Competing for MSUB in his final season of eligibility in the fall of 2015, senior Guido Riffeser becomes a part of the Yellowjackets’ men’s soccer coaching staff. BILLINGS, Mont. – Guido Riffeser, a senior from Selva Val Gardena, Italy, will join the Montana State University Billings men’s soccer coaching staff after completing the fall season on the Yellowjackets’ roster. Riffeser, a transfer from Nova Southeastern University this season, played in 11 matches in his final year as a midfielder. “We are thrilled Guido will be joining our coaching staff,” commented MSUB head coach Alex Balog. “In his few months here, Guido has made a very positive impact on our student-athletes, program, and department.” Riffeser earned six starts throughout the fall season, and finished the year with one assist. He placed four of his eight shots on target, and also took seven corner kicks for the Yellowjackets. He saw the pitch for 569 minutes, averaging 51.7 per game.
Riffeser will join Balog, in his third season as head coach, and assistant coach Thomas Chameraud on the coaching staff for MSUB. Kyle Emerick, a 2014 MSUB graduate, will continue to serve in his capacity as volunteer assistant coach which he began prior to the 2015 fall season. “Guido will bring good, in-depth knowledge about the game to our program and will contribute in every aspect of the college game,” Balog said. “With Guido’s intelligence and insight, we keep building our program and coaching staff to be even more successful in the fall of 2016.” MSUB finished the season in fourth place in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, with an overall record of 8-6-4 and a mark of 6-5-3 in conference games. --@MSUBSports | #JacketNation--
