After hosting the NCAA Division II West Region Cross Country Championships in both 2014 and 2016, MSUB wins the bid to host the event again in 2018 and 2020. BILLINGS, Mont. – After hosting the NCAA Division II West Region Cross Country Championships in both 2014 and 2016, Montana State University Billings has been awarded hosting rights for the 2018 and 2020 events announced by the NCAA on Tuesday. The Yellowjacket athletic department welcomed more than 30 men’s and women’s teams and 400 runners to Amend Park in both previous years, and will begin the planning process for two of the next four regional championships. “We are thrilled MSUB and the city of Billings have been chosen to host this premier NCAA D2 event again,” said MSUB athletic director Krista Montague. “It is such an honor to help put our university, Billings, and Montana in the spotlight with prestigious and highly competitive events such as these.”

The 2018 event is scheduled for Nov. 17, and the 2020 event will take place on Nov. 7, both at Amend Park in Billings. Both events will feature men’s and women’s runners from the west region, which is comprised of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, the California Collegiate Athletic Association, and the PacWest Conference. “We are looking forward to hosting the various teams from all over the west region, from Hawaii to Alaska and everywhere in between,” Montague said. “We know the student-athletes will have an amazing time here, and enjoy not only the excitement of the event, but also all of the things there are to see and do here in our city.” For more information on the NCAA site selections and to view the selection show announcement video, click here. --@MSUBSports | #JacketNation--
