Editorial. Greetings, and welcome to 1992. I wish you all a happy, healthy and informed new year. Without being psychic I think we can accurately predict the following: i) Dr. Hewson will be the next Prime Minister along with GST. ii) There will be more volcanos and earthquakes than last year, especially around the pacific rim. iii) The Australian and global economies will worsen. iv) There will be more wars in the Middle East, and it won't surprise me if the UK or the USA invade or attack Libya during the year. and v) There will be yet more UFO sightings. Another major event which I predict will happen - are the Bruce Cathie & Stan Deyo Conferences in May this year. I cannot urge readers strongly enough to attend these events (see pages 34-36 this issue) - you will learn much of what is really going on in the world, especially in the area of "suppressed" scientific research. I would like to thank the many thousands of readers we now have for regularly supporting each issue of Nexus New Times Magazine, with a special thank you to those people who care enough to subscribe. Letters to the editor... Re: Fluoridation Dear Duncan, I would like to commend you for publishing yet another article on Fluoridation. Our secretive bureaucracy has really conned the public on this matter. May I say something about the sly way the English language is used to give false legality to this unethical practice. The whole scam pivots around the word "adjust." If the Health Dept. told the whole truth and stated that an artificial substance was added to the water supply to help prevent tooth decay, then this would be officially classed as mass medication. But a halftruth is spoken - "the natural fluoride levels are adjusted up to the level of 1ppm" - conveniently not mentioning what with! I have been told by government officials that sodium fluoride is not a pesticide and it is not a drug. We are told that dental fluorosis is only a cosmetic problem. And no amount of quoting from official registers and dictionaries can elicit a retraction of these blatant bits of misinformation. The ACT Report on Water Fluoridation denies that fluoridation is an assault upon our civil liberties, because we have the option of filtering it out. The tap water - yes. Soy and juice products - NO. In spite of accepted medical ethics, we are being secretly dosed with fluoride. The NH&MRC Reports state that the "socially disadvantaged" (whoever they are supposed to be) are the special target for water fluoridation because this counteracts any possible lapse of memory or negligence. So one assumes that these people
shouldn't even consider exercising their civil rights by filtering the water as suggested by the ACT Inquiry. I am appalled to see sodium fluoride tablets on sale listing a dose for pregnant women (banned in the USA) and suggesting 0.25mg daily for infants over 2 months of age. Nature meant babies to only have about 0.025ppm (or 0.025mg per litre of milk). But nothing has been done about the infant formulas which can contain up to 3.70ppm (plus the 1ppm in the water, OR 0.25mg tablets). Why has this continued unchecked? The water fluoridation programme is damned, not only by independent research, but by actual government reports and documents - even dictionaries. It was just hoped that the public was too stupid to actually seek them out and read them. As for bureaucratic wording, it borders on newspeak. J. Gow, New Brighton, NSW

Many Aborigines laugh at attempts to capture this 'creature', particularly as it is known by them to be telepathic. Re: Subliminals on TV Dear Sir, I have just read a note in the latest Nexus edition about subliminal advertising and it brought to mind an incident that occurred a few years ago. Some friends were visiting us and we were all watching TV. As they had lived without electricity they had not seen TV for some months. An advert came on and my friend Tommy experienced a flash with lasted a split second and she saw on the TV, Bob Hawke and another man who she did not recognise grinning out at her. Of course the message was unmistakable considering the elections were imminent. At the time we had never heard of subliminal advertising, but noone doubted Tommy saw what she said she saw. Congratulations on a unique magazine! Having travelled extensively in Oz and researched the so-called "Yowie" myself, I've found that many Aborigines are aware of Mr. Rex Gilroy's efforts at tracking down what he considers to be a subhuman beast. The Aboriginal view of this entity is very different. To them, the Yowie is NOT the roaming simian that Mr Gilroy identifies as identical to the 'Doolagahl', but a spirit being which manifests in many different forms. Brisbane Courier Mail ran a story with a photograph of a mystery war ship that turned up in Moreton Bay on December 19. The warship was photographed by a group of Brisbane lawyers and identified as being the USS Missouri. However, the Brisbane Harbour Master, the Royal Australian Navy and the US Consul all claim the USS Missouri was not there and they would have known if it was. Could it be that the USS Missouri was involved in a teleportation experiment? Such a large ship could not have made its way to this location by any normal means without being noticed by the authorities. It would have required a local pilot to guide it through the shipping channels. It makes sense that if the people who worked on the Philadelphia Experiment in 1943 really did cause the USS Eldridge to vanish and rematerialize somewhere else, then today they might try the same thing on an aging battleship like the Missouri. Even more intriguing is the fact that the Missouri was launched in 1944, but like the Eldridge, could have put to sea before the official launch. This would have made it available, 'unofficially' during the time of the Philadelphia Experiment in late 1943. If there's any truth to the claims of time travel then the ship may have jumped from 1943 to December 1991. Brisbane was US Pacific Headquarters in WWII and the Missouri which was also involved in the Pacific campaign would certainly have plied nearby waters in those terms. M. Stevens,. Loganholme. Qld

RADIOACTIVE BULLETS USED ON IRAQ DURING GULF WAR The continuing aftermath of the "Gulf War" leaves some of us wondering - 'who were the good guys, and who were the bad guys?'. Apart from the existing list of atrocities committed by the UK and USA which includes burying thousands of Iraqis alive; deliberately bombing civilian targets; massacring an entire column of Iraqis after the ceasefire; and allegedly using "mind control' weaponry; we now discover that allied forces were using anti-tank shells containing depleted Uranium (U-238) during the conflict. In other words, radioactive bullets, designed to pierce armour were fired in the tens of thousands - enough to dump literally tonnes of radioactive material over large areas of Iraq and Kuwait. According to the International Com-mission on Radiological Protection, the tank ammunition alone would contain more than 50,000 pounds of depleted uranium enough material to cause more than 500,000 deaths. This does not count the bullets fired from aircraft which would be at least double this number. The chemical toxins and radioactive materials from these anti-tank shells portend a wide-scale human and environmental disaster. To make matters worse, soldiers, construction workers, and mine-clearing experts working in the Gulf since the war, have not been fully informed of the risks posed by this depleted Uranium scattered over vast areas of the region. According to a UK newspaper, The Independent on Sunday (10th Novem-ber 1991), the Atomic Energy Report on the health risks involved has not been circulated to the workers cleaning up in Kuwait. According to experts the biggest problem stems from workers breathing in radioactive dust, caused after the shells exploded on impact.

U.S. PARENTS DEMAND ACTION ON VACCINES A U.S. district court has been asked to compel the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) to publish accurate and complete information for parents on the risks and benefits of mandated childhood vaccines. Earlier this year the National Academy of Science's Institute of Medicine (IOM) found a causal link between DPT (diphtheria-pertussis-tetanus) vaccine, brain inflammation and other serious reactions. The IOM report found that available information supports a causal relationship between DPT vaccination and prolonged screaming, anaphylactic shock (sometimes life threatening), shock/collapse, seizures accompanied by fever and acute brain inflammation. For more than two decades, doctors and parents have been warned by the vaccine manufacturers and HHS not to give more pertussis vaccine to children who have suffered these serious reactions. Incidentally, two of the most prominent physicians from the Immunization Practices Advisory Committee, the HHS advisory committee which makes national vaccine
In the 25 years ended December 1962, nearly 2/3 of the children born in England and Wales remained unvaccinated for smallpox, yet only 4 children under 5 died from smallpox; while of the 1/3 vaccinated, 86 children under the age of 5 were killed by the vaccination, and many more were seriously injured by it. MYSTERY OBJECT ELUDES ASTRONOMERS The unidentified object that hurtled past Earth before dawn on Thursday remains a mystery, astronomers said yesterday, and it apparently slipped by without them getting a good look. A week ago, astronomers had decided that the tiny object, which passed slightly farther away from Earth than the moon’s distance of 240,000 miles, was probably an asteroid — a chunk of interplanetary rock probably less than 30 feet across - but observations on Monday by European astronomers working in Chile showed dramatic variations in brightness which suggest an irregularly shaped, tumbling object with great variations in its surface reflectivity, much more so than expected for a natural object like an asteroid, said Brian Marsden, an astronomer. Marsden, director of the Cambridgebased International Astronomical Union’s Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams and Minor Planet Center, said yesterday that the variation in brightness means that the object is likely to be artificial. During its closest approach to Earth on

Astronomers at the European Southern Observatory in Chile tried to get pictures of it shortly after its closest approach in order to get more precise data on its exact path and to make further measurements of its brightness variations. But as of yesterday, they were unable to find any sign of the object in their pictures. Because of the difficulty of the observation and the faintness of the object, astronomers Richard West and Oliver Hainaut at the observatory in the Chilean Andes continued to examine their images carefully yesterday. “I was hoping it would be natural,” said Marsden, because that would make it a very unusual type of asteroid and the smallest ever detected, and therefore interesting to astronomers. But because of the brightness changes seen this week, he is now “90 percent sure” that it is artificial. If it is artificial but not any known rocket, that might explain the astronomers’ inability to locate it in their pictures, Marsden joked. “Maybe that’s why they couldn’t be found last night,” he said.”Maybe they landed.” (Source: The Boston Globe, 7th Dec '91, page 13)
FREEDOM OF SPEECH NOT IN AUSTRALIA! Australians did not have a guaranteed right to free speech, the High Court was told in early December. The court was told that although the right of free speech was recognised by the courts, the Australian Constitution did not guarantee it. Mr David Jackson, for the Commonwealth Government, told the court the Government had the power to restrict expression to protect itself. Mr Jackson was representing the Commonwealth in a case which could determine whether the Australian Constitution guarantees free speech. The case arose following the 1989 publication in The Australian of an article by the late Max Newton criticising the then
Conciliation and Arbitration Commission. The Commonwealth says the article breached legislation allowing prosecution for contempt of the commission. (Source: Courier Mail, 5th Dec. '91)
WHO CAN YOU TRUST? A new book out on Walt Disney, claims that Walt was a paid informant for the FBI. Author Marc Eliot was shattered to find that Disney's FBI file revealed he was a key informant for J. Edgar Hoover, and that he spied on his friends and helped prepare files on sexual and political leanings. Eliot says that Disney's politics were "somewhat to the right of Attila the Hun" and ran to Hoover with every bit of scandal he heard on leftist artists. It took 14 months of legal battling to obtain Disney's FBI file, and then the courts had to order the FBI to refrain from blocking out sections of the file. (Source: Sun Herald, 1st Dec '91)
PROPOSAL TO TAX "BARTERING" The Australian Taxation Office has issued a draft ruling which if becoming law, will tax bartered goods and services. Australia's economic climate has seen several dynamic "barter" businesses emerge, on of the most popular being LETS (Local Employment Trading Scheme). Others include Barter Card, and ContraBank. The Taxation Commissioner, Trevor Boucher said that cashless trading has been used increasingly as a tax loophole by struggling businesses. Until now, because there was no money exchanged in a barter agreement, the businesses could avoid paying tax, but the tax department says that the barter agreement was still a commercial transaction where a "profit" was made, even if no money was transferred. The transfer of goods to another company would be seen as an increase in income, which was taxable, Mr Boucher said. (Source: Daily Telegraph Mirror, 5th Sept '91)

CIA ADVERTISING FOR SPIES? Most Nexus readers have likely already spotted ASIO advertising for spies in the local papers. Well it seems as though the CIA also advertises for spies in the local media. The collapse of the Iron Curtain and the lack of a Cold War has made it difficult for the CIA to recruit the right kind of spy (whatever that is). So the agency recently began a new, up front advertising campaign directed to ethnic minorities and using the slogan: "The CIA. Our Business Is Knowing The World's Business". No - it's not a joke. FREEDOM OF INFORMATION UNIT ABOLISHED IN NSW The next best thing to abolishing an Act you don't like, is to abolish the bureaucrats who are delegated to looking after it - that is, if you are the NSW State Government. The Government came under heavy criticism for the move from Independent MPs, Mr. John Hatton, Ms. Clover Moore and Dr. Peter Macdonald. The FOI unit was closed in July last year (1991), leaving responsibility in the hands of officials within other government departments. These officials, however, face a conflict of interest if information damaging to their departments is sought. We wonder if it is because the NSW Government has something to hide? KUWAIT OIL VOLCANOS STILL ACTIVE When Sheikh Jabir-al’ Ahmad al-Jabir al Sabah strode purposefully towards the control panel to extinguish the last of the oil fires in Kuwait, he walked across some 12,000 tonnes of carefully washed sand, laid in the area to create an environmental illusion. As al Sabah ceremonially pressed the button that snuffed out the last of the flames for ever, he unwittingly quadrupled the magnitude of the oil disaster. With a flick of his wrist al Sabah turned a valve at the podium, while the television cameras obediently panned swiftly to the last burning wellhead. The flames ceased abruptly and the camera crew panned upward to record the last few wisps of oily black smoke drifting across a brilliant blue sky. Moments later global electronic networks were confirming that the last of the Kuwaiti wells had been ‘capped’ in record time. Sadly, nothing could have been further from the truth. The carefully orchestrated stage performance was a coldly calculated illusion. The stage floor was constructed of bright yellow sand specially imported for the occasion, concealing the oily filth that lurked only inches below the surface. Camera angles accidentally excluded the large number of uncapped high pressure wells still violently spewing plumes of oil into the air, with a combined flow so great the landscape was already being trans-

