STAGE ONE: BABY BEARS Cubs are small and blind and hairless. A grizzly bear cub is born inside it's mother's winter den in January or February. There may one or two other cubs. This means they give birth to babies. Baby bears are called cubs. They are born in the winter while their mother hibernates.

STAGE TWO: CUTE CUBS By their first spring, young cubs weigh between 10 and 20 pounds. When their mother wakes from hibernation the cubs are ready to leave the den with her. For the next two to three years a mother bear will teach her cubs how to survive. She will teach them how to swim, find trees, hunt and find food.

STAGE THREE: ALL GROWN UP

Adult bears have life spans that are short compared to the life span of a person. Some species, such as the American black bear.They live for only about 10 years in the wild. Other's like poler bears live to be between 15 and 20 years. All about a Grizzly bear
