MSUB’s volleyball team will play a 30-match schedule during the fall 2017 season, including a pair of competitive tournaments and a full slate of conference contests. BILLINGS, Mont. – A 30-match schedule awaits the Montana State University Billings volleyball team this fall, as the Yellowjackets announced their slate of contests on Monday. “I am excited about the competition we will see in the fall,” commented second-year head coach Casey Williams. “The teams we will face at our two tournaments will help prepare us for our tough GNAC schedule.” The Yellowjackets are slated for a tournament at Minot State University on Sept. 1-2, before heading to Washington for the D2 West Region Volleyball Showcase hosted by Saint Martin’s University Sept. 7-9. MSUB makes its home regular season debut on Sept. 15-16, hosting the University of Alaska and 2016 NCAA Division II national runner up University of Alaska Anchorage on back-to-back nights at Alterowitz Gym. The 20-game, double
round-robin conference schedule extends into mid-November, with the ‘Jackets closing the year on a four-game road trip covering Nov. 9-18. Five total home conference series are on the calendar, including back-toback weekends at home Oct. 12-21. MSUB will also host Rocky Mountain College on its Pink Night Oct. 24, in the finale of a season-long five-game home stand. MSUB’s final home match of the year is on Nov. 4 against Concordia, and the game will be designated Senior Night for the ‘Jackets. All MSUB home matches will feature live video with play-by-play commentary and live statistics, available free of charge through MSUB’s Stretch Internet portal here. Tickets for home games are available for purchase at the door, and are $5 for the general public, $3 for seniors ages 65 and up, students in grades 7-12, and MSUB faculty and staff, and free admission for all MSUB students and children in grades six and under. The NCAA Division II West Region Championships, which featured five GNAC teams among the eight competitors a season ago, are scheduled for Nov. 23-25.