formed into a nightmare river system of filthy stinking black crude, bubbling with entrained gas. While the wells were alight most of the oil was kept clear of the ground by combustion. With the fires out, the situation has deteriorated seriously. The British World Conservation Monitoring Centre, supported by the UN Environmental Program, observed; Burning wells cause less pollution dam age than non-burning gushers. With output from Kuwait and Iraq effectively at a standstill, Arab National production has decreased by 4.36 million barrels per day to 8.81 million barrels, a 33% drop. If George Bush carries out his threat of military ‘reprisals’ against Libya for the alleged bombing of the Pan Am Jumbo, then oil production from that country might also be curtailed. If so, Arab national production will drop by a further 1.36 millions barrels per day or another 10.3%. Libya was still providing humanitarian aid to Iraq when America and Great Britain ‘suddenly’ discovered new evidence alleging Libyan responsibility for the Pan Am bombing. Overall, the USA could reduce Arab National production from 13.17 to 7.45 million barrels per day, a staggering 43%, accidentally providing an economic windfall for American multinational oil companies and the US economy as a whole. The long term results of reduced production will be to increase world oil prices as high as US $35 per barrel, a level that would generate a second miraculous windfall effect for the US and also Great Britain. WAS MAXWELL MURDERED? The mystery surrounding the death of media magnate Robert Maxwell deepens. A second autopsy has shown extensive bruising inconsistent with his merely having fallen or jumped into the sea. Bruising was found to his left shoulder, brain, spine, nostrils and upper lip. An abdominal wound 12cm x 9cm was found on the right side above the waist. It has been reported that Robert Maxwell had extensive links with Israeli Intelligence (Mossad) and the KGB. According to former Soviet police Col. Zaloman Levitsky, Maxwell had a "contractual, well-paid relationship" with the KGB, and was a "key link" in some secret operations run jointly by the KGB and the Mossad. It also purported that Maxwell pressured his Israeli contacts for legal and financial help needed to stave off an imminent collapse of his empire. It is rumoured that upon being refused such aid, Maxwell warned his Israeli contacts that his downfall would prove "highly damaging" to the Israeli state. "We still don't quite know who in the Mossad terminated him", said one British investigator, "but we know that they were the one outfit with strong motives and ample means to silence this desperate agent and potential defector." S U B L I M I N A L WA R F A R E ELF Extremely Low Frequency Magnetic Fields. They affect us all in ways we may never consciously realise! by Dr. Robert Beck President, United States Psychotronics Association, 1985. This presentation consisted primarily of a slide presentation with commentary. The text has been extracted from a version of this lecture published in 1978 by Borderland Sciences Research Foundation. In 1952, German physicist named W.O. Schumann, playing around with math as physicists are prone to do, postulated that the earth - being a good conductor - was surrounded by a good dialectric called air. And around this is another layer of a good conductor known as the ionosphere, the Heaviside Layer, and that this constitutes a potentially resonant system. That means that any energy trapped in this earth-ionosphere cavity - like lightning storms, etc., - will cause it to ring like a bell. But the surprise was that this signal frequency was the identical spectrum of human brain waves. It had to be of irresistible interest to me to build an apparatus which would measure the earth's brain wave, and at the same time measure the Witch Doctor's brain waves, and see if there was a correlation - which we did. Koch and Pitchum at the University of Rhode Island, had made recordings of the earth's brain wave; and those of you who know anything about Encephalography could almost diagnose the patient by these little squiggles. They look identical to human brain waves! (See fig. 1) We're reading the Magnetic H-wave which is the psychoactive component. Any radio propagation wave has three components: the E-wave which can be picked up by an antenna, the electro-static component, and the magnetic component - the vector is 90 degrees at right angles to it. So we built apparatus to test the thesis: There are certain people walking among us today - perhaps one person in three thousand who by dent of heredity, or training, meditation , or whatever it might be, is able to tune in to this magnetic component which is down around one micro-gauss, one millionth of a gauss. Somehow they latch on to this cosmic carrier of information, transduce it into paranormal "seeing" ability. Now, the brain wave spectra seems to centre around that magic number of 7.8 to 8.0 Hertz (cycles per second). In other words, we know have an objective test to see whether that person is tuning into a paranormal state of consciousness, or whether he is making it up as he goes along. If we look at these curves at 8 Hz, 7.8 Hz, there is a tremendous node in the earth's brain wave. There's another one at about 14 Hz, etc. Amazing! The same numbers which you get at the alpha-beta border, the alpha wave, beta, etc. Man is a bio-cosmic resonator. Now what are some of the factors which can alter human moods if this thesis is correct? Sunspot activity. Recall how solar flare activity totally disrupts radio communication on this planet? It also changes the frequency of the Schumann wave. Lunar tides. The same gravity forces that cause tides in our oceans de-tunes the earth ionosphere cavity slightly, changing its frequency. How about this as a solution for "moon madness"? A lot of previously anecdotal, but very well documented data, is going to seem to fit this model of why is man sensitive to these cosmic events. Here are some photographs of solar flare activity. The earth, drawn to the same scale as some of these tremendous bursts of energy, is this little dot right here. Tremendous bursts of energy from outer space alter the earth's ionospheric cavity, therefore changing the frequency slightly; therefore it can re-tune our nervous systems, electromagnetically. Figure 2 is a reproduction of chart 9, page 144) On page 142, Dewey and Dakin write: "... in 1934, two Harvard research workers, Carlos Garcia-Mata and Felix Shaffner, reexamined the Jevons studies (on crop cycles) and checked them; they ended up with the conclusion that the sunspot phenomena showed no correlation with agricultural production, but - the solar phenomena showed a remarkable correlation with industrial production, business activity, and with stock market prices. Since this particular outcome of these studies apparently left them a little surprised and aghast, the two students threw up their hands and passed the problem over to the biologists and the psychologists." Who weren't particularly interested, we might add. But Russian physicists were! They later proved in their own way the the 4th Kingdom of Nature, the human kingdom, reacts immediately to the magnetic changes of the sun, and offered this knowledge for the practical and tactical use of the military maniacs in Moscow. Now we won't go into the physics of the H-Layer and the ILayer, etc., but basically the ionized particles that are emitted by the sunspot activity eventually arrive at earth, are trapped at the north and south Geomagnetic Poles, and cause all sorts of electromagnetic anomalys. One of the things that we are familiar with that are triggered by this energy coming in from the sun are the Northern Lights, the Aurora Borealis. These reveal the tremendous amount of energy that comes in and ionizes the rare gasses, creating the luminescence, nature's light show. What if the ancient people realized that on certain days of the year, (the solstices, the equinoxes, etc), these frequencies change? And what if the priesthood decided to build observatories like Stonehenge and the ones all over Central and South America, Europe and England - to predict these so the people could be either
freed or implanted all over again. I don't know the answers to those totally hypothetical questions, but it was terribly important to them to predict these days. Now man is unique in that the RNA in his brain has a dielectric constant (K) of 140,000. How many engineers are here? Do you realise the significance of that figure? That one little cell, out of billions and billions in your cerebral cortex, can approach the liquid crystal boundaries. It's a quantum transducer that will respond to coherent energies in the neighborhood of one hundredth of a micro-gauss. This has not been suspected until fairly recently. It means that we are not $2.40 worth of minerals and water - as I learned when I was in the third grade. We are incredibly complex bio-cosmic transducers; and the things that we have been calling mind, or occult, or what have you, are today surrendering to scientific research on a rational basis. It means that we have within us probably one of the most sensitive, quadruple-conversion, superheterodyne receivers that's ever been developed; and that we can respond to energy levels that almost appear paranormal. In fact, some of the paperwork that came out of the secret files, and was declassified and hand delivered to me, pointed out that our own Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in 1975 had given a research grant to Garret Air Research Corporation, El Segundo, California, which Dr. Ed Wortz (one of my buddies in biofeedback research), and Dr. Jed Erkins had predicted the exact mechanism by which the Soviets are manipulating - or can manipulate us globally using this very data; that man, as a bio-cosmic transducer, can respond to things which had previously been called ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) with known, physical mechanisms. That's what it means. Now, an interesting thing developed. A.S. Pressman, Dept of Physics, Moscow University, did this open literature survey of the work on magnetics and life a number of years ago. Is this trying to tell us something? At the time I did my own literature search - and I have a copy of the bibliography here, in which I found 182 references in the open literature - to the effects of extremely low frequency electro-static and electromagnetic fields on human performance, mood etc. At that time all of these things were in the open literature. Now one of my students went around to the bio-med library in UCLA not long ago (University of California at Los Angeles) and found a number of these had been sliced out of the text with a razor blade! That leads us to two conclusions: were the kids too broke to put a dime in the Xerox machine? Or had some of these been purposely removed? How about the relationship between the mean annual magnetic activity and the number of Sunspots? Again, man is a bio-cosmic transducer. We know we live on a planet that has fairly well predicted (7, 21, 11, etc), cycles. What about this curve of magnetic storms, and mortality This was Dr. Polk's original paper, and then this "cop out" about from nervous and cardiovascular diseases? If you changed that signal down a few cycles per second, 3Hz to 5Hz, look what happens to the reaction time. This applies to human beings, monkeys, cats, - apparently all life forms that have brain waves. Let's get out of here and into other things. Solar activity and incidence of cerebral spinal meningitis. Tom Bearden was talking about carrier possibilities? We don't know whether the waves lower your resistance, or you can actually put the information on them and it is recreated inside the nervous system. Crest days of weather and the relation to sun spots and magnetic disturbances, etc. Mortality, diseases of the nervous system and the lower curve of sun spot activity. In other words, we are looking here at natural ELF phenomena before it began being manipulated. Sun spots and earth's magnetic activity. Again - epidemic meningitis. Okay, now it gets really interesting. Socio-political mass disturbances, 1923 to 1927, in Europe, related to Full Moon axis. Remember, the full moon modifies the tides. It modifies these frequencies. In this case the tides are in the Ionosphere and the Heaviside Layer and their position above the earth. Double daily deaths from angina pectoris, and combined groups on the Lunar axis. What if we could manipulate this? Whole populations would be subject. Tuberculosis. Does it influence those germs, those little microbes as well? I don't know, but there it is, positive correlation. Cholera in Russia, from 1823 to 1923, versus solar activity in the same period. Our first attempt at manufacturing psychics and radionics operators and healers was to put these little light bulbs in an empty eyeglass frame. On the left is an incandescent bulb and on the right is a little cold cathode indicator, like on your FM radio tuner. We flashed these little lights in real time to the Schumann resonance (we picked the Schumann resonance up on a coil), filtered out everything except that wave to which he psychics would entrain and fed them this little flickering light. If you flash a light in a person's face you get an evoked potential in the occipital cortex. That's the photic response. And you know that if that is at a certain frequency you are going to turn that person on to epilepsy. But, if you put in a beneficial frequency, you can probably cause an evoked response of the brain wave at that frequency. Now that was marvelous, except for one thing. It takes about one hundred milliseconds from the time that light flashes for the signal to cause an evoked potential, and that hundred milliseconds varies for most human beings. In other words, you can test IQ with this little box. The longer it takes that flash to get out here as an electrical signal the dumber that person is because the slower his system is responding.
After we found that this thing could alter moods, the questions came up: Is this hypnosis? Suggestion? Am I a magician? Am I doing it? So it occurred to me that I'd carry this thing around with me in my pocket. Now, I'm a bachelor. I've been divorced for twenty-some years; so I eat out three meals a day. So when I went to Denny's Coffee on Sunset Boulevard I put this thing in my pocket, and occasionally I set it at a specific frequency that I'm not going to mention - because I've been asked not to by the people who can ask other people not to do things. And pretty soon the waitress would start dropping coffee into the laps of patrons. The babies would start screaming. People within a 10 or 12 foot radius (that's a 20 foot room), would begin freaking out. I'd surreptitiously turn this thing to two Hz higher in frequency. Hahhhhhh (a simulated sigh of relief), you could hear the room calm down. If you had a pocket Radio Shack decibel meter, the cocktail level effect, the volume of the conversation will drop, noticeably, in decibels. Any of you wake up about 4am and can't get back to sleep until sunrise? Okay, you know why? We've been getting some very strong Russian transmissions. There is a particular anomaly that's the same as the Dawn Chorus - if you're familiar with atmospheric propagation research. It makes you particularly vulnerable at that time. Notice on this top curve, this 8Hz, the thing on which we want to latch if we're pure, spiritual and psychic - whatever that means. Four o'clock in the morning the bottom drops out and whatever is left is going to get you baby! Anyway, when Dr. Andrija Puharich was out here (in California) and Kathleen Joyce and I hosted him, we showed him the apparatus. This is probably the first he had heard of the psycho-physiological effects of the ELF fields; and I recall on your living room floor Kathleen, where he flexed his muscle near the coil, saw the spike readout on the oscilloscope, and realized that we finally had a detector in human captivity that could see micro-gauss levels. In other words his EMG, the few micro-volts of potential, firing through the nerve impulses, through the conductive layers of his skin, was creating enough of a magnetic field to read out on this thing. He got very excited, so we began showing him some of my research dating back for about the last eight years, and he decided that this was important enough to take back to the United Nations. So he contacted the chap who really runs the government. This man has survived about the last five administrations. He must remain nameless because he is in a very low-profile position. I can assure you he is no-one that you have ever heard about or read about in newspapers. They sent me an airline ticket and invited me to come back to the United Nations.

S U B L I M I N A L WA R FA R E Dr. Puharich and I were supposed to have about an hour. It ran into a two and a half hour briefing. Kurt Waldheim (Secretary General of the UN) was out of the country at the time, so our host and chap that we informed was the number two man in the United Nations, Rudi himself. Now, the experiments which caused all of the excitement. Any of you guys ever been in Ossining, New York and seen this Faraday Cage? (The home of Dr. Andrija Puharich, 87 Hawkins Ave, about 40 miles north of New York city). It was probably the most sophisticated cage in captivity. It had three layer of copper and three layers of soft iron. In other words this is H wave shielding, and copper shielding for the E wave Faraday Cage. The thing probably has as much attenuation as the one at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) the triple new metal cage. Okay, what we did here, we took this little box. Let's break it out here. This box has been disarmed. It is only mildly psychoactive. We did this at the request of the people who tell you to do things, for damn good reasons. We placed it outside the Faraday Cage. We sealed it up. Incidentally, the pickup, the magnetic pickup coil, is over here in this plastic garbage can filled with sand, to act as a microseismic damper - so that we weren't seeing quite as much vibration. We worked with several subjects and this little box was run by one of Dr. Puharich's secretaries, outside. She was told to turn the dial a little bit. Turn it on. Don't tell us what's happening. Turn it off. Turn the dial to another number. Turn it on. Turn it off. Total double blind. No one inside the cage knew what was going to happen or when it was going to happen. The subject's brain waves were going from one channel on a chart recorder, with zero cross-talk. The other chart, with a tape recorder, was going to a magnetic pickup; so we could compare the brain waves of the subjects with what was happening magnetically inside of this absolutely airtight, secure environment. The chart readings - the one at the top and bottom were 180 degree changes of the magnetic pickup. The centre portion of that chart was the human subject's brain waves. Over the range of 6Hz to 14Hz, with some subjects there was 100% entrainment, of frequency and phase. Get that! They locked on total! A little box the size of a package of cigarettes, when it uses the neural frequency principle can entrain the brain waves of a subject inside a totally shielded room, without his knowledge, consent etc. That's what this is all about. What we're saying here by entrainment - if you look at the shape of this wave, they all fall on the same time rate. Starting from half a second to four seconds after the box goes on, the brain waves, the neurons, are being totally driven by this little magnetic oscillator. It is down below 25 nano-Teslas at the source. A nano is one bil-
lionth of one Tesla. A Tesla is ten to the fourth gauss. Our government was playing at that time - God, I guess, with the multi-billion dollar Project Sanguine. Their purpose was to communicate with submarines under water, with ELF magnetic fields. The project was kicked out of Wisconsin, Michigan, and a few other places by people who had a certain nervousness about environmental disruption. They were trying to use power lines as antenna systems, surreptitiously. Back in March, the 26th and 27th this year (1978) a chap named Mike Theole, who is a journalist for the Eugene, Oregon Register Guard, decided to take his life into his hands and write about some of these things I have some copies of these and many, many other articles that appeared in the public press prior to the time of the total news blackout. There were a few articles for a few days. A day after this one there were the denials, by the FCC, the EPA, etc. "Mystery Radio Signals May Cause Illness". Hell! They were totally disrupting left and right (brain) hemisphere synchronisation! People who had never any tendency toward epilepsy, and had no hereditary tendencies in this direction - were going slightly unconscious. According to Marshall Van Ert, there was a two mile stretch of perfectly clear highway where there had been four deaths in about a week. People were simply driving their cars off the road or into a telephone pole, or into oncoming traffic. These are not apocryphal stories. These are a matter of public health records. It's in Los Angeles now at about 25 microgauss, and yes, it's spreading. Now the reason that Eugene, Oregon, is particularly toxic is because there is an 800 mile long antenna terminating up there, called the Bonneville Power Authority transmission line. I guess some of you engineers have heard of this thing. They are generating current and sending it down to California as direct current, 340,000 Volts. A DC line is an absolutely perfect, long wire antenna. In fact it would be highly attractive to people who couldn't launch Project Sanguine to use that as our own transmission system, at 2.2Hz. The next thing was that the power grid was identified as the source of the signal. Any high school kid can tell you that any long wire hanging out there in space can act as an antenna and pick up all the other signals that are being transmitted and re-radiate them. Okay? Even if our Navy is fooling around with long wires as a substitute for Sanguine antennas that had been ostensibly kicked out of several states. They traced the signal and it was strongest around power grids. So what else is new? These are some of the newspaper clippings that are in the archives. Now, they created such an outrage among everyone who

"Could they be having one frequency which they want to work with and the others are just to mislead us?" (asks a listener). Yes, (replies Dr. Beck), they have phantom frequencies. They are reconstructing heterodynes. Let me tell you why we're getting it and they are not: We are on a 60Hz power grid. They are on a 50Hz power grid. Get that? That's why they're immune. Every civilised industrial centre in the Western world - except one little segment still, near Chicago which is on direct current - and one which is on, I think 50Hz in Arizona, is a potential reradiating weapon of this psychotronic ELF field. In other words, why should they build antennas, re-radiating systems, when all of us have 110Volt systems in our homes; and we are also served with gas pipes, miles and miles of conductors, cold water pipes etc. "Is there a quick explanation of why 60 cycles will pick it up instead of 50?" (asks someone) Right. It's a harmonic! (replies Dr. Beck, and turns on his recording of the audio part of the Russian broadcast) at 5.340MegaHertz. The growl was because we have a voltage control, or rather the VFO on the receiver. That was at 5.340MegaHertz, and we were listening to - in other words, since you cannot hear the fundamental (the actual ELF wave) we have the local oscillator on the superheterodyne receiver running. It is a global problem. Incidentally, for the engineers again, the attenuation rate of this signal will go around the earth 4.5 times before it is down a half of its original value. Nikola Tesla was right. With some of these frequencies you can excite the earth ionosphere cavity, as though it is a huge bell, and ring it! In other words, the Russians have a thing here which cannot be stopped. It's practically not attenuable by anything that we are familiar with in physics. Okay, now a lot of this is resonance. What we don't know is how much of this is being originated domestically? How much of it is a second or third order harmonic effect? And what the real and what the virtual parameters are actually engendering? But meanwhile, from the standard textbook of physics, if we look at the E wave as being standard propagation wave form - as being parallel with this screen - the B wave, or H wave, the magnetic vector, is at right angles to this and has to accompany it. When you strip off the E wave by shielding, by natural attenuation, you still have that H wave left; and that is the one against which you cannot shield. It goes right through you, everything else, and can trip certain neurons in your head. This report is from a previously classified document done by Dr. Wartz and Dr. Erkins, of Garret Air Research for the CIA showing the "windows" that could be the stimulus for ESP, paranormal, Russian psychotronic research. Does that look familiar? If you move that down about 2Hz, you ain't got a psychic, you got an epileptic! Some of the propagation paths of the various nodes. The whole earth ionosphere cavity rings like a bell. At certain frequencies you can put some energy in here and under the same conditions get the

same, or even a little more out, somewhere else. Tesla was right. A little Soviet loveletter, U.S. Patent, Nov.20th 1973, Apparatus For the Treatment of Neuropsychic and Somatic Diseases with Heat, Light, Sound and Electromagnetic Radiation - a trial balloon to see how much we knew about what they were doing. It's Patent #3773049, and among all these words they hid their little gift, which you''ll come across when you read the whole patent. Apparently, certain neurons in the cerebral cortex act a frequency modulating discriminators. Any of you guys who have played around with radio know that you have a crystal set, and you hear several stations simultaneously, you get a garble. They are all overlapped. You can't sort them out; but the frequency modulation discriminator will latch onto the highest amplitude signal in the environment, override the others, and you'll hear that. If you are listening to Police Radio and a loud station comes in, overriding the other, you'll get one or the other. There's very little crosstalk. So what this thing does basically is that it puts out a little magnetic H wave field with a spike wave which we don't like. We like to work with a different wave form that I don't want to talk about. But this thing is apparently mildly psychoactive, but not nearly as psychoactive as the ones they used for the tests in Los Angeles, the ones at the United Nations, and Ossining, New York. Now, what I'd like to point out to you is that in this very narrow frequency spectrum corresponding to the Alpha-Theta border of brainwaves, you can change the excitation frequency by a fraction of a Hertz, and have an entirely different reaction. Now this was a big surprise. This is the thing that was not anticipated any more than the little germs were before Von Leeuwenhoek and Pasteur. One reason I feel that this effect has been missed by other researchers who were working with gross frequency inputs is that they were not defining their frequencies down to a hundredth of a Hertz. Now there's a tremendous amount of a supportive evidence in the neuro-physiological literature that certain molecules in our brain, with dielectric constants of over 140,000 and other inductive capacitor parameters, act as long chain, semi-liquid crystal dipoles that are extremely sensitive to coherent frequencies. Then came Dr. Wilhelm Reich, who discovered what he termed bions, and proclaimed them as the basic starting point of all life forms. Dr R. Rife, an American scientist, followed. He stated that cancer is the result of two main pleomorphic viruses, meaning that they can change into a variety of other dissimilar micro-organisms. His research was mainly done in the thirties and forties. A French-Canadian scientist, Gaston Naessens, recently found from lengthy research, that a basic particle which he named a somatid, was responsible for a whole multitude of diseases.

