More than a dozen Yellowjacket baseball players are competing for summer ball teams throughout the United States, from local legion teams in Billings to some of the top wood-bat leagues in the Midwest. BILLINGS, Mont. – More than a dozen current and former Montana State University Billings baseball players will be competing in top amateur leagues this summer, as the back-to-back Great Northwest Athletic Conference regularseason champions look to stay sharp in the offseason. “All of our guys who are making the commitment to play in collegiate summer leagues will benefit greatly from the atbats and innings played defensively,” said MSUB head coach Rob Bishop. “The only way to continue to develop gameready skills is to play in a competitive environment. I am excited to see how these guys progress throughout the summer.” Several summer seasons are already underway, while others are set to begin action this weekend. In total, Yellowjackets are located in six different states throughout the U.S., and 10 of the 13 players competing have remaining eligibility and will return to MSUB’s roster next season.
