TR E N D FO RE C A STI NG Fashion branding agency T h e S t y l e F o u n d r y pay close attention to trims, garment construction and branding – working with APXpress to reinvent new labelling techniques for global brands. What starts with a simple idea instigated by something that may have been spied in Hong Kong, is rolled out into a mood board of button branding, garment labelling and hang tag construction – supporting imagery, colour cards and collection story further explain the thought process behind their ideas and execution. TheStyleFoundry come in to support in-house design teams, saving them time through research, and saving the brand money through development. With on-brand trend forecasting, agencies like TheStyleFoundry work trends into a brand’s already existing story and vice versa.

From trade shows to fashion weeks, from fabric fairs to street style, trends determine how clothes will be made, who will wear them and sometimes for how long. At APXpress we take informed trend forecasting and analysis very seriously. Its a curiosity for information be it the latest developments in culture, art, music, film and fashion. Trend analysis is a way to connect the dots by looking for patterns and shifts in fashion pertinent to our business. Forecasting trends doesn’t just start with clothing items. What first needs to be determined are the basics. What fabrics are big for Fall? What treatments will decide what denim we will be donning? What buttons and bows will embellish our outerwear? These details make for a more exclusive look and feel for every unique collection. Quite often a new way of branding an item of clothing can take several months, a team of people and an outside opinion before it is rolled out into stores.