Finally, and recently, I came into possession of a book called "Hidden Killer" by Dr. Erik Enby, a Swedish M.D. published by Michael Sheehan of Sheehan Communications, Saratoga, CA in the USA. This publication gives very detailed accounts of the life and times of Pro. Dr. Guenther Enderlein (1872-1968) a scientist who in my opinion runs alongside the genius Béchamp. Enderlein, a German bacteriologist and zoologist through many years of brilliant research eventually found that a virus sized protein particle which he named a protit, through 14 phases of evolution, eventually became one of a number of blood parasites, collectively termed endobionts. These super small micro-organisms in their primitive stages are benign and biologically necessary, but when blood conditions change generally coupled up with changes in lifestyle, diet, environment, etc., they start to evolve up through many varying phases of pleomorphic advancement, finally becoming pathogens of one type or another. I had previously heard of Enderlein, and read some accounts of his research, and how he shocked the orthodox citadels of medicine with his revolutionary discoveries. But the aforementioned book by Dr. Enby, for me, brought Enderlein's work into very sharp focus. Not only did he discover Protits as the basic particle, but later went on to develop biological medications which are being used today with success by a few doctors world-wide. These remedies are based on the homeopathic principal of like curing like, and appear to be able to stop pathogenic micro-organisms from further development, thereby curing the disease at the very basic fundamental level. Enderlein stated that one of the most important factors in disease is the blood concentration of the Hydrogen ion, the Ph in other words. He claimed when the blood acid/alkaline ratio became upset, for example by immoderate intakes of animal protein, the basic Protits in their primitive stages are fueled for rapid development and begin their evolutionary life cycle to higher forms of microbes. Doctor Alan Cantwell, a contemporary author and scientific researcher from Los Angeles, outlined in his excellent book "The Cancer Microbe" how pleomorphic forms of lower life can change into higher forms of pathogens in the bloodstream, eventually becoming cancer microbes. In the book once again by Dr. Enby comes this statement by Prof. Enderlein, "....monomorphism, or the stability of microbes, must not be followed blindly, for the tyranny of the dogma cripples every natural biological viewpoint ......once free of this, a single,

extraordinary test will explode this 50 year-old house of cards." He was talking about the dogma of the T.B. bacillus of Koch and how conventional medicine views this parasite as the bacteriological causal factor, when in effect, according to Enderlein, T.B. is caused by evolved Protits which grow into the familiar rod shapes only under special conditions. This is usually when the biological inner environment has undergone severe change through lifestyle and dietary errors also often coupled up with environmental biohazards. So in view of what I have outlined let me now draw up what I believe to be an acceptable scenario of the AIDS enigma. But first I must include a statement from one of the most prestigious American scientists in the world. Dr. Peter Duesberg, a retrovirologist from the University of California, Berkeley has stated that he does not believe that the AIDS virus is the cause of AIDS! Rather that HIV is the result of the disease! I have been informed that Duesberg has received a copy of Béchamp's book which I sent. Hopefully he will very quickly realise the importance and ramifications of this monumental work of this genius of the last century, which outlines in detail that viruses and bacteria are not stable entities, and can change their forms and alter into totally different types when biological condition change substantially. But now I wish to get back to my statement re: the scenario of the beginning of the AIDS enigma. As Duesberg stated, HIV is not the cause of the disease, but rather the result of it. How? In my opinion, based upon the studying of the work of the aforementioned scientists, I now believe that HIV has been around for a great length of time, albeit in a much more primitive mode. I further believe that over the last few decades, maybe longer, the immune system of some of the people of this planet has become progressively damaged, more so perhaps in Western so called advanced civilisations. This has happened for a variety of reasons. Addictive drugs, greater incidences of sexual promiscuity, increased use of additives in food, electromagnetic pollution, immunisations etc. Immunisations on a mass scale deserves special mention as it would seem that they have a very definite link with the lowering of the immune systems of mankind world-wide. Take for example the two locations, Brazil and Central Africa. A few decades ago mass vaccinations were carried out in these countries, and we are talking here about the dispensation of millions of shots. Much has been written about vaccinations and immune malfunction. Artificial stimulation of the immune system produces quantity, not quality, antibodies. Natural immunity of the body is based upon the body's ability to provide a series of biological defenses to micro-organisms which are inhaled, ingested, or gain entry through abrasions on the skin.
Artificial vaccination, on the other hand, injects immense amounts of attenuated, live virus particles directly into the blood stream, thereby by-passing the bodily natural defense mechanisms. From the book "Vaccination & Immune Malfunction" written by Harold E. Buttram M.D., & John C. Hoffman comes this enlightening extraction. "An important investigation into the role of malnutrition and vaccination as causative factors in immune dysfunction has been in progress since the early 1970s by Archie Kalokerinos M.D., or New South Wales, Australia. One of the first published reports of large-scale immune mal function following the conventional childhood vaccines is to be found in the book "Every Second Child" In the case of the routine childhood vaccines, in contrast to nat urally inherited immunity, it is likely that a higher percentage of the total immune capacity becomes committed, perhaps something on the order of 30% to 70%. It should be emphasized that, once an immune body becomes committed to a specific antigen, it becomes inert and incapable of responding to other challenges. If the reserve immune capacity of children is being reduced by current vaccinations in this manner, what will be the conse quences?" Returning to our previous theme, the consequences of mass vaccination programs in the fifties and sixties, of the two countries, Brazil and Central Africa, cannot be estimated, especially when one takes into account the facts that such children are very much immuno "compromised" due to starvation and very poor living conditions, before vaccinations commenced. As we have discussed, when the immune system falls below a certain level, opportunistic diseases can become manifest. IS IT THEN MERE COINCIDENCE THAT THESE SAME TWO COUNTRIES HAVE THE HIGHEST INCIDENCE OF AIDS POSITIVE PEOPLE? Have all the factors come together to produce, pleomorphically, a clever virus, which as by an esoteric learning process become so intelligent that it will continue to evade all the resources that the scientists can bring to bear upon it? We already know that millions of early vaccines were contaminated by such basic viruses as SV40, in my opinion a precursor to AIDS, and recorded in any virology textbooks as causing tumours in hamsters, and able to transform cell-inducing human cells-in tissue culture. It is an oncogenic virus, and as one text book quotes ... "was a common contaminant of early batches of polio vaccine: as a result thousands of young children were accidentally inoculated with the virus" ("Notes on Medical Virology" by Morag C. Timbury, M.D., Ph.D. Let me state here and now that when learned Professors make statements that viruses, such as SV40, a simian variety, (monkey) cannot jump species to become human dangerous invaders, they should know better. If they were enlightened to the works of some of the scientists I have mentioned in this article, they would soon

THE AIDS ENIGMA realise that pleomorphistic micro-organisms are indeed a real phenomenon. When mainstream research scientists become aware that pleomorphistic basic protein particles exist in the bloodstreams of all living beings, just awaiting to rear their ugly and dangerous heads when the immune systems become compromised, as pathogenic microbes, the whole house of bacteriological and virological 'pack of cards' falls to the ground in a totally embarrassing manner! So is it any wonder that little by little, when the body is subjected to all the "insults" we have just mentioned, coupled up with all the special problems of Third World countries, ie starvation, malnutrition, poor living standards, hygiene etc., plus immoderate intakes of animal protein in Western affluent societies, which shifts the acid/alkaline balance of the blood, that the immune response is gradually lowered to dangerous levels. Another factor which contributes to a compromised immune system, is a lack of ascorbate circulating within the body. Enough Vitamin C must be ingested on a daily basis to cope with all the "insults" which surround us living on this polluted planet. Most unenlightened people would test close to zero almost for serum amounts of Vit C. This vital spark of life is very necessary for the correct functioning of the health of the human being. It primes the immune system, among at least 200 other metabolic functions. But sufficient quantities have to be ingested on a daily basis. In my considered opinion, the disease AIDS is the bottom line result of a savage attack upon the immune systems of mankind by factors relating to lifestyle, diet, mass vaccination programs and the increasing pollution levels of this planet. The AIDS virus then, is the result of an impaired immune system, resulting from a multitude of causal factors which have come into being gradually since the days of the industrial revolution. It is not the cause. It is the result. No wonder the scientists engaged in AIDS research are finding it difficult to come to terms with this enigma. It seems that as Professor Peter Duesberg states, they have got it all wrong! He points out that in his opinion HIV is not in enough concentration T-Cell wise to be the single causal factor! Upon this point I think it is appropriate, indeed necessary, to mention a Prof. Dr. Jakob Segal, an AIDS researcher from Germany. I do not wish to take out of context material from Dr. Segal's impending paper on a new role model for the AIDS disease, but I think for any AIDS researchers who read this article, it may be important. In Prof. Segal's summary of the soon to be published full work on AIDS, titles "Aids-Cell Physiology, Pathology and Therapy" I found it very interesting that he relates that in 1986, 29 out of 36 chimpanzees infected with HIV, while developing antibodies did
not go on to show clinical signs of the disease, although 7 years have now elapsed. Also that HIV infected chimpanzees usually after becoming seropositive later reverted to seronegative. Further, only the T4 cells in the animals were invaded, not the macrophages, which as Segal points out, appears to indicate that the classical symptoms of AIDS in humans are due to the infection of the macrophages, rather than to the destruction of the T4 cells. Other AIDS researchers support Segal's findings at this time. One of those mentioned is Falk, 1989, who stated that: "......imme diate damage to the organs is caused by the macrophages direct ly, and not over the roundabout route via the immune system". Which if proved correct raises the very important question - is the term AIDS now fully supportable as an appropriate description of this disease? If Segal is correct with his theoretical model, then a whole new concept at the research level will have to be considered. Which, incidentally, would leave retrovirologists such as Dr. Robert Gallo, et al., completely out on a limb! My notation of the work of Prof. Segal is included because I think it has a bearing upon my articles content and theme, insofar as, those people who are not considered at risk from HIV and rarely develop the symptoms have to be balanced by those who are very much at risk. The high risk groups all have severely depressed immune functions before they get diagnosed as AIDS victims. Whereas the other groups not considered at risk, in most cases, perhaps have immune competence considered to be well above the danger line. In my opinion it is not merely enough for classical AIDS researchers to assume that exposure to HIV between an infected person and a low risk person with a fully primed immune system constitutes a potentially dangerous situation for the uninfected person. No one yet really knows if people in low risk groups, when exposed to HIV and who may become seropositive may later revert to seronegative, without realising they had even been infected. As Prof. Segal points out, macrophages instead of being thought of as merely passive receptors of HIV, may instead turn out to be the primary foci of infection. He states "Macrophages have rela tively few CD4 receptors and therefore infection spreads more slowly if the multiplication of HIV takes place in the macrophages and not in the T4 cells. So we see that an incubation period of sev eral weeks fully corresponds with what we know about the condi tions of reproduction of HIV, ie., no special conditions seem to be required". In my own theoretical model, in the context of my article, I find it very significant that chimpanzees for example, do not appear to develop HIV symptoms after becoming seropositive, by deliberate

THE AIDS ENIGMA infection. Indeed they generally become seronegative after a while. But then imagine that chimps were subjected to exactly the same immune degrading factors that man is, ie drugs, pollutants, etc. Would the chimp then, through a depressed immune response, react to HIV in a different manner? It is also known that animals reared in zoos all their lives start to develop chronic diseases like cancer for example. With a changed environment, diet, habitat etc, stresses arise which eventually start to degrade the animals immune response. Although some animals appear to be able to adapt better than others. Does a major immunological factor determine why some animals are not prone to developing AIDS, when some of them become seropositive, while humans do? If the difference is, as Prof. Segal states due to primary macrophage focal infection, rather than primary T cell infection, then classical research lines will have to be severely reappraised. Perhaps T-Cells in the chimp are only temporarily subdued, not destroyed, later able to regenerate. Maybe in the human, although T-Cell counts indicate that a severe reduction takes place in full blown AIDS, it is a possibility that, as Segal points out, T-Cell function is able to regenerate if macrophage infiltration can be halted in time. A big if! Infection of organs by HIV through macrophage transportation, again as Segal outlined, finally results in thymus capability destruction with obviously in time, the complete cessation of production of the vital frontline "killer cells". T-Cell infection then becomes the way, and would provide no further part in the disease progress. As is well known macrophages are present in glands, organs, tissues, so HIV infected macrophages would be a much more formidable and difficult problem to solve. Segal's model seems to me to be a very logical way of looking at the AIDS enigma. Certainly it may, if proven to be correct, help to unravel the so called mysteries of this disease. I believe these 'mysteries' are tied in with a collective world wide reduction of mankind's immune competence. Time will hopefully tell. If, as I believe, immune responses are gradually falling worldwide, maybe even genetically incorporated into the DNA of babies on an increasing scale, then indeed he overall picture does look very bleak. (Increasing incidences of Cot Deaths may well be one of the first manifestations). For AIDS victims, it is not an encouraging picture, but there seems to be some hope on the horizon. Dr. Enby, who was mentioned earlier, is claiming excellent results with AIDS patients utilising the biologically oriented medications of Prof. Enderlein. He states in the book "Hidden Killers", that AIDS patients have improved dramatically. Dr. Ian Brighthope in Melbourne is claiming good results with-
out recourse to toxic drugs. Bruno Haefli, a brilliant scientist from Switzerland, a disciple of Enderleins, through nearly forty years of research has developed a blood test which reliably diagnoses precancerous conditions, and presumably he should be able to help AIDS patients. Apparently quite a few scientists world-wide using Enderlein's biological medications are getting excellent results with all types of disease. It's not surprising that medicine has gone down the wrong road, as a few well known scientists are now saying, because orthodox medicine has always been based upon symptomatic paradigms, and is totally drug and money related. Attempting to create a really effective vaccine which may be the final solution, may well turn out to be the final disaster! If HIV should turn out to be the symptom and result of severely depressed immune systems, then of course all the research money now being spent is totally useless. As HIV "picks up speed" within its mutating cycle it will present bigger and bigger problems, both to researchers and the unhappy victims. If on the other hand, as Prof. Segal has outlined, the dynamic balance which exists between the infected T4 cells and the infected macrophages can be unbalanced in some way, a cure may be possible without the recourse to highly toxic expensive drugs. I believe powerful magnetic fields could have such an unbalancing effect. So perhaps could sound tone energy, at present being experimented with in the USA by ELFworks, a company dedicated to excellence in the field of bio-electronics. Certainly it would be worth trying if Prof. Segal's AIDS model turns out to be accurate. Stuart Ledbetter: This morning, a subject we think you'll find pretty fascinating. A seasoned medical treatment that our guest will tell you really works. And yet, one that most of the medical estab lishment in this country probably knows little about. It is called oxy gen therapies. And with us this morning is the author of a first-of itskind book on the subject, Ed McCabe. Our subject for this morning is rather unconventional for this pro gram. We're going to be talking about a book which describes a med ical treatment which, I'll admit right off the top, I knew virtually nothing about until I began reading the literature provided by Ed McCabe who is an author and investigative journalist who, for the past couple of years, has been touring the country, and the world, talking about this book and this treatment, oxygen therapies. Ed McCabe: Yes, I have been to Australia and New Zealand, at their invitation and expense. I do a lot of health shows out on the west coast as well, Los Angeles, San Fransico, Mexico, Chicago, Miami, New York, Boston etc. SL: How many public appearances lately? EM: Last time I counted it up, I've appeared on over 500 radio and TV stations and speaking platforms at different health expos, doctor's meetings, and so forth. SL: The subject of your book is pretty straight forward. It's called "Oxygen Therapies, A New Way of Approaching Disease." I gather, Ed, that it's just that simple. Tell me, give me an overview, what does it mean? EM: If someone is sick, that means in most cases their body has become full of pollution to the point where bacteria or viruses or maybe cancer cells have started growing out of control. The bacteria, the viruses, the cancer cells, the fungus, the pathogens, almost all these microbes are anaerobic. Anaerobic is the scientific term that means "they can't live in oxygen." So I discovered over a hundred years worth of research, actual medical history, going back documenting doctors that were using different oxygen therapies and products. They found if they put oxygen into a sick person's body, they got well. Or the disease became extremely manageable. The simplicity of that has just gone over the heads of just about everyone in our rush toward finding a drug to cure disease. So I've been trying to resurrect, and also bring to the public's attention, the current research that is going on right now. SL: Tell us a little about your background so we can get a bit of insight into you, then we can get into the book and the treatment. EM: Sure. I have a degree in educational media from the University of Massachusetts. I worked in the health food industry back in the late '60s and kept up my studying and my looking into better ways to do things. I saw the suffering around us and I said "There must be a better way. There's got to be an answer." So, I've been digging and digging for over 20 years. All my research kept

