Continuing to recover from a torn ACL suffered towards the end of the 2014-15 season, MSUB men’s basketball star Momir Gataric will not play during the 2015-16 season as he continues rehabilitation. BILLINGS, Mont. – Continuing to recover from a torn ACL suffered at the end of last season, Montana State University Billings men’s basketball senior Momir Gataric will sit out with a medical redshirt during the 2015-16 announced team officials on Wednesday. “We were counting on Momir to have a big year for us, but that injury bug has really hit him hard,” commented MSUB head coach Jamie Stevens. “Right now the goal is to get him better and get him ready for next year. He was voted preseason all-GNAC and he is a really good player.” Gataric, a unanimous pick to the 2015-16 Great Northwest Athletic Conference men’s basketball preseason allconference team, is the top returning scorer from last season’s squad as he averaged 11.6 points per game. The Sunnyvale, Calif., native also grabbed 3.9 rebounds and had a team second-best 44 assists while averaging 29.2 minutes per game.

Gataric shot 51.6 percent from the field, 29.3 percent from 3-point range (12-for-41), and 58.9 percent from the foul line. He earned GNAC Player of the Week honors last January for back-to-back 20-point performances in road games against Western Washington University and Simon Fraser University. Gataric is in his second year at MSUB, after transferring from West Valley College (Calif.). He is a graduate of Homestead High School, where he was picked as his league’s MVP in two straight seasons. The Yellowjackets (0-2) resume action this weekend with road games at Black Hills State University (Nov. 21) and at the University of Mary (Nov. 23). --@MSUBSports | #JacketNation--
