After two seasons as assistant coach, Jonathan Woehl is selected as the next head coach for MSUB’s men’s and women’s cross country and track and field programs. BILLINGS, Mont. – After two seasons as an assistant coach, Jonathan Woehl has been named the head coach of the Montana State University Billings men’s and women’s cross country and track and field programs announced the athletic department Tuesday. Woehl, a native of Ankeny, Iowa, has occupied the top assistant position for the Yellowjackets since 2015, and will replace Dave Coppock, who announced his retirement after 28 years at the helm of the programs. “We are extremely excited that Coach Woehl has accepted our offer to become the next head coach of our cross country and track programs,” said Yellowjacket athletic director Krista Montague. “Coach Woehl possesses the characteristics we want in a head coach. He is a person of high character who understands what it takes to be successful on and off the field of competition.”