OXYGEN THERAPIES - Interview with Ed McCabe coming back to the fact that almost everything that worked for health, worked because somehow it raised the oxygen level of the body. Again, as I said in the beginning, if the bacteria and viruses and cancer cells causing the disease can't live in oxygen and you surround them with oxygen, what's going to happen to them? And that's whole point of oxygen therapies. So when I tried it, and my friends tried it, and our illnesses went away, and I looked at the rapid spread of disease through our society, I decided the world needs to be told about this amazingly simple subject immediately and I started my work of writing and lecturing. SL: I gather oxygen therapies are widely used, and are widely known in most parts of the world? EM: Yes, especially in Europe. In Germany there are thousands of physicians that have been using, for example, medical ozone therapy. No, ozone is not smog. What we're speaking about is medical grade ozone, which is a higher form of oxygen. They have safely used this successfully for over fifty years on humans. But there are companies in this country trying to get human test approval .. and yet they can't get FDA human testing approval even though it is extremely effective, and no one has ever been hurt by using it, as long as the protocols were followed. SL: I must confess that I was rather cynical because of the claim that this is essentially a cure-all. Oxygen thera pies... hydrogen peroxide, magnesium oxides, stabilized oxygen, ozone therapy cures .. give me the range of diseases. EM: Well, instead of taking my word for it, I'll read you a quote. This is from the Sixth World Ozone Conference. These are international MD.. These are MDs from all over the world who came together in 1983 in Washington. They said, "Ozone removes viruses and bacteria from blood, human and stored. It has successfully been used on AIDS, herpes, hepatitis, mononucleosis, cirrhosis of the liver, gangrene, cardiovascular disease, arteriosclerosis, high cholesterol, cancerous tumors, lymphomas, leukemias, highly effective on rheumatoid and other arthritis, improves mental sclerosis, ameliorates alzheimer disease, senility, and parkinsons, effective on proctitis, colitis, prostate, candidiasis, trichomoniasis, and cystitis. Externally, ozone is effective in treating acne, burns, leg ulcers, open sores and wounds, eczema, and fungus." These are internationally respected doctors. They printed this in 1983. Taking just one of the things they said, we can totally clean up the blood bank supply. So, when my relative went to the hospital and had an operation, she came home with hepatitis from the contaminated blood. How many people get AIDS that way? I've met people that were HIV infected that way. Totally unnecessary! We could totally clean up the blood supply by bubbling ozone through it. Its that simple and they still don't adopt it.
SL: I gather that ... listening to you rattle off that laundry list of serious disease ... why, if it works, do we still have those diseases? EM: That's the big question. When I found these things out I made a bunch of phone calls to different news organizations around the country and said "hey, I hear you guys are looking for the answer for AIDS. Well, I know of people living in Germany that have been getting rid of AIDS." I have a doctor - I printed six of the case histories in my book - who says he's gotten rid of AIDS in his patients. Most recently, I was out in San Francisco where I videotaped, four people with AIDS out of 160 that have been treating themselves with ozone. They were faced with the prospect of death because their doctors didn't have anything except AZT and its cousins. These fellows had unearthed the German ozone research and said, "Hey, Doc, treat me with it." The doctor said, "I can't. I'll lose my license. I'll lose my insurance." So they said, what can we do? Finally, they decided to treat themselves. And that's what they did. I went out and videotaped four of them. And I've got four of the fellows saying that they would have been dead if it wasn't for ozone therapy. As of right now, they would have been long gone, but here they are alive. Within 3-6 weeks their T-cells stabilized and then doubled later on. The fourth guy - he's now been two years into the program - he is completely free of the virus. He's been tested and retested. He keeps coming up what they call "PCR negative". They can find no trace of the virus. Yet, you don't see it. You don't see it on the news. I've talked to doctors that have tried to promote this at some national and international meetings and their efforts just didn't work. Everywhere it's drugs, drugs, drugs. That's not what we're talking about at all. We're talking about a gas that is deadly to disease-causing microorganisms, yet is totally harmless to human cells. SL: The gas, ozone, O3? EM: O3, the higher form of oxygen. Also called allotropic oxygen, activated oxygen, or triatomic oxygen. SL: That's quite a story that you tell, particularly about people that you met. When you say that this has been around for a long time and yet it is ignored, it is ignored by whom? I mean surely, we have doctors in this country who care about curing disease and helping people. EM: Yes, they do. I haven't met any doctors yet who didn't want to help their patients. The trouble is most doctors spend all day treating patients. They don't have time to go out and find these things. I, on the other hand, don't treat patients. I'm a journalist. I went out and interviewed thousands of patients, hundreds of doctors and visited scores of clinics in the United States, Mexico,

OXYGEN THERAPIES - Interview with Ed McCabe Australia, New Zealand, and I just have all these success stories. Over and over and over, they just keep piling up. I'm trying to tell people. There is a group of over 400 doctors in the United States that have banded together to form an organisation to try to advance this within the American medical system. It has been proven effective, but how can you just totally ignore it. It seems that their organisation, IBOM, is growing very quickly. But the problem is if the doctor has never heard of oxygen therapy, he doesn't understand what they're talking about so he just kind of ignores it, he goes away because they're not taught anything about any oxidative modalities when they are in medical school. So it's not even in their vocabularly. They don't understand the whole concept. They are still taught that you should take a drug to poison disease, rather than take oxygen and strengthen the body so it throws off the disease. SL: Again, I apologize for being cyni cal, but why would American doctors be so willing, when they are surrounded by other western countries, in Europe as you point out, have had some success with this treatment ... Why would they allow themselves to be so out of date? EM: They simply haven't heard of it ... which is why I wrote the book, why I lecture, why I go around. They simply haven't heard of it. So they don't know there is an answer to most of the diseases that face our society today. They simply don't know it. And when you read this laundry list of diseases like I just did, according to the doctors who actually treated all these diseases successfully, when I talked to veterinarians .. they have been using it for over 30 years in their practices on animals ... so it's not a belief factor, it's just a real scientific fact. It's just amazing to me. It's still amazing to me that it hasn't caught on. I tried calling some AIDS hotlines, these people who answered the phone have AIDS themselves ... It's unbelievable ... I say I know people who don't have AIDS anymore, I tell them this but they still have closed minds. Of course we are trying. But over time people get entrenched. They get used to doing things a certain way. They build their empires. Their pride gets in the way. Their medical and administrative staffs think a certain way. And the people that are appointed to the government posts that oversee all this, they are taught a certain way. Medical schools are funded by the corporations so that the curriculum goes a certain way. They train people that fill the corporate jobs, to not think in this way. It's kind of like a "closed shop" thing ... Nothing new comes in. I've got videotape of people who used it ... I just came back from Miami. I interviewed 15 people in different cities who stated they were cured of cancer by using one of the oxygen therapies. SL: What kind of cancer? EM: Amazingly enough, one of them had pancreatic cancer. A
woman had breast cancer. A man had prostrate cancer. Someone else had colon cancer. Dr. Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize twice for stating that the cause of cancer is a normal cell denied 60% of its oxygen requirements. This happens when too much pollution collects over the years in the body. This causes the cell to start fermenting body sugar instead of "breathing" oxygen to get its ATP energy. To do this it turns into cancer. He won the Nobel Prize for that. Twice. Nominated for a third. I asked a big cancer specialist two days ago if he had ever heard of Dr. Warburg, and he said no. And this specialist's title was "Head of Fermentation Process Laboratories." SL: Ed McCabe is our guest. The book is Oxygen Therapies, a New Way of Approaching Disease. What's involved, and tell me about the cost and so forth. EM: Okay. Although some of the people are taking some of these oxygen therapies as home remedies, they are available over the counter in many health food stores [in the USA]. The real serious diseases should be handled by a competent health care professional, hopefully one trained in these oxidative modalities. SL: I gather you can't get ozone ... it is not available here. EM: It is a funny legal, but mostly political, situation here. the FDA, because they have not approved human testing, although there has been a company trying to get human testing for four years, every year they change the people reviewing the case, send them back to square one and say do another study, do another study. But it's been used on humans for 50 years in Germany without a hitch at all! I don't know why they keep dragging their feet and not let them do harmless human testing. SL: What companies are asking for human testing? EM: Medizone out of New York. They have been trying to get their protocols accepted.. SL: Watch that stock price. EM: There is also a Dr. Bernard Poiesz, for example, Syracuse University research hospital. He has done 15 replications of his study using ozone to kill the HIV virus. He has taken blood components infected with the HIV virus, interfaced it with ozone and totally killed the virus, leaving the regular blood components alone. The human blood is fine. He tried to write this up and get it published. He had it under submission three years through the Journal of The American Society of Hematology. And they didn't

OXYGEN THERAPIES - Interview with Ed McCabe print it. They kept sending it back for revisions. Finally, on October 1st, 1991 they published it. How many have died in all these years from AIDS who could be healthy now if we had been applying these oxygen therapies? There are doctors trying to get heard, but the weight of the people selling competing products is powerful and the weight of the people who don't know anything about it, they just scratch their heads and go "how can this be, how can this be so effective and so simple? It can't be true." They can't see the forest through the trees, that's the problem. That's what we're stuck with. SL: What's involved? In treating with medical ozone, one would essentially ... It would almost be like dialysis, the blood would be removed from the body and mixed with the ozone. EM: They've done that on hundreds of thousands of people in Europe for 50 years. The AIDS people in San Francisco, the cancer people in Florida, they use another method, rectal insufflation. They put a measured amount of the pure medical grade ozone//oxygen gas into the empty colonic cavity and then it's absorbed directly into the bloodstream through the walls of the colon. That's the way they decided to do it without fooling around with needles or IV infusions or any of that stuff. It's the simplest, safest method they found. They treat themselves with that. They formed a cooperative. They bought a ozone machine. They have to get medical grade oxygen to put into it. It turns the medical grade oxygen into medical ozone. They put that into a measuring flask or bag hung inverted on the wall. Through the process of gravity feeding it runs down ... they lay on a table and it flows into the colon. Then it just goes into the bloodstream. The procedure takes probably 5 minutes at most. They say they have to do this, in the case of AIDS or cancer, they have to do it once a day every day without fail for a minimum of 21 days in a row. Every day raising the oxygen level, raising the oxygen level of the body until all the inner tissues become saturated. At some point, how can the AIDS virus hide anywhere if the body is full of this active oxygen seeking out any pathogen in the body to kill it. So, to begin, it takes 21 or 30 days. After 21 or 30 days they switch to every other day for a month. And the following months it is every third day. And every six months they repeat the procedure if needed, they start all over again. They just keep going right back. It is amazing because the doctors always advocate that people using oxygen therapies should change their diet, their lifestyles, get rid of stress, eat better food, that sort of thing, stay away from alcohol and chemicals. Especially during the oxygen therapies it is often advocated that patients get regular colonics to lessen the common temporary cleansing reactions like tiredness, fever, swelling, rashes, and the like which may show up for a day or two
as the dead pathogens are flushed out. It was also advocated, by a doctor I interviewed, to take wheat sprout SOD to get the necessary glutathione peroxidase antioxidants which help the body to uptake all this oxygen while protecting and building the cell walls. But these people with AIDS out in San Francisco, without doing anything at all except the ozone, they don't have healthy lifestyles or supplementation or other treatments at all, they are getting their T-Cell counts to come back up or stabilize. They gain weight. They've gone back to work. They're happy, they don't get any of the secondary infections. Imagine the results possible if they did everything right. Now there are even more effective ways of doing it in shorter amounts of time. The problem is how to get the ozone to where the virus hides in the central nervous system. This problem was recently overcome independently by several U.S. ozone physicians who discovered the use of either hyperbaric chambers or DMSO after infusion. This is an amazing breakthrough in medical history. Yet we're still trying to get the word out, but it falls on deaf ears because I'm not a university. I'm not a huge international corporation. Connie Chung told David Letterman on TV one night, "You know Dave, sometimes we're at the mercy of the corporations and governments for our news. They just hand it to us." And if you're not part of the inner circle, they don't listen to you. So I've gone out as a journalist and recorded, documented, videotaped all these doctors, all these patients and their stories. The truth speaks for itself. SL: Wow. Has this been uniformly successful? Have there been cases that you know of where this treatment has failed? EM: The only failures we see are people who are antioxidant deficient, or don't follow the protocols, or who come to it too late. Oxygen works when there is something left to repair. It can't build an organ. If the organ has been eaten away, there is nothing it can do. Even in those patients, however, it often takes away the pain. When someone is on their death bed and they start getting oxygen into the nerves, the pain often goes away from their disease and they pass peacefully instead of clutching the bedsheets, they peacefully expire. It's a Godsend even at the end, if they come too late. SL: There's no harmful effects here? Is there an over saturation point for example? EM: Oh, if you don't follow the protocols exactly. Yeah. If you drink too much water you can drown. It's the same thing. If you don't follow the protocol, you're in trouble. But the protocols have been established and used for over 50 years. So it's not like people are guessing as to what to do. The Germans and certain Americans are masters at it. They have been doing it for 50 years on humans. He learned about it when he was the doctor for the prisoners of war on Ellis Island in WWII, and a German chemist was kept there as an FBI prisoner who got sick. He said, "Hey, Doc,why don't you treat me with some ozone?" That's how he found out about the ozone. A Swiss doctor retired in California, used ozone for 40 years. SL: How about other tropical diseases, the external applications. EM: Quoting again, the ozone is "effective in treating acne, burns, leg ulcers, open sores and wounds, eczema and fungus." I know of one case where the woman had an open bleeding ulcer on her leg. It was an open sore. it was open like that for 10 years. She and her doctors had tried everything. She couldn't get it to close. What they did was to put a bag around the leg, picture putting a baggie around the leg, like a balloon, then putting ozone into the bag so that the ozone covered and soaked into the leg. By doing that for about a week and a half, the skin ulcer had closed up within days and then healed over and was turning into pink skin in about three weeks. It's a treatment unknown in this country. SL: This case was where and when? EM: This was in someone's home, again, in the ozone underground unfortunately. Someone having to treat themselves in south Florida. South Florida has been a hotbed of the ozone activity because many doctors down there were trying it and getting success and telling all the other doctors. So Florida, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York, the dense population centers naturally seem to be the strongholds of the ozone underground in the U.S. right now. This must be integrated into the mainstream by more orthodox people. Ozone must leave the back rooms. The unnecessary suffering can end. SL: So private doctors who were curious themselves, thinking they might be onto something here, attempt the procedure on them selves or a family member or something, hush hush, it worked, they tell their friends, other doctors, and still the treatment goes nowhere? EM: Unlike in Europe, where doctors are trusted to do the doctoring themselves, we have a political problem. There's a doctor in Florida, a pediatrician who has used ozone on over ten thousand children. He got rid of, or controlled the childhood diseases. He'd been using it on children for over 40 years when he retired. He was using it in a major hospital in Florida. The hospital administrators came by one day and asked him to stop using it. It was working fine. No one ever was hurt. They said "nobody else uses it, so we don't want to have a lawsuit. Stop doing it." The federal and state medical authorities are currently seizing and destroying ozone machines. The legal conventions here assume that a physician can't use a treatment that the other doctors around him aren't using. They come in and arrest him and try to strip him of his license. There are many cases pending right now, sincere doctors trying to help their patients by using harmless nat-
ural type remedies. They're being attacked, losing their insurance privileges, they won't let them use ozone. I interview cases where they use SWAT teams to break down the doctor's office door and to to his home and break down that door too. They push everyone, mothers and grandmothers, against the wall at gunpoint, and take all the patient records, the ozone machine machines, and the computers and backups. The doctors never get them back. Certain newspapers report this, but leave out the indignities. In their stories they ignore stacks of medical evidence sent to them - including the personal testimony of ex-patients who show up in their editorial offices to correct the biased reporting. They write "Experts say ozone is worthless." "Experts" with absolutely no training or experience with medical ozone. But the public doesn't know that. We are witnessing the oxygen wars. SL: What part do all the big pharmaceutical companies play in all of this? We hear more and more about the ... particularly in this part of the country where we have a par ticularly vocal congressman who essentially was elected in part on the platform that the drug companies control the medical establishment and are very interested in protecting their highly profitable conventional phar maceuticals. EM: If this gets out, it will hurt the drug business, but employ more people to give the treatments and build the machines. A shifting of resources. It is so effective that most of the drugs that are sold will not be needed. They won't need to be sold. There is a strong economic disincentive for the pharmaceutical companies to get behind this. I even know of people that ... probably 10 or 15 years ago now, went to one of the drug companies and said, "hey, this stuff is great, it works fine. They said, frankly the patents have all expired on these things. They have been patented in the twenties, thirties and the forties, we can't patent it, we're a commercial operation, sorry, we're not interested. It's a very sad state. We need to have everyone open their hearts and help people because the evidence is uncontestable that this stuff works. I've seen it with my own eyes. I've got videotape. I can introduce anybody who is a competent researcher to doctors that use it. I can show them. SL: We'll do what we can in that regard. The air is electric, charged with the screams that echo from behind the off-white security doors. As the attendants guide you to the lift, your feet dragging smoothly across the waxed linoleum floor, a searing pain fills your head to remind you of the high voltage shock that was pumped through your brain only minutes before. Your mind starts to spin as your body starts to fall. You grab hopelessly at the air, but there is not a single sharp surface to cling on to, the smooth walls just seem to go on forever. The d-lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), delivered direct from the Sandoz Pharmaceutical Company in Switzerland, is starting to worm it’s way through every crevasse in your mind and body. Slowly, menacingly, you get the feeling that this trip to the basement laboratory may be the one that finally sends you on the oneway trip to oblivion. The intensive electroshock treatment has shattered not only your mind, but also your will to fight. After wearing a football helmet around the sleep room for the last 22 hours, with only that single monotonous phrase that you don’t even remember saying playing endlessly, over and over again, tearing at your mind, you don’t care any more anyway. Maybe going crazy would free you, after all, what could be worse than what you’ve already been through. The doctor keeps telling you it’s the only way to get better. If only you could believe him. The only thing you believe in now is pain. You can’t feel anything else. Not hope, not love, nothing. Only pain. This was to become a regular day for patients at the Allan Memorial Institute in Montreal, Canada, during the CIA funded search to find a technique for breaking, reprogramming, and ultimately, controlling the human mind. Another day of torturing innocent victims in an attempt to find, and perfect, a reliable brainwashing technique.
THE SUFFERING BEGINS The grim story began on July 20, 1950, when the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Roscoe Hillenkoetter, wrote an open cheque for Project ‘Bluebird’, the Agency’s first full-scale behaviour control programme. The operation’s first task, to interrogate four Japanese workers under the employ of U.S. Army Intelligence, who were suspected of having links to the Russians. None would admit to being double agents, so they were injected with alternating does of sodium amytal and benzedrine, downers, followed by uppers, just to see if it would help them to change their minds. After several episodes of experimentation with drugs to try and “loosen” the minds of North Korean prisoners of war, it was decided that the addition of electro-shock treatment might make the interrogation process more successful . The Agency’s Office of Technical Services Staff (TSS) were chosen to conduct further

