURN OLDER SO THEY CAN DEFEND THEMSELVES. THE YOUNG TURTLES GO TO THE COAST BECAUSE THERE'S MORE FOOD THERE.
BACK AT THE COAST THERE'S MORE FOOD THERE, BUT THERE'S ENEMIES. HUMANS ARE THE BIGGEST THREAT TO TURTLES. SOME TURTLES ARE HUNTED BY HUMANS OR CAUGHT BY FISHING LINES.

THE LAST STAGE ADULT TURTLE IT CAN TAKE SEA TURTLES BETWEEN TEN AND FIFTY YEARS TO BECOME ADULTS. ADULT SEA TURTLES ARE READY TO START A FAMILY OF THEIR OWN. SO THEY FIND A MATE AND MAKE THEIR FAMILY. THEY SWIM TO THEIR BREEDING GROUNDS. SOME WILL TRAVEL THOUSANDS OF MILES TO REACH THE BREEDING GROUNDS. BREEDING - GIVING BIRTH TO BABIES. ADULT FEMALE TURTLES RETURN TO THEIR BEACHES WHERE THEY WERE BORN. THEY CREATE THEIR NEST AT THE BEACH AND THE CYCLE STARTS AGAIN. PEOPLE ARE WORKING TO KEEP BEACHES SAFE FROM HUNTERS AND PREDATORS SO SEA TURTLES CAN SURVIVE AND THE HATCHLING CAN HATCH AND BEGIN THEIR OWN JOURNEY.
