Montana native Hollie West is named the next director of development and marketing for MSUB’s athletic department. MSUB SPORTS – Hollie West was named the Montana State University Billings athletic department director of development and marketing in an announcement made Tuesday. “We are very pleased Hollie has accepted our offer to join the Yellowjacket family,” said MSUB director of athletics Krista Montague. “She quickly distinguished herself as an energetic, visionary leader, who possesses the skills and character traits we were seeking.” West comes to MSUB after a four-year stint as the marketing assistant at the University of Wyoming from 2012-16, where she spearheaded the annual Walk for Women fundraiser and created specific marketing plans surrounding athletics. “The search committee was particularly impressed with the experience and perspective Hollie brings from her time spent in the athletics department at the University of Wyoming,” Montague commented. “The experience she
draws from her time there along with her ties to the Billings community and state will be great assets for our department. We look forward to great growth in athletics development and marketing under her leadership. West completed both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in communication from the University of Wyoming. Her official start date is set as April 24, 2017. “I am excited to blend the two things I’m passionate about – sports and marketing – into a career at MSUB,” said West. “I’m excited to be here because this is where my family is, and coming back to Billings after being away seems like the right move.” West has worked for the Billings Adult and Community Center since leaving Wyoming in 2016, serving as one of the organization’s marketing and advertising coordinators. She will replace former MSUB athletics director of development Brent Montague, who resigned from the position in March after eight years of service. “Brent was such an integral part of the Yellowjacket program for many years, dating back to his time as a student-athlete on our men’s basketball team,” A.D. Montague said. “We want to sincerely thank him for his dedication and service to our program through his most recent role in the department, and we wish him all the best in his future career endeavors.” A native of Park City, Mont., and a graduate of Park City High School, West will be tasked with maintaining and growing MSUB’s athletic department’s corporate partnerships and coordinating all fundraising events and efforts for Yellowjacket student-athletes.