TSS were responsible for producing the “James Bond” issue equipment, such as exploding coins, fountain pens that could fire bullets, and undetectable poisons. This new phase of mind control research would be placed under TSS control because it was decided they would have no reservations about testing radical new ideas on unsuspecting subjects. The new CIA director Allen Dulles specifically requested that any doctors or scientists who were to be be recruited for the operation must be “completely cooperative in any phase of our programme regardless of how revolutionary it may be.” The Project was renamed Operation Artichoke and another step was taken into darkness. Within a short space of time Dulles' team included Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, the head of TSS, who scoured the jungles of Latin America for new poisons, and Dr. Ewen Cameron, who would conduct inhumane research on patients on behalf of the CIA. Worried about committing such radical research on American soil, Allen Dulles decided that it would be safest if Dr Cameron was to conduct the experiments at his hospital in Montreal, Canada, on unsuspecting patients. That way, if the experiments ever became the focus of public attention, they would not be traced back to the CIA. The Allan Memorial Institute had become highly respected under the leadership of Doctor Cameron. His support staff were becoming well renowned for their own individual work, much of which was quite revolutionary, but none were quite so radical with their techniques as Dr Cameron. He treated patients with large doses of drugs, repeated courses of electroshock, sensory de-pravation, long periods without sleep, isolation, and was working on a process he called ‘psychic driving’, which involved repeatedly playing back selected words to a patient in order to break apart their psyche and allow total access to the subconscious. On April 3rd 1953 Operation Artichoke became MKUltra. The ‘MK’ prefix denoted TSS’s command over the operation. The Agency’s chemical-biological warfare project, MKDelta , was incorporated under the new banner, and a revised brief was issued. The order was ‘“To investigate how it was possible to modify an individuals behaviour by covert means.” The aim of the programme was to find out how the North Koreans had been able to brainwash American POW’s and turn them into pro-communist, anti-American, rabble rousers. Not only had the enemy managed to corrupt their minds, but they in turn were trying to infect their fellow Americans with the same virtues that had been so forcefully implanted into their subconscious. Soon the CIA was itself committing acts every bit as shocking as those they claimed to detest.
Their own experiments had confirmed that “brainwashing” was a very powerful intelligence weapon indeed. Dr. James Monroe, the former head of the US Air force’s Korean POW study group, was hired to set up a research foundation to provide a cover for the clandestine work, and so the ‘Society for the Investigation of Human Ecology’ was born. The society would act as a safety barrier between the agency and the public, a body with an acceptable front, that could launder and distribute money, and leave no trace. The initial funding to set up the Allan Memorial Institute was supplied by the Rockefeller Foundation in 1934. They would later fund secret CIA mind-control research projects via the Human Ecology Society. Meanwhile Dr. Cameron hired help in the form of Leonard Rubenstein, an Englishman with no medical qualifications, who was to run a research and development behavioural laboratory, where Dr. Cameron would further his work on psychic driving. Also hired to help with the work was Jan Zielinski, a Polish born engineer who also lacked any previous medical experience. Although the staff of the Institute failed to understand why these men had been hired to deal with patients who were often deeply disturbed, Dr. Cameron made it clear that they were at the hospital to stay. He no longer required clearance from anybody, and would soon have the ‘sleep room’, or “zombie room”, as some nurses called it, running at full swing. Patients were made to wear football helmets fitted with internal speakers, forcing them to listen to endlessly repeating tape loops, phrases edited from their taped consultations with Dr. Cameron. This treatment lasted for periods of up to 22 hours a day, six or seven days a week, over a period of two months, Thoughts, related in confessions from their darkest moments, spoken in their own voice, were drilled into their brains, until their minds literally shattered. Intensive electroshock treatments accompanied the ‘depatterning’, or, ‘psychic driving’, as did sensory depravation, isolation, and injections of psychoactive drugs.
Soon the CIA was itself committing acts every bit as shocking as those they claimed to detest. Their own experiments had confirmed that “brainwashing” was a very powerful intelligence weapon indeed.

DR. DECEPTION Earlier in his career, at the age of only twenty-eight , Dr. Cameron had come to have a free hand to probe the minds of unsuspecting patients while working at Manitoba’s Brandon Mental Hospital. His personal manifesto came straight from the principles laid out at the first ‘Conference of Race Betterment’, held in 1914 at Battle Creek, Michigan. “In the past man had been first, in the future the system must be first.” No doubt, the Nazis that he claimed to so strongly disapprove of, would have been proud of him.

CIA MIND CONTROL RESEARCH Dr. Cameron’s ideology was in agreement with the philosophy of the American Professor, Henry H. Goddard, who believed that all who were “born” criminals could be identified by certain physical characteristics and that the solution to controlling them was to “sterilize them, allow them to perform only lowly jobs, confine them to ghettos, discourage them from marrying outside their race, and create a pure, American, superior intelligence to control them.” Dr. Cameron began experimenting with a bizarre range of treatments. Drugs, electroshock, psychosurgery (or lobotomy as it is more widely known), gas, and a motor driven chair that rotated a patient at high speed until they fell unconscious, were all part of his cruel repertoire. Now he was to be paid by the CIA to further his bizarre research. Dr Cameron’s reputation was beyond question to most of his co-workers in the medical profession. He was President of the American Psychiatric Association, was soon to be President of t h e Canadian Psychiatric Association, and would become the first President of the World Association of Psychiatrists. He regularly submitted articles and research papers to scientific journals, which were readily accepted. Even when his staff could not see the purpose of his actions, it was assumed that he was dealing with matters that they did not fully comprehend. If only they had known how true that was. There were some doctors who found his research techniques unreasonable, and said so. Dr Donald O. Hebb, Chairman of the Psychology Department at McGill University stated that Dr. Cameron’s methods were ethically deplorable, and verged on “the irresponsible - criminally stupid.” Harsh words from a man who was himself working for both the CIA and Canadian Defense Department on sensory deprivation. Another respected psychiatrist noted that Cameron “was not possessed of the necessary sense of humanity to be a good doctor.” Yet not only did his work continue, it became even more radical. Between 1944 and 1960 over 100,000 lobotomies were performed in the United States and around the same number in Europe. Tens of thousands were performed in the Pacific basin, mostly in India and Japan. In 1948, Dr. Walter Freeman of The University of Virginia, described lobotomy as “mercy killing of the psyche”, while demonstrating his technique to a group of students. It is hard to comprehend where “mercy” fits in to the picture. Dr. Cameron promoted the use of psychosurgery and regularly performed the operation himself. He would speak to his patients, who were only given a local anaesthetic, while performing the hideous operation and would continue to destroy the nerve fibres in their frontal lobes until they could no longer respond to his questioning.
BACK AT THE AGENCY The Director of Central Intelligence, Allen Dulles, had always found Ewen Cameron’s suggestions original and far reaching. He had been impressed by his suggestion at the end of World War 2 that every surviving German over the age of twelve should receive a short course of electroshock treatment to burn out any remaining Nazi ideals. With such innovative ideas Dulles decided he was just the man for the job the CIA wanted done. The list of projects soon became long, and only those with the “need to know “ were ever aware of the total range of operations under way. There was to be large a number of doctors and researchers like Cameron on the CIA payroll. The full details of the Mind-control research operations that the CIA conducted under Dulles' command will never be made public. Many of the records were destroyed in following years. In all there were 149 MKUltra subprojects dealing with behavioural modification. A further 33 subprojects were funded under MKUltra that were not related to this type of research. We will never know what these projects were about. Nor will we know what use the results of these experiments have been put to. What follows is a list of formerly top-secret covert operations that were conducted by the CIA for mind-control research purposes:

OPERATION CHATTER Beginning in 1947 as a US Navy program, Operation Chatter set about to identify and test truth drugs. The CIA became concerned about the reports of “amazing results” being achieved by the Russians in this area and decided to conduct their own research. Eventually the CIA had many institutions secretly conducting drug experiments on their behalf. At the National Institute for Mental Health’s Addiction Research Centre in Lexington, Kentucky, the Director, Dr. Harris Isabell would test many drugs including scopolamine, rivea seed, bufontenine, and LSD for the Agency. Isabell once kept a study group of seven drug addicts on an LSD trip for a total of seventy-seven days. He noted on day 42 that the experiment was “the most amazing demonstration of drug tolerance I have ever seen.” In an attempt to break the tolerance he gave the human guinea pigs triple and quadruple doses. In 1975 when giving evidence to a Senate subcommittee who were investigating alleged CIA misbehavior, Dr. Isabell said that at the time, “ethical codes were not so highly developed and there was a great need to know in order to protect the public in assessing the potential use of narcotics. I personally think we did an excellent job.”

CIA MIND CONTROL RESEARCH OPERATION FLESH HUNT This was a search to locate “magic mushrooms” like those used by American and Mexican Indians in ceremonial rituals. Scientists returned from field trips with carefully labelled satchets of piule seeds,complete with lists of where they had been picked and details of the surrounding vegetation and soil conditions. These drugs would be tested on unsuspecting victims to establish their potential for intelligence use.
MKULTRA SUBPROJECT-68 This was Dr. Cameron’s ongoing “attempts to establish lasting effects in a patient’s behaviour” using a combination of particularly intensive electroshock, intensive repetition of prearranged verbal signals, partial sensory isolation, and repression of the driving period carried out by inducing continuous sleep for seven to ten days at the end of the treatment period. During research on sensory deprivation, Cameron experimented with the use of Curare, (the deadly poison used by South American Indians to tip their arrow heads), to immobilise his patients. After one test he noted: “Although the patient was prepared by both prolonged sensory isolation (35 days) and by repeated depatterning, and although she received 101 days of positive driving, no favourable results were obtained.” Patients were regularly treated with hallucinogenic drugs, long periods in the “sleep room”, and testing in the Radio Telemetry Laboratory that was built by Rubenstein under Dr. Cameron’s direction. Here, patients were exposed to a range of RF and electromagnetic signals and monitored for changes in behaviour. It was later stated by other staff members who had worked at the Institute that not one patient sent to the Radio Telemetry Lab showed any signs of improvement afterwards.
( Moles, Informers, snoops, field agents). A report by a Senate investigating committee recorded in 1975 that, “ Prior consent was obviously not obtained from any of the subjects. There was, obviously, no medical pre-screening. In addition, the tests were conducted by individuals who were not qualified scientific observers. There was no medical personnel on hand to administer the drugs or to observe their effects and no follow up was conducted on the subjects.”
OTHER MKULTRA OPERATIONS There were an enormous number of MKUltra operations. The project farmed out work to eighty institutions, of which forty-four were colleges or universities, fifteen research facilities or private companies, twelve hospitals and three prisons. The estimated total cost of the operation was 10-25 million dollars. Prisoners were used in experiments conducted at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville State Prison by Dr. James Hamilton. Funded by another chain of front organisations, Dr. Hamilton conducted “clinical testing of behavioural control materials.” In New Jersey, testing was conducted by Dr. Carl Pfieffer at the Borden Reformatory, on similar materials. At Holmesburg State Prison in Philadelphia volunteers were used to test a particularly violent incapacitating drug. Around the same time as these tests were being conducted by the CIA the US Army initiated two projects, THIRD CHANCE and DERBY HAT. They conducted experiments both home and abroad, and a one time the New York State Psychiatric Institute was conducting research under contract to the Army. Between 1955 and 1958 the Army also tested LSD on 1,000 volunteer US servicemen at Fort Bragg and the Army’s Chemical Warfare Laboratories at Edgewood.
Included in the operation were attempts by CIA agents to infiltrate public gatherings, such as cocktail parties, where unsuspecting guests were sprayed with LSD in canisters variously labelled as insect repellent, deodorant, and perfume.
MKULTRA SUBPROJECT 3 A project designed to assess the use of sexual entrapment in covert operations. It became known unofficially as Operation Midnight Climax. Included in the operation were attempts by CIA agents to infiltrate public gatherings, such as cocktail parties, where unsuspecting guests were sprayed with LSD in canisters variously labelled as insect repellent, deodorant, and perfume. An operation conducted in an apartment in New York’s Greenwich Village focused specifically on drug testing. Another apartment was rented on Telegraph Hill in San Francisco and used for further drug testing. It was also set up as a brothel at which was used to discover more about the psychological aspects of sexual behaviour and prostitution, and to scout for potential CIA “assets.”

MKDELTA This operation focused on the interrogation of people who were suspected as being foreign agents spying upon US installations, or native Americans suspected of being foreign agents. Much of the testing was conducted off the American mainland in CIA safe houses and American occupied war zones.
OPERATION MINDBENDER A covert operation conducted in Mexico City that involved the use of undercover hypnotherapists to determine whether an unsuspecting victim could be influenced, by a combination of drugs and hypnosis, into becoming an assassin who would carry out an order to kill after being triggered into action by a pre-programmed signal.

