Ricardo Palomino earns offensive most valuable player and Tom Saltwell earns defensive MVP after the duo helps the Yellowjackets to a pair of victories at the 2015 MSUB Rimrock Classic. BILLINGS, Mont. – Topping the all-tournament team for the 2015 Montana State University Billings Rimrock Classic sponsored by TNT Automotive & Marine were offensive most valuable player Ricardo Palomino and defensive most valuable player Tom Saltwell of the Yellowjackets. Palomino scored six goals in MSUB’s two matches, including four in a 5-1 win over South Dakota Mines on Sunday. Palomino also scored two goals in MSUB’s 5-0 shutout of Carroll College on Friday. Saltwell anchored a back line that allowed just two shots against the Hardrockers on Sunday, after notching its first shutout of the season against Carroll on Friday. The junior played all 90 minutes against the Saints and added 80 more as a central defender on Sunday against the Hardrockers. Seven Yellowjackets were on the all-tournament team, as Julian Toenges, David Loeung, Cameron Lee, Tom Lohmann, and Sam Butterworth joined Palomino and Saltwell among the honorees.


Toenges had three assists – all to Palomino – and a goal on Sunday, after a goal and an assist in MSUB’s big win on Friday. Loeung scored the first goal of the tournament for the ‘Jackets on Friday, and also had an assist in the match. Lee and Butterworth were each part of the strong defensive unit for MSUB, as was Lohmann and goal. On Sunday, Lohmann added an assist to his stat line, playing a booming long ball 70 yards downfield and finding Toenges for MSUB’s fourth goal against the Hardrockers.

For the University of Mary, Jonathan Sellars, Christoffer Nogueira, and Aaron Brennan each earned all-tournament honors. Nogueira scored the Marauders’ only goal in a 1-1 draw against South Dakota Mines on Friday. Brennan played 193 of 200 minutes as a defender for Mary, which defeated Carroll College 3-2 on Sunday to exit the tournament with a victory and a draw.

Jose Porras represented Carroll College on the all-tournament team, as he scored one of the Saints’ two goals against Mary on Sunday. Seven players also earned honorable mention, with the Yellowjackets’ Niklas Schregel, Rhys Lambert, and Jorge Paez representing the host team. Michael McGraw and Brandon Lind represented South Dakota Mines, Terry Cox earned honorable mention for Carroll, and Miguel Bartolo scored twice to earn recognition for Mary.
