Signing a junior college transfer from Dawson Community College, MSUB’s men’s basketball program announces the addition of guard Daniel Shedden for the 2017-18 season. BILLINGS, Mont. – Adding a successful college guard to its roster for the 2017-18 season, the Montana State University Billings men’s basketball program announced the signing of Daniel Shedden to a letter of intent on Thursday. Shedden averaged 17.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game last year as a sophomore at Dawson Community College (Glendive, Mont.), and is a native of Puntarenas, Costa Rica. “We are thrilled that Daniel has chosen to finish his career at MSUB,” said MSUB head coach Jamie Stevens. “We were very impressed with him on his official visit, and he will fit in perfectly with our returners. He is a high-quality individual on and off the court.”

Shedden was a National Junior College Athletic Association all-region selection last season, after starting 26 games and shooting 44.7 percent from the field. He scored 20 or more points in nine games for DCC, and had a season-high 31 points against Yellowstone Christian on Nov. 15, 2016. Moving to a wing position last year, the 6-foot-3 Shedden also chipped in 2.2 assists and 2.0 steals per game. He had five double-doubles, and also led the team with 32 blocked shots. “Daniel is relentless on the court,” said Stevens. “He seems to always be in attack mode. For the fans of Yellowjacket basketball, Daniel will be a really fun player to watch.” Shedden is the third player to sign with the Yellowjackets in advance of next season. He joins Billings native Zharon Richmond (Skyview HS), and Boise, Idaho native Kobe Terashima (Rocky Mountain HS). MSUB finished the 2016-17 season at 14-15 overall, and advanced to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships by finishing in sixth place in the league at 9-11. --@MSUBSports | #JacketNation--