CIA MIND CONTROL RESEARCH MKSEARCH An operation that included over a dozen sub-projects. The projects were under the control of Dr Sydney Gottlieb. Most were a continuation of projects conducted under MKUltra that were renamed after Dr. Cameron’s time with the Agency had come to an end. Some were to be conducted in CIA safe houses set aside in a number of American cities including, Washington, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. The intention was to use them as locations where “expendables”, (that is a subject who might die, but whose disappearance was unlikely to arouse suspicion), could be tested under full medical supervision. Other sub-projects concentrated specifically on exploiting human weaknesses and destabilizing personalities. One operation funded under MKSearch by Dr. Gottlieb was researching micro-organisms with the capacity to kill. The work was carried out by two separate laboratories who were unaware of each other’s activities. One was a private research facility in Baltimore, the other was at the Army Biological Laboratory at Fort Detrick, which had been running an operation since May 1952 known as MKNaomi. The civilian researchers in Baltimore were instructed to attempt to find chemicals that could induce anything from the desire for kinky sex, to simulating death by carbon dioxide , that is, to produce a chemical that could be used to fake suicide. At Mount Sinai Hospital an immunologist by the name of Dr Harold Abramson was allocated $85,000 by Dr. Gottlieb and was told that the Agency wanted experiments done on disturbance of memory. They wanted disturbance by aberrant behaviour, changes of sex patterns, suggestibility and the creation of dependence, to be used in the obtaining of information.
OPERATION BIG CITY In their search for a chemical material “which would cause a reversible non-toxic aberrant mental state, the specific nature of which could be reasonably well predicted for each individual”, Operation Big City was launched. A 1953 Mercury car was modified so that it’s exhaust pipe extended 18 inches beyond it’s normal length. The car was then driven a total of eighty miles around New York emitting a gas to test it’s effect on passers-by. In another test operatives travelled on the New York subway with battery powered emission equipment fitted into suitcases, to see if LSD could be sprayed in confined areas and affect people. The operators wore nasal filters. In San Francisco a biological gas was released off the Golden Gate Bridge, with the intention of covering the city and monitoring the gases disorientating effects. It blew away before it could cause any harm. In 1957, the CIA Inspector General, Lyman Kirkpatrick issued an internal memo which stated that “precautions must be taken not only to protect the operations from exposure to enemy forces, but also to conceal these activities from the American public in general. The knowledge that the Agency is engaging in unethical and illicit

activities would have serious repercussions in political and diplomatic circles and would be detrimental to the accomplishment of its mission.”
OPERATION RESURRECTION In this MKSearch sub-project the isolation chamber that had been constructed earlier by Dr. Cameron at the Allan Memorial Institute was rebuilt at a laboratory of the National Institutes of Mental Health. This time, instead of humans, apes were to be subjected to a cruel combination of treatments. After first being lobotomized, the animals were kept in total isolation. The radio telemetry techniques developed earlier by Leonard Rubenstein were adapted so that radio frequency energy could be beamed into the brains of the highly disturbed animals. Many were then decapitated and their heads would be transplanted onto another body to see if the RF energy would bring them back to life. The apes that were not killed in this way were later bombarded with radio waves until they fell unconscious. Autopsies revealed that their brain tissue had literally been fried. These experiments were conducted around 1965/66, so it is a frightening reality that it is around 25 years since intelligence agencies covertly started experimenting with the use of radiated energy to control behaviour. Around the same time the Agency set up the Amazon Natural Drug Company in Iquitos, Peru. It acted as a channel for the Agency to collect drugs for their operations. A small team of botanists gathered leaves, roots and barks from the jungle, which were then sent back to the TSS laboratories where they were pulverised into dust and fed to more apes to see if they were driven mad or would kill each other. They did both.
OPERATION SPELLBINDER On June 30th, 1966, Richard Helms became Director of Central Intelligence. He was the first DCI since Dulles to push hard for results in the mind control field. Operation MKSearch went into overdrive. Old projects were resurrected, abandoned projects reactivated. The safe houses were told to expect a steady supply of Vietcong expendables to experiment on. One of the projects to be revived was the less than successful Operation Mindbender. Renamed Operation Spellbinder, the assignment was to create a sleeper killer, a real life “Manchurian Candidate.” A hypnotist was recruited from the American Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis. He became known amongst the Agency staff as “Dr. Fingers” and was selected because his file stated that he would have no qualms about conducting potentially terminal experiments. The intended victim of the experiment was Fidel Castro. After attempts to program several would-be assassins, the operation was discontinued and written off as a complete failure.
DIGGING DEEPER INTO THE BRAIN. What the Agency wanted more than anything was the capability to influence or control subjects remotely. This would open an entirely new set of operational possibilities to the world of covert

CIA MIND CONTROL RESEARCH intelligence. Due to the obviously sensitive nature of any research in this area, special precautions were taken to isolate operations financially from other projects and the Agency.
MKULTRA SUBPROJECT 142 AND SUBPROJECT 94 Subproject 142 was “ a small biological program of electrical brain stimulation involving some new approaches to the subject. “ The project would “engage in some very practical experiments at some point in the work that would present security problems if this effort were to be handled in the usual way. Some of the work proposed for these animals would involve possible delivery systems for direct executive type action operations as distinguished from the eaves dropping application.” The term “executive action” was the CIA’s euphemism for assassination. Subproject 94 was similar, its purpose “to provide for a continuation of investigations on the remote directional control of activities in selected species of animals. Miniaturized stimulating electrode implants in specific brain center areas will be used.” These projects were initially conducted on animals. Dogs, cats and monkeys were tested as guided microphones and bombs. By 1960, “the feasibility of remote control of several species “ had been demonstrated. By April 1961, Sidney Gottlieb’s team had “ a ‘production’ capability.” After successful testing of electrode implants in animals brains, it was only a matter of time before human subjects were to be used. In July 1968 an Agency team flew into Saigon to experiment on three Vietcong prisoners at Bien Hoa Hospital. Working in an enclosed compound, the team’s neurosurgeon and neurologist inserted tiny electrodes into their brains. Behaviorists then experimented on the men, arming them with knives and trying to induce violent behaviour in them using the direct electrical stimulation. After a week of experimentation which failed to incite the men to attack each other, they were shot dead and their bodies were burned. One cannot even begin to guess at the number of people who have been subjected to brain implants since these early experiments.
OPERATION OFTEN By 1969 TSS had been replaced by the Office of research and Development (ORD) as the Agencies “department of the unorthodox.” The most innovative and daring doctors were transferred to ORD and a number of bizarre and far-reaching experiments were put into action. The roots of the new research could be traced back to the earlier work Dr. Cameron had approved which tried to establish links between eye colouring and mental illness. The ORD chemical and biological team started off trying to create a deadly virus by exposing a range of already deadly bacteria to ultraviolet light. While they continued with that line of research, the psychiatrists and behaviorists on the ORD team set off to explore an even stranger possibility. The world of the supernatural and black magic. Agents spread out across the country in search of for-

tune-tellers, palm readers, psychics and clairvoyants. The agents would introduce themselves as researchers from the Scientific Engineering Institute. They worked with their new found subjects searching for ways to use the paranormal in spying and counterintelligence. By May 1971, Operation Often had three astrologers on its payroll whose specific task was to predict the future. They would sit for hours in soundproof booths scouring magazines and newspapers looking for items that would alert them psychically. They then taped whatever thoughts came into their minds about how the particular situation may develop. By 1972 two Chinese-American palmists has been employed to probe how hand reading could be developed for intelligence work. Palmists had already been consulted after the Agency went to considerable lengths to obtain Fidel Castro’s palm prints. A medium was used to scout the United Nations headquarters for “evil types” and an approach was even made to the minister in charge of exorcisms for the Catholic archdiocese of New York. Whatever the offer, it was firmly rejected. Research was conducted into black magic, complete with an analysis on the covens operating in the United States. The Scientific Engineering Institute funded a course in sorcery at the University of South Carolina. The CIA’s scientists carefully studied the results of the classes devoted to fertility rites and raising the dead. Simultaneously, research into brain implant technology was stepped up.
THE SCHWITZGEBEL MACHINE After consultation with the DCI, Richard Helmes, Dr. Gottlieb hired the former director of the Agency’s Office of Scientific Intelligence, Dr. Stephen Aldrich , and set him up in a safe house where a KGB defector had recently been interrogated and tortured continuously for almost three years, so that he could experiment with a device known as the Schwitzgebel Machine. This was a ‘Behavioural Transmitter-Reinforcer’ (BT-R) fitted to a body belt that received signals from , and transmitted signals to, a radio module. The machine was “linked to a missile-tracking device which graphs the wearer’s location and displays it on a screen.” It was developed by Ralph K. Schwitzgebel in the Laboratory of Community Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. His brother, Robert, subsequently modified the prototype into a more refined final product. The machine drew enthusiastic praise from criminologists who were supportive of ORD’s concepts for the intelligence techniques of the new world order. On December 10th, 1972, Helmes cancelled Operation Often.The memo sent to Dr. Gottlieb to notify him was marked READ - DESTROY. Dr. Gottlieb resigned from the Agency in January 1973. Before he left he was ordered by Helmes to shred all records from MKUltra - MKSearch. 130 boxes would later be discovered in the Langley archives that, inexplicably, Dr. Gottlieb had failed to destroy. It was thought that the records had been misfiled and would have been to destroyed if Helmes and Gottlieb had been aware of them.

CIA MIND CONTROL RESEARCH SKELETONS IN THE CLOSET In July 1974 the Watergate scandal climaxed with the resignation of President Richard M. Nixon, and Vice-President Gerald R. Ford stepping in to take the reigns. Ford immediately became aware of scope of the CIA’s wholesale misbehavior. They had tried everything from blackmail, bribery, and sexual harassment, to violence and murder, in a genuinely horrific abuse of their privilege to classify anything they deemed fit to cover up TOP-SECRET , ULTRA, or EYES-ONLY. Upon hearing the truth, Gerald Ford’s reaction was reportedly to shake his head in disbelief and mutter ,”My God. Oh, My God.” In December 1974 The New York Times ran a story exposing some of the Agency’s illegal activities during the Johnson and Nixon administration, and a public outcry ensued. President Ford quelled the public reaction by appointing a committee, chaired by Vice-President Nelson A. Rockerfeller, to investigate the allegations. Ronald Reagan, who was Governor of California at the time, was one one of the eight members sitting on the committee. He rallied strongly in favour of the CIA and claimed that “in any bureaucracy of about sixteen million people there are going to be individuals who make mistakes and do things they shouldn’t do.” Over dinner with William Casey, Reagan vowed that if he were ever elected President he would make sure that the CIA would never have to fight with one arm tied behind it’s back. George Bush became DCI on January 31, 1976, and departed to become Reagan’s running mate on January 20, 1977. On January 26, 1981, William Casey made his first trip to the White House as Director of Central Intelligence. Within a short space of time, the Director of the National Security Agency (NSA), Admiral Bobby Ray Inman, who had also been in the running become to become DCI, helped forge closer ties with the CIA. Attempts were made to smooth the competitive relationship between the two agencies, the NSA allowing the CIA unprecedented access to their extensive data and computerised intelligence gathering facilities. On December II, 1980, a law suit was filed against the CIA by a former patient under the “care” of Dr. Ewen Cameron. Shortly afterwards another patient became a co-plaintiff. It was expected that more victims of the CIA’s covert mind-control research operations would shortly join in. Casey ordered the CIA legal staff to delay any court hearings for as long as possible, his plan being that if the elderly plaintiffs were to die before the trial, the case would would die with them. Casey then set about collecting damning evidence about the medical torture practices of over eighty countries deemed to be unfriendly to the United States. The case eventually made it to trial. The plaintiffs settled for a sum of $100,000 each which was released to them on the understanding that they would never publicly discuss the case again. The operations listed above only became public knowledge because of the public’s awareness of the Senate investigations, and checks made by researchers under the Freedom of Information Act.

Today, in almost every country in the world, torture involving the manipulation of the human mind is performed on someone every single day. Techniques have become so sophisticated that even victims who become statistics may be unaware of what, or who, has been interfering with their minds. The techniques that are in use today are more subtle, silent, and deadly than ever before. There is no way of knowing just how many research projects, or perhaps more importantly, deployment operations, are being conducted at the present time. Perhaps the sudden change of attitude by many of the Iraqi personnel on the ground in the recent Gulf War could be related to the possible use of secret long-range behaviour modifying technologies. Much of the research conducted by the CIA and the Soviets has inspired both the Intelligence community and the Defense Department to a close look at the potential of parapsychology for covert psychic warfare purposes. This topic will be covered in detail in a future issue of Nexus. The intention of publishing this story is not to shock or scare you. It is to remind you that behind the veil of secrecy that masquerades as “national security”, there are people perfecting mind-control techniques that can relieve you of your self control. Only by being aware of the silent hand that would like to control your mind will you recognize where the veil starts and deception begins. Only by being aware can we begin to lift the veil.

MAN - APES OF EASTERN AUSTRALIA Part II
YOWIES CONTINUING OUR FASCINATING LOOK AT THE MYSTERIOUS "MAN-APES" THAT ARE REPORTED AROUND THE GLOBE!
Farmers around Kempsey on the NSW north coast, especially in the foothills of the vast, impenetrable Carrai Range west of town, frequently carry rifles with them while checking stock in remote areas. They recall only too well incidents that have occurred thereabouts over the years, of hairy manbeasts that have strayed from their mountain lairs onto remote farming properties. The story is still recalled how in 1965, a husband and wife left their remote foothills farm one morning to shop in Kempsey. Their 15 year old daughter was left behind alone to do housework. She had tidied up about the house and was in the back yard feeding chickens when the family dog, chained up near the house,

by Rex Gilroy began barking furiously, then cringing, crawled inside its kennel. The girl, suddenly aware that something was behind her, turned, dropped the bag of chicken feed she had been holding, and screamed in terror. There, standing several metres from and towering over her frail 1.8m height, was an enormous hairy manlike beast a good 2.6m tall, and showing a ferocious look in its eyes, which she later recalled were set deep inside big eyebrows. Large teeth showed from its snarling mouth, and it had an overpowering odour. The manbeast moved towards her, but the terrified girl rushed up the back door steps, into the house, slamming and bolting the door as she did so. For some minutes, she later recalled, the beast paced around the house emitting a loud grunting sound, then all went silent. She was beside herself with terror when her parents returned a couple of hours later, and although she could describe exactly what she had seen to them, and later to police, nobody in authority took any action. No search was organised to attempt to track the mysterious intruder due to the vastness of the nearby wilderness. The above story is typical of many, often quite believable accounts I receive and follow up. But sightings reports are only as good as the people who claim to have experienced them, and are not physical proof. However, like the best of the plaster casts and photographs of possible Yowie tracks found in the wild, they are good circumstantial evidence upon which to build a case for these creature's existence. But, if the Yowie exists, why hasn't one been captured by now? Or, why hasn't someone found any bones or a recently deceased carcass? The answer is simple. The Yowie's habitat covers vast tracts of inaccessible forest - covered mountain country forming the eastern Australian mountain ranges. Country so inaccessible, that any rare or "unknown" species could very easily escape human detection for centuries. Under these circumstances, capturing a Yowie would be virtually impossible, let alone attempting to photograph one. As for finding recently deceased remains, or bones; mother nature keeps a clean house. No sooner does an animal die in the wild, than its tissue is quickly eaten up by other animals, decomposition and acidic chemicals in the forest soil. Bones become

MAN - APES OF AUSTRALIA scattered, softened by moisture, and cracked by heat; so that soon nothing remains. Everyone has seen koalas in zoos, but how many have ever found one dead in the wild? The Australian bush is so vast that it is a case of being in the right place at the right time to find any recently deceased animal or its skeleton. The rarer the species, the less chance of finding remains. So finding physical evidence of the Yowie will be very difficult, considering the habitat in which they live. On the other hand, fossil remains of a Yowie could yet turn up to finally settle the issue. It was for the purpose of gathering such evidence that I established the "Australian Unknown Animals Research Centre" (PO Box 473, Kootingal NSW 2352. Ph: 067 787 201), where I welcome any information helpful to my investigations. Not a week passes without someone mailing or phoning me a reported sighting to follow up, or, occasionally, mystery footprints to inspect in some remote area. I often receive photos of Yowie type tracks, and, sometimes actual plaster casts. While many cast tracks can easily be dismissed as the work of hoaxers, there are a few identical tracks which possess anatomical features unique to primate - type creatures of which laymen are ignorant, found hundreds of kilometres apart. This was the case with a single cast a least twice the size of a normal human foot, displaying an opposable big toe, found on a lonely 4-Wheel drive track deep in the Kanangra-Boyd National Park, high up in the Jenolan Range, south-west of Katoomba, NSW in 1987. It compares favourably with a number of giant-sized footprints found by campers in the Numinbah Valley, below the imposing Lamington Plateau on the Qld/NSW border in 1970. These tracks, found embedded in creek mud, measured 45cm in length, by 20cm wide across the toes. Much later, in March 1990, businessman Craig Turner en route to Sydney, stoppled his car by a Numinbah Valley creek. Walking along the bank he found several large footprints embedded up to 4cm deep in mud. Spaced 1.5m apart, the footprints measured 40cm in length by 17cm wide. After obtaining plaster from a nearby town, he made casts of left and right feet, which he later gave me. Recently an identical right foot cast of the same measurements came to me from the Kiandra district in the Snowy Mountains. Identical tracks from such widely distributed localities are a persuasive argument for the existence of the Yowie. Like Asian and American "manbeast" footprints, those of the Yowie have flat arches, with abnormally wide heels. The toes are short, and the forefoot less tapered than the human foot. With a knowledge of primate foot skeletal structure and musculature fake tracks are easily detected. When a fake foot rises, it kicks up a little mound of dirt behind the toes in the footprint. Shoes or a bare foot kick up a mound of dirt back toward the middle of the foot.

