TODAY’S PANELISTS JOYCE JOHNSON-MILLER Relativity Capital, LLC Joyce Johnson-Miller is a senior managing director and co-head of Relativity Capital, LLC, a private equity fund that invests in both distressed and healthy middle market companies. Johnson-Miller has been and active investor in the private equity marketplace for more than 16 years. Previously she was a managing director of Cerberus Capital Management, LLC. While at Cerberus, Johnson-Miller founded JJM, LLC (“JJM”), a certified minority owned private equity fund focused on distressed middle market investments in the manufacturing, automotive and related industries. Prior to that, she was vice president of ING Bank’s corporate restructuring group and started her career in the leveraged capital finance group at Citicorp. She serves on the board of directors of three privately held companies, including Evergreen Maintenance Center, Inc. Johnson-Miller is a 2007 Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute and serves as vice chairman of the 21st Century Foundation. She received her B.A. from the University of Denver.
PAUL T. WEISBRICH McGladrey Capital Markets LLC Paul Weisbrich is a senior managing director of McGladrey Capital Markets. Weisbrich possesses over two decades of investment banking and corporate finance experience on behalf of middle market and public companies with an emphasis on cross-border transactions. Prior to joining McGladrey Capital Markets, he was a managing director in the mergers and acquisitions group at Bank of America Securities. Weisbrich previously was a managing director at Montgomery Securities and an M&A principal at Robertson Stephens. He has been a member of the Loyola Marymount National Alumni Board of Directors for three years and an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business Executive MBA program for 15 years. He received a B.A. in business from Loyola Marymount University and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California.
TODAY’S MODERATOR STEVE PIERSON GE Pierson joined GE in 1998 and has more than 20 years of finance experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry. He has held positions as a risk manager at GE Aircraft Engines along with sales at GE Commercial Aviation Services where he provided aircraft and engine financing to both domestic and international airlines. In 2006, he was the Aerospace & Defense Industry Leader for GE Corporate Lending and was involved in financing M&A activity for clients. Prior to joining GE, Pierson was with Wells Fargo Bank and Lockheed Finance. Pierson received his Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Fresno and an MBA from Monterey Institute.
TODAY’S MODERATOR DALE E. WALLIS The Aerospace Corporation Dale Wallis is vice president, chief financial officer, and treasurer of The Aerospace Corporation. Wallis is responsible for finance, budgeting, contract administration, procurement, treasury and risk management. Before joining Aerospace in 1997, Wallis was vice president of administration and chief financial officer for COMPS Infosystems, Inc. and was director of finance for Mycogen Corporation. Prior to that, he held senior management positions at Ernst & Young and KPMG. Wallis is currently on the board of directors of Financial Executives International and serves on both the Dean’s Advisory Council for the College of Business at Loyola Marymount University and the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Business at California State University, Dominguez Hills. He is an adjunct professor of accounting at the University of Southern California and formerly was a member of the faculty at East Central University. He holds a B.A and M.S. in accounting from Oklahoma State University.
