SPEARFISH, S.D. – The MSUB men’s track and field team opened its 2015 indoor season with the Yellow Jacket Holiday Open hosted by Black Hills State University. The Yellowjackets were up against athletes from Chadron State, South Dakota School of Mines, Gillette College, and host Black Hill State. “This was a good opening test for some of returners and some of our new athletes,” MSUB head coach Dave Coppock said. “I think this was very eye-opening for a lot of our younger competitors, and will serve as a good learning experience for the rest of the season.”
Senior Josh Panasuk came away with two top-5 finishes. The native of Butte, Mont., came in fourth in the mile with a time of 4:31.22, and was fifth in the 3,000 meters clocking in at 9:11.72. The St. Vincent Healthcare Athlete of the Meet redshirted the cross country season for the Yellowjackets, but is back on the track for MSUB during the indoor season.