From all the foregoing evidence it is obvious that the Yowie/Yeti/Bigfoot stand somewhere between man and ape, a feature of most descriptions given by people who have come face-toface with one of these creatures. And here are some of the many modern day, startling reports of people who have had the "encounter of a life-time". The Snowy Mountains has produced many encounters. My research findings show many of these reports occur about June, following the first winter snowfall, when the animal life of the high country migrates into the lower regions. It is at this time that sightings of man-beasts, or footprint discoveries, often on snowcovered ground, are most prevalent. During June 1970, at Geehi, northwest of Mt Kosciusko, two mountaineers, Ron Bartlett and Frank Sinclair, were camped on the edge of a stand of mountainside trees. Overnight a light snowfall occurred. At daybreak they were preparing to abandon camp when Frank noticed some large, man-like tracks embedded in nearby snow. Both had heard tales of the giant hairy "Doolagahls" said to inhabit the mountain country, but had taken little notice of these "bushmen's tales", until they saw these tracks. The men also detected a strange odour and had the distinct feeling they were not alone. Cautiously they began working their way down the mountainside scrub. Suddenly, ahead they spotted a 2.6m tall, dark hairy man-like figure staring at them. It then vanished into the dense scrub. In October 1990, Dereck Holmes, while camped on the bank of the source of the Snowy River below Mt Kosciusko, awoke at first light to peer from his tent. As he did so, he caught sight of a 1.6m tall hairy female creature standing nearby amid granite boulders. As he emerged, bewildered at the sight, she bolted away disappearing over a granite outcrop. (It was hereabouts back in 1948 that a party of campers sighted a tall hairy figure about 2.3m tall, moving up a mountainside through snow, at a distance of about 100m.). Earlier, in January 1990, two young women, Susan Townsend, another girl and their boyfriends, were camped on the shore of Lake Jindabyne one late afternoon. While others went wood collecting in the surrounding forest, Susan was busy getting the campfire started. Detecting a powerful odour and hearing twigs snapping underfoot, she turned and screamed with fear, as a hairy 2.3m tall, muscular giant naked male creature, almost ape-like in appearance, emerged from trees a mere 10m away. He approached the girl, but hearing the others returning bolted in big strides into the forest. The boys, hearing Susan's frantic account of what she had just seen, gave chase up mountainside scrub, thinking the intruder was some weird hermit. Large rocks hurled at them and loud snarls convinced the boys to end their pursuit. Locals to whom they later told their story, said they probably saw one of the "Doolagahls" that old aborigines claim still live up in the mountains!

MAN - APES OF AUSTRALIA Further north, in the vast Kanangra-Boyd National Park, in March 1978, two young women and their male companions were camped near Kanangra Creek. While searching the valley floor below Kanangra Walls, they discovered a number of larger-thanman-sized footprints in sand, which they laughed off as someone's joke. But later returning to their camp, they found it ransacked, and the same large tracks visible in surrounding soil. That night at the camp, still believing the tracks and vandalism the work of a joker, they were startled by "something" moving in nearby bush. The unseen intruder emitted a series of loud, terrifying screams and howls. The terrified group remained awake all night, large branches at the ready for protection, and leaving in haste at first light. The following month another group of several Sydney boys and girls, led by Mr Ted Graham, were camped below the "Walls". Walking along a track about 4pm they spotted 130m ahead of them, a long-armed, man-like creature 3m in height. "It seemed to walk in a stooped manner. It stopped and looked towards us, then moved away into the scrub", Ted told me later. The group spent an uneasy night at their campfire, returning cautiously the next morning to the spot where they had seen the mystery 'manimal'. Here they found footprints on the track and in nearby forest soil measuring 50cm in length by 20 cm in width, displaying an opposable big toe. During February 1990 my wife Heather and I carried out an extensive field investigation of the Lamington National Park area. We interviewed a Numinbah Valley farmer who had experienced eerie happenings. Giant footprints have been found on his property, and weird cries heard at night. In 1969 he was working in a field one morning, when he saw, some distance away, a 3m tall, hairy "man-beast" walking across the field carrying a dead calf. Grabbing his .303 rifle he fired at the creature, as it effortlessly cleared a wooden paling fence in a single stride, escaping into rainforest. In another incident a few years earlier, in the Tweed Valley, a stockman, Richard Adams, was mustering a mob of cattle on horseback when the cattle and his horse suddenly took fright. It was at this moment that, barely 16m ahead of him, an enormous putrid-smelling, muscular hairy man-like creature appeared menacingly brandishing a large tree limb. The creature, whose face Richard later described as being somewhere between human and ape, stood its ground snarling, as the terrified stockman turned his mount to gallop off down the slope. It was in the Tweed Valley that, one night in 1935, residents of an isolated farm were startled by the frantic bellowing of their house cow. Their cattle dog tore off into the darkness, barking ferociously. The dog attacked something, but suddenly let out an agonising yelp, then all was quiet. The farmer and one of his farmhands went out armed with lanterns and guns. They found the corner fences down, the cow

dead with a broken neck, its head almost torn off - and the dog crushed against a tree where it had been thrown. In the distance they could hear something crashing through the bush up the mountainside. A search next day failed to explain what had killed the animals. However, neighbouring farmers believed it was the work of the "Monster Men of the Lamington Plateau". Aborigines refuse to enter the valleys hereabouts, for fear of the horrible creatures they believe still lurk there, and which would kill and eat anyone who crossed their path. Over the years people have disappeared without a trace in these wilds. Eerie cries are often heard at night, terrifying campers. It was in February 1988, that two campers, John Chambers and Russell Bradden surprised a 2m tall female creature, grubbing for roots on the floor of a Numinbah Valley rainforest. As she arose and escaped into the jungle, the men observed her receding forehead, long arms and long pendulous breasts. Back in 1965 in the same area, a group of mountain climbers were moving through rainforest at the base of a Lamington cliff face, when they spotted a 3m tall, hairy ape-like creature clambering over boulders, leaving behind an overpowering, rotting, animal like stench. The often powerful smell of these creatures is a world-wide feature of these "relict hominid" reports, and is not fully understood. Hominologists don't know everything about these creatures yet, but with every passing year, the evidence for their existence mounts. It is now 34 years since, as a Liverpool Boys High School (Sydney) student, I first read of the "Hairy Man" in an aboriginal legend book in the school library, and became immediately fascinated with the creatures, recognising similarities between these and the Yeti/Sasquatch. Since then, it has never ceased to amaze me just how much interest my research has caused. Perhaps the main reason why millions of people world-wide find the Yowie/Yeti/Bigfoot mystery so fascinating, is that in modern times, it is one of the last great unsolved mysteries; in the tradition of the Loch Ness Monster, the giant monitor lizards of New Guinea, and the 'neodinosaurs' of the Congo. People are naturally excited about these, and any other unexplained mysteries, and want to read all the available literature about them. But there can be nothing more exciting than actually participating in the search for such creatures. I feel privileged to be the founder of Yowie research in Australia, and to have encouraged others to follow my example. The search for surviving "relict hominids" in remote, hidden regions of the world has been called the "last great search", and it is a fascinating search. "..history and archaeology are already being challenged, because what we are finding is the further we go back the more sophisticated things appear to be, which is really rather contrary to our beliefs of history." The validity of the Bible seems to be making a popular comeback of late. Apart from the interesting correlations between the Book of Reveleations and today's times, story of Noah's Ark has raised it's head again, and not for the last time, if the findings of Dr. Allan Roberts are anything to go by. Dr. Allan Roberts was part of an international expedition of 12 or so people, examining the remains of what appear to be an ancient vessel. The expedition made local headlines in Australia, when the members where kidnapped by local Kurds, who appeared to only want international recognition. Ironically, the kidnapping only served to highlight the extraordinary findings of the team. Most popular stories about the Ark place it on Mount Arrarat in Turkey, but the remains being studied, actually fall on part of the surrounding mountains instead. The area is known as "Akyayla", which literally means 'high white plateau', and can be found in the province of Agri, not far from Dogubayazit, near the village of Uzengilli. The place where the remains can be found is known as the "Duripinar Site".

What follows is extracted from an interview with Dr. Roberts by Reinhard Stark. As I approached Dr. Allan Roberts' home set in the beautiful leafy suburb of Castle Hill, west of Sydney, an unfamiliar piano melody was being played from within. The music stopped abruptly as I knocked on the flyscreen door and heard wide gated footsteps motion towards me from an adjacent room. I looked up through the screen door and saw a tall, grey-white bearded man. (It’s Noah!) If indeed Noah was tall, the face of this man showed a deep sense of awe in knowledge and wisdom himself, befitting him as a world traveller, historian and lecturer. Inviting me inside, Allan Roberts greeted me with a warm friendly smile and handshake, we then seated ourselves in the adjacent room where the piano, I previously heard, was played and mentioned that it was one of his relaxing pastimes in between writing for his two upcoming books. RS: When were you first interested in the ark? Why did you start searching for it? AR: Well everybody was interested in the Ark. It’s universally known, and I guess a loved story by adults and children alike, and happens to be a dominant story in the western world. It's not only an account in the old testament, but is also recorded other places such as the Epic of Gilgamesh, and various tribal accounts with some legends recorded even earlier on. Of course everyone knew about it and I was one of those people who was fascinated from the historical point of view since very early on. The Akyayla Site, proclaimed to be discovered approximately 30 years ago. When I was a young historian I read an account in some magazines about a group from America who examined a boat shaped object they thought to be Noah’s Ark. They went and checked it, and very roughly knew it was there, decided that becuase it was underneath the mud, they would use dynamite to get at it. They blew a big hole in the side and because wood didn’t come out they designated it a natural formation. So that was a non gentle method and a fairly inadequate determination wasn’t it(?), in the light of the evidence that they thought they had. Anyway that was one of the first visits. The local people knew about it, came up in ‘48 as a result of an earthquake. It soon hit the news, and spread pretty widely I believe it was syndicated through Time-Life magazine in or about 1960. I was particularly interested then because the descriptions given in the scripture's, details specific information of the kind an archeologist needs, and one of them of course was the size of the Ark. This is given quite specifically in cubits as you know. RS: A cubit being?

IN SEARCH OF NOAH'S ARK AR: A cubit being an ancient measure which is a varying size that in the sense that there were several of them. Piazzi Smith of last century, who measured the Great pyramid, quite compellingly found the ancient 20.6 inch egyptian cubit to be the standard throughout the mediterranean area and so we adopted it. That being the case then all one had to do is take the bible measurements (and disregard the other cubits that we couldn’t interface with) and it (20.6 inches) became consistent in the end. We’ve multiplied 300 (Noah’s Ark cubits) by 20.6, divided by 12 inches to give it in feet in length (515’ which we’ve found) and have done the same for all dimensions, breadth and height. I was interested in biblical times, and particularly interested when I read the article, because it was claimed that this boat shaped formation was roughly the size of the Ark described in the scriptures, and I had longing to see it. But its not always easy for various reasons, the political one being its a very dangerous of course being on the border of Soviet Russia, Iran and Iraq. You couldn’t get a much 'hotter' spot than where it is. But it was when I teemed up with Ron White, and we did more research on the site, that we really started to move ahead. Ron had been there several times before me and has worked closely with the Turkish government and has set up a Commission with them. They are very efficient when it comes to archaeology and geology. RS: You mentioned before that they have a lot of archeological sites there! AR: Yes, about 80,000 of them. One of the richest countries in the world for archaeological sites.. RS: Are there any other significant sites such as the “boat shaped object?” AR: I don’t know of any other that are as unique as this one but they have classified this one as one of major importance. It is classed in the highest category of archaeological sites in Turkey. They [the Turks] have gone a lot further than than we have with their research, but we don’t have all the information that they have gotten from the site, and they haven't yet made all their findings public. RS: Why do you think that is? AR: Like any Commission, they,are not going to make it public until they have all their materials properly ratified and of course until they want to move on it. We’ve just got to be patient and move when they want to. We have a good relationship with the Commission, so we are encouraged and aided, to do it soon, because the object is deteriorating from being exposed to the elements. It's really very sad to see it decaying. You see, it's covered in mud, as well as being full of mud inside the ship, which of course is made of wood, now petrified wood. RS: So how far down under the mud is it? AR: Well we don’t know. There have been some recordings taken, but I don’t have the the exact measurements of those taken by the Turkish government. But the walls, or the hull, projects up over the surface of the mud barrier, standing up quite clearly. The size is quite remarkable, measured at 515 feet in length. The width is greater then it ought to be, according to the scriptural measure-

ments, but then again, it's been buried in mud for a very long time, and there has been a heavy burden on top, causing it to splay somewhat, which is quite consistent with what we can see with the particular dimensions we’ve read there. The height is pretty well gone as it's been squashed out flat, but it's a hull as you can see, and is quite intact. You have a bow as you can see [referring to photos], a stern, and gammels. But the most interesting thing was what we found underneath using our sonar. It appears there are buttrage divisions running across and down to the centre and the bulkheads, but we haven’t fully finished the readings there. RS: How long were you on the site? AR: Oh, I’ve been there a number of times now, but there has been a lot of work done at the site before our team got there. I wasn’t there on the particular occasion that the famous astronaut James Irwin was there, but on that occasion some terrorists opened fire upon the team and several members were killed, so their work wasn’t fully finished. Inside, the shapes that you see there - the columns, we suspected that they might be actual ribs, so we removed a little bit of the veneer which is quite thin on the port side that covers the column shapes, and we found that they were parallel stone shapes, all fossilised now. I think, we have pretty sound evidence. Underneath you have the major structure you would expect find in such a vessel, bulkheads and ribs. We also found using, powerful metal detectors, that we got some bleeps walking down the slope from aft to stern. Those bleeps came at regular intervals which shows some metal substance underneath. This might have been used for joinings of some sort and so what was done on that occasion, was the team decided to leave tapes on the regular intervals (as markers) and those tapes are very interesting because it qualified the divisions or walls or whatever you want to call them, bulkheads. Bulkheads run transversely, these were running down the ship. Now you put all that together and what you got is ROOMS! or compartments. And we think without much doubt this is what is underneath. Now it's interesting that the Genesis account, apart from the other details, says “rooms shalt they make too within the Ark”. It talks about decks, so of course we were not sure yet but with further research we may find evidence. The Bible also says that there is a door, and we’re about to let light on that. We believe we’re going to establish where it is and what it is, in detail. You know people are assuming that the people who built this boat were some sort of 'cave man', well it's obvious that a ship of this size, the largest ship made of wood EVER in history, couldn’t have possibly been built by them! RS: You think definitely the wood has become petrified? AR: Well we’ve found lots of petrified wood, and it is not even large scale digging at this point. A few years ago, the governmor of Agri, (pronounced ar-ee), was on site with many other dignitaries, and declared it a National Site. Ron White, using information he gleaned from his sonar research, said to the governor “Your Excellency..”, (they call them that over there), “down here pre-

IN SEARCH OF NOAH'S ARK cisely where we’ve marked, is petrified wood. Its broken and appears to be a long section of deck timber". So they dug, in front of the governor, it was a public event, on TV etc, and up came a piece of wood, approximately two feet by one and a half feet. It was very heavily laminated actually, and we’ve identified it botannically as “peti-cyprus”. Of course that'ss not gopher wood, but we think gopher means 'laminated', used for boats ever since of course, we all know its got great advantages; so its a large piece of laminated timber. We found othr pieces as well, some of which appears to be hand worked timber. I believe when we dig, we will find more of the fossilized structures of the “great boat”. One of the most interesting things when it comes to the Ark of Noah as recorded in in history, and in the scriptures in particular, is that it had a range of animals sufficient to repopulate the earth again. So zoologically speaking we're looking for evidence of some sort of a range of animals on the site. We’ve had one chance to look inside. RS: Is it hollow? AR: What I mean is we’ve been taking core samples, because it’s all caved in with mud, and we have found animal hair inside. RS: Has this been identified? AR: No, its work in progress. I did some work on it just this year, on identifying it. We’ve also found animal dung which will be most intersting to identify as well. RS: Has it been carbon dated? AR: Well, we don’t hold carbon dating as accurate. It has been questioned by people today who are using it. I could provide documentation to show you that there’s a great deal of, disenchantment shall I say, with radio-carbon dating. It has been pushed hard because everyone says it’s so wonderful. However for those who want to know it’s 5,700 years old usin the radio-carbon method, which is marginal for the 4-5,000 years we’re looking at. We'll be using isotope of hydrogen as a modern and accurate dating method. RS: What about the petrified wood itself, surely you can deter mine how long it takes to form? AR: I don’t have any specific knowledge on how long petrification takes place, but I know it can happen very quickly. For example I did some research on the south coast at Coalcliff some time ago with a geologist. With our geologist's hammer, we examined some old abandoned jetty pylons and which some, over the years, have fallen apart, a real hazard for children, excuse the story but it will serve its point with evidence. It showed it was lightly petrified and rang like a bell when struck, which is 30-40-50 years old, they sawed the wooden pylon off and drilled through the middle where there’s iron, which was used right down to the bedrock, very strong. Now when they’ve cut through horizontally they’ve found the iron in the middle has naturally rusted, in the process of petrification and chemical leaching of the iron has diffused outwards, a process called ironization as well as petrification. We found a lot of the ribs were ironized, in other words the structure adjacent to them has diffused through it, and so here we have a curious situation where things we can’t even see are picked

up by metal detectors, once wood, now ironized. RS: So what do you think about the flood theory and the theory of evolution? AR: Most people have got the theory of evolution stuck in their minds , a theory which is really in tatters now. Scientists are saying all over he world “good gracious haven’t we solved that part”. I’m not simply doing that by having a christian view, I’m simply saying that the whole theory is now in shambles, it really is. This idea that everything takes millions of years is astonishing. Let me give you an example. This is relative to the flood. When I stand up on top of the Blue Mountains or, as I’ve done, on the Grand Canyon, and I look down at the valley; I can stand there and say one of two things. Charles Darwin might have stood there and said “that little river down there would have taken millions of years to carve out this great valley “. See what he’s doing? A little bit of water over a long time has carved out the valley. I can stand on the same crevasse and postulate that a lot of water (from “the flood”) has carved out that same valley in a short period of time! I’ve examined Darwin’s theory carefully and believe it's a theory that’s falling to pieces, I think its time we started to look at some other answers. I don’t think we need millions of years to explain what has happened, I think things happened very quickly within a much shorter time frame, 4-5,000 years ago, ok there was a flood there, may have covered the entire world. Let's not fool about, let's take the account and test it! Test if it was a flood that covered the entire world and there was a boat that was big enough to be a floating zoo. Okay, you're looking at a big boat on a mountain, let’s face it it’s 2000 metres above sea level, and there is a boat that’s as big as a battle ship, how do you explain that? Across the mud valley from the site, there is a volcano, the biggest volcano in the area, that is the famous Mt.Ararrat. It is 17,000 feet or 5,000 metres high, and is covered with what’s called pillow lava. Pillow lave is only hardened underwater! Again you have a likely evidence of a flood! RS: What are the implications of theology, archaeology and sci ence of your discovery? AR: First of all it represents a challenge to science, of wether the earth was indeed flooded, a major flood, 4-5,000 years ago! There are questions raised about the science of the iron age and the bronze age. All of those things we find on the site indicates, a high degree of sophistication metallurgically, which is a challenge for our knowledge today. I think that type of discovery is a very very major issue of debate, which must happen and that’s healthy, I’m all for it. As for history and archaeology together undoubtedly they are already being challenged, because what we are finding is the further we go back the more sophisticated things appear to be which is really rather contrary to our beliefs of history. If you had found some of the things we’ve found already, you would also be challenged as WE have been. As I’ve said we’re not arguing the point I’m simply bringing forth evidence and letting people consider. RS: Thank you Allan.

