Kamal Tall joines MSUB Men's Basketball

BILLINGS, Mont. – Adding the final piece to his roster for the 2015-16 season on Monday, Montana State University Billings men’s basketball head coach Jamie Stevens announced the signing of Kamal Tall, a native of Leuven, Belgium.

“Kamal rounds out our 2015 recruiting class,” Stevens commented. “He gives us yet another big body for the upcoming season. From what we have seen on film, Kamal is very athletic for his size and plays very hard.”

Tall comes to MSUB after attending Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven) in Flanders, Belgium. The 6-foot-8 forward played for the Leuven Bears and Bavi Vilvoorde during his prep years, and was selected as a two-time all-star.

Tall also earned recognition as the top rebounder in the Belgian Development League. “Kamal is transferring from a world-class university and will be the kind of student we want to represent MSUB Basketball,” Stevens said. “With his addition, we will have the biggest team since I have been here. We knew that to compete in the GNAC we had to get bigger at every position. We feel like we have done that and we feel like we also have depth at all five spots.”

“I have a good feeling about MSUB,” Tall commented. “I think it is a great place for me to work hard, get a good degree, and develop as a person and an athlete. I think it is a great place to get the right focus. When I talked to Coach Stevens for the first time, I immediately felt like he was the right coach for me.”

Tall joins five other recruits who have each signed letters of intent to compete for the Yellowjackets in 2015-16. Cade Alcorn (Fresno, Calif.) and Preston Beverly (Wildomar, Calif.) each signed with MSUB last fall, and Sven Jeuschede (Roesrath, Germany), Zack Lessinger (Reno, Nev.), and Emmanuel Olufemi (Lagos, Nigeria) will all join Tall and MSUB for the upcoming season.