UFOs - PROJECT GRUDGE BLUEBOOK REPORT #13 When the USAF's investigation into UFOs was terminated, a series of 'Blue Book Reports' were released to the public. Reports # 1 - 12 contained innocuous and non-sensitive material. The final report #14, was widely circulated, and a book was even written about it. Missing from public view, however, was Report #13. The following is a summary of what researcher Bill English found when he uncovered this elusive report.

A series of PROJECT GRUDGE/BLUEBOOK reports have been related over the years in connection with the USAF’s investigation into UFOs which was supposedly terminated with the release of the Condon report in the late 1960’s. Reports 1 through 12 of PROJECT GRUDGE/BLUEBOOK were generally innocuous and contained no classified or truly sensitive material. There was a final report, #14 which was widely circulated, and about which an entire book was written: FLYING SAUCERS:AN ANALY SIS OF THE AIR FORCE PROJECT BLUE BOOK SPECIAL REPORT NO.14 by Leon Davidson; the fifth edition was published in 1976 by Blue-Book Publishers; 64 Prospect St., White Plains, New York 10606. Missing from public view, however, was report #13. Several years ago, Bill English, son of an Arizona state legislator and former Captain in the Green Berets had been assigned to an RAF 'listening Post' north of London as an information analyst. English was, in the course of his duties, asked to prepare an analysis of the elusive GRUDGE 13 report. On his discharge from his work at the 'listening Post' he returned to the United States and began to do a little UFO research on his own. Bill had been no stranger to the UFO phenomenon. In VietNam he was member of a Special Forces investigative team that went in to retrieve a B-52 that was forced down by a UFO and all the occupants killed. Communications had been received from the B-52 before it went down to the effect that it was “....under attack by a UFO....”, a “....large light....”. The plane was found intact, sitting in the jungle. There was no swath indicative of a crash landing. Only the bottom of the fuselage showed any damage, there was no damage to the underside of the engine pods. Although the plane was completely intact the entire crew had been mutilated. Bill English, through contacts he still maintains has determined that the US government 'most definitely’ supports a 'project dealing specifically with UFO’s and captured aliens’. According to what he has learned, the US government captured a trio of aliens, and that as of mid 1981, one of the beings was still alive in captivity. Bill also claims that “at one point in the early 1950’s until the mid 1960’s the Air Force maintained relocation and debriefing colonies for people that had experienced close encounters of the 3rd and 4th kind. They were isolated for all intents and purposes for the rest of their lives. He doubts that these colonies are still in existence. Bill dictated 2 audio cassettes outlining what he remembered from the Grudge 13 report. These audio cassettes were transcribed into hand written notes by another person. The information con-

tained therein indicated what had been suspected all along that the US Government was involved in the greatest deception in the history of mankind and that not only did flying saucers exist but that the government had several in secret storage and had captured at least three live aliens. The following is a summary of what Bill English remembers from what he read during that day in July of 1977 of PROJECT GRUDGE/BLUE BOOK REPORT NO. 13. In box, diplomatic pouch under lock and key system. Lock had been opened, pouch was easily accessed. Standard diplomatic couriers pouch marked American Embassy Couriers, contained pouch serial number jl327Delta. Inside a publication with red tape which indicated code red security precautions and an Air Force disposition form. Disposition form was standard white page copy, title was 'Analysis Report’. Further down was 'Analyze enclosed report under code red measures, give abstract breakdown and report on validity. Observe all code red measures. Analysis required immediately’. Underneath were a series of dashes then the letters NDF then another series of dashes. Below that, lower left hand corner were the initials WGB. Publication was withdrawn from pouch. It measured approx. 8” by 11” with grey cover. Heavily bound, paper back style similar to technical manuals. Across the center front it read, “Grudge/Blue Book Report No. 13”. It was dated 1953-(1963). In the lower right-hand corner was AFSN 2246-3. in upper left hand corner was the word 'annotated’. Across the front upper right hand corner to lower left hand corner was red tape indicating code red security measures. Across the front was stamped in red ink 'Top Secret Need to Know Only Crypto Clearance 14 Required’. Inside front cover upper left hand corner were hand written notations in ink which were blacked out by black felt pen. Inside cover sheet was basically the same information as the cover. Second page was a title page. Next page after that was an appendix with numerous notations made in it. Notations dealt with inserts of what appeared to be photos and additional notes. At bottom of third page it read G/BV Page 1 of 624 pages. Title page was subject letter. Some notes on the practical applications of the Worst Nemo equations. Table of contents. Part 1, “On the design of generators to accomplish strain free molecular translation”. Part 2, "The gener ation of space time discontinuums, closed, opened and folded”. Sightings on Radar and Electronic Surveillance of UFO’s”. Subsection 2, Analysis Report, J. Allen Hynek, Lt. Col. Friend. Appendix continued on for about 5 pages. Opening subject page consisted of a report of the findings as written by Lt. Col. Friend and his analysis. Must stress at this point that the version seen was annotated. There were inserts that were added to this copy after it had been initially printed. Sections remembered very vividly are the photographs and the reports concerning captive sights of various UFOs to include Mexico, Sweden, United States and Canada. There were also what was then classified Close Encounters of the 3rd kind. It was made very clear that these people whom it was determined had genuine CE3’s were moved in the middle of the night by Air Force personnel and relocated to various sites in the midwest and Northwest parts of the United States. In many cases these people experienced physical ailments from exposure to various types of radiation. One case especially noted and remembered very vividly was entitled “Darlington Farm Case” out of Ohio. Case apparently took place in October 1953. Man, wife and 13 year old son were sitting down at dinner table. As they sat there the lights in the farm house began to dim. Dogs and animals raised ruckus on outside. 13 year old boy got up from dinner table to see what was going on. Called his mother and father to come look at the funny light in the sky. Father and mother went out onto the porch. When they got out on the porch one of the dogs broke loose from leash beside house and came running around front. Boy began chasing it into the open field. As mother and father watched the light come down from the sky. They described it as a round ball of fire and it began to hover over the field where the boy and dog had run to. As they stood and watched, the mother and father heard the boy start screaming for help whereupon the father grabbed his shotgun which was right next to the door and began to run out into the field with the mother following. When the father got to the field he saw his son being carried away by what looked like little men, into this huge fiery looking object. As it took off the father fired several rounds at the object, to no avail. They found the dog, it’s head had been crushed but no sign of the boy or any other footprints of the little men who apparently carried him off. Father immediately called the Darlington police and they immediately came out to investigate. The official report read that the boy had run off and was lost in the forest which bordered the farm. Within 48 hours the Air Force made the determination that the family was to be relocated and the mother and father were picked up by Air Force Intelligence and all personal belonging and possessions were loaded into U.S. Air Force trucks and moved to a northwestern relocation site. The mother was in shock and had to go through a great deal of psychotherapy and deprogramming as did father. One interesting aspect about this case was classification under Air Force report which read it was a genuine CE3 and that for the good of national security the mother and father had been relocated to relocation zones Z21-14. Not sure whether this indicated map grid coordinates or latitude longitude. According to the report there were at least four relocation sites across the United States. Depending upon which type of encounter these people had, the report indicated that there were extensive medical facilities available at the relo-

Allen Hynek was recalled vividly which indicated that he had also studied the information provided by this particular case and that he felt that it was indeed a genuine UFO capture and subsequently the alien was part of UFO. Dr. Hynek was non-committal but did however sign the report. Also indicated in the report that he did not view the bodies personally, but viewed photographs and accompa-

I realise it is remotely possible that you might have difficulty believing that the spirit of Nature can communicate with us. Let me assure you that it can, and does. When Treenie and I lived in Tasmania, I became well known as an organic gardner. An organ-

ic gardner grows plants in harmony with Nature by fertilising the soil with natural products. This is in stark contrast to the harmful practice of directly stimulating plants with factory produced chemicals. For almost a year, in my capacity as an organic gardner, I was a regular guest on radio 7LA, a talk show hosted by Jane Stark on the subject of organic gardening. We had a lot of fun, sparking a tremendous local response. Often, I touched on the controversial issue of talking to plants. This is something in which I believe; after all, a splendid tree is just as likely to speak in humanese as a cat or dog. I never ceased to be surprised at the number of people who, feeling safe in their anonymity, phoned to tell us of their personal experiences in this area. Their techniques were fascinatingly different and sometimes hilarious. While I have no proof that any of the accounts were true, I believed them. The speakers had a certain righ of crediblity, and my own experiences provided ample validation. Is it strange that with one exception, all of the incidents described involved women, and were volunteered by women? As an international seminar leader and speaker, I have observed that women definitely outnumber men when it comes to having an open mind. Generally speaking, they are more receptive, more aware, and far more intuitive, and they trust their intuition. Sorry guys.! One of our callers described a beautiful creeping miller's dust that grew alongside the path to her front door. Unfortunately, in its enthusiasm, the plant grew over the path as well, invading it from both sides, thus gradually reducing the safe walking area. Because the lady and her husband were rather elderly, this made the path dangerous for them. She cut it away regularly, a tough job. One afternoon, her back aching, she decided enough was enough. "Okay you nuisance plant," she said, "that's it. I've had enough. If you grow over my path anymore, much as I love you, I'll dig out every last piece of you and take you to the rubbish dump." That was three years ago, she told us, and the plant never again grew over that path. It did become a bit of a pest growing onto the lawn, but, as she said, "The lawn mover easily deals with that." Another caller told us about a vigorous ivy with splendid mottled leaves that grew in a large container in her bathroom. Her great indulgence each day was to soak in the bath for half an hour as soon as the kids had gone to school. "I'm ready to face the day then," she told us. "While I'm lying in the bath, I talk to the ivy and tell it how beautiful it looks, and how much I love it." "One day, I decided to see if I could persuade the ivy to creep its

way right around the bathroom, following the line to where the walls meet the ceiling. So each morning I told the ivy what I wanted, and to my surprise it did it. It grew away from the window light, and over the next eighteen months it crept right around the bathroom The ivy looks fantastic, and now it's on its second circuit!" She must have been a very persuasive lady to get an ivy to grow away from natural light. The lone man who phoned in had a question for me. "How do I get a tree to flower that hasn't ever flowered?" he asked. "How old is it?" I asked him. "Oh, I dunno. About twelve years perhaps." "What variety of tree is it?" "I haven't the faintest idea." We went through a question and answer routine that yielded absolutely nothing of any value. Then I had an idea. "Do you like the tree?" "No! Can't stand the bloody thing." "And why is that?" "Well, for one thing, me mother-in-law gave it to us, and for another, it never has any flowers." Back to where we started! "Does your wife like the tree, or your kids?" "No. Nobody likes it. I told you, it never bloody well flowers." "How would you like it if nobody liked you?" I asked him. "Do you reckon you would be able to thrive and flower?" Silence. "Are you still there?" I asked. "Yes, I'm here. That's a silly bloody question. I ain't a tree. I've got feelings." "So have plants, which has been proved in laboratory experiments. Anyway, you rang asking for my advice. I suggest you have a good look at that tree and see if you can find any redeeming factors that will allow you to feel good about it. Try telling the tree how good it looks and that you're glad it's in your garden." "But I ain't glad. I'd have chopped it down years ago, but the wife's mother would bloody murder me." "You have nothing to lose by trying what I suggest. You may even get a surprise." "Yeah! Surprise would be the bloody word." With this final surly comment, he hung up. Five months later he phoned again. I recognised his voice immediately. "G'day. Remember me? I'm the bloke who phoned about that tree that wouldn't flower." "Yes, I remember." "Well mate, I'm telling you that tree is now in full flower. It's bloody beautiful. I want to say thanks." It was my turn to be surprised. "I thought you hated the tree." "Yes I did. When you told me to try to like it, I thought you were bloody simple. But the wife heard what you suggested and reckoned we ought to try it. We had a good look at the tree, and I told her it was like a racehorse - it had good form. Ha, ha! She reckoned the leaves were nice, and we both liked the shade it gave. So I told the tree that it wasn't so bad after all. It's the truth - the tree seemed to perk up almost straight away. And now she's a bloody beaut!"

Probably my favorite of all the stories I heard was from a caller who identified herself as "a little elderly lady who loves trees." Among the many trees in her garden was a magnificent apple tree. For years it had not borne a single apple. "Each year I waited anxiously while it flowered, smothered in a profusin of pink and white blossoms, but never an apple," she told us. "Last year", she said, "I got my late husband's axe out of the garden shed, and carried it across the lawn to the apple tree while it was in full flower. I showed the axe to the tree and I said, 'I may be little and old, but if you don't have any apples on this year, I'll chop you down if it takes a month!'" At our end of the phone, we burst out laughing. "Don't laugh," she said primly. "I had so many apples on the tree last season I hardly knew what to do with them. What's more, I told the tree that the same rules applied this season. And the tree is already loaded again!" Her words ended in a tone of triumph.

SCIENCE COLD FUSION Investigations continue despite ridicule from Skeptics When I look in on the skeptics "discussion areas" on the national and international computer networks, I am constantly amazed at the "closed-mindedness" of much of the discussion. "Skeptics" pride themselves on not being "gullible", but I think they are the most gullible of us all! They actually believe that the Government, the military and the multi-national companies would tell us if they discovered cars that run on water, or antigravity etc etc. Recently the "Skeptics" have been ridiculing anyone who takes "Cold Fusion" seriously. I wonder then, what they think of this extract from Technology Forecasts & Technological Surveys, Vol. 22, No.9, pp 11. "Cold fusion work continues. Technology Forecasts & Technology Surveys reports that, in spite of allega tions that there is nothing to the observa tions, a number of labs continue to be intrigued by the unexplained parts of the phenomenon. They report that 50 U.S. labs and 100 labs in other countries are running tests, 60 groups in 10 countries have reported results, some of the groups
have claimed observation of more than one of the three generally accepted requirements for nuclear fusion, and some tests have produced as much as 600 times more heat than would be accounted for by the input of electrical power."
OXYGEN THERAPY Struggling for breath in the UK An article appeared in a recent edition of New Scientist 23 November 1991, with the tag line:- "Hyperbaric oxygen may improve the treatment of wounds and infections. But proof is lacking and no-one wants to pay for the research." After I read it, I wondered if the writer read his own article - it certainly contained glowing comments about the effects of oxygen on the human body, particularly under so-called "hyperbaric" conditions, ie oxygen gas delivered at high pressure. The article says "Reports of results achieved in uncontrolled studies of small groups of patients suggested that hyperbar ic oxygen may be beneficial in more than 100 conditions, including senile dementia and impotence." (See also the interview with Ed McCabe re: Oxygen Therapies on pages 21 to 25 of this issue).
CROP CIRCLES I NEW CIRCLES IN GERMANY. The Crop Circle mystery just won't go away, now it seems Germany is having a spurt of its own crop patterns. The following photo was published in the German magazine Der Spegiel, July ‘91 (see fig 1).
CROP CIRCLES II UK HOAXERS LINKED TO BRITISH INTELLIGENCE Those two English chaps Doug and Dave, appear to have hoaxed the media instead of the crop circles. Avid crop circle researchers have uncovered apparent links with the hoaxers and the UK military intelligence community. It would appear that a few too many crop circles appeared in close proximity to sensitive military installations, hence the need for reducing public interest in the phenomena. We are still wondering how Doug and Dave managed to penetrate some of the UK's best perimeter alarm systems to do a "fake circle" inside one of the Royal Family's summer residences. (Maybe they had extraterrestrial help?)

A new and innovative product came to my attention a couple of months ago, called the The Optron Stress Shield. At first glance the product looks like a pair of "trendoid" ski glasses, but with a difference. The Optron Stress Shield is a colour therapy device, which can affect the whole body. There are several other light and sound units on the market in Australia, but these often employ flickering lights (which I find annoying) and tones to alter brainwave activity to induce a relaxed state. They are not colour therapy units. With the Stress Shield, you are literally giving your eyes a "bath" of beautiful colour. There are three colours to select from, depending on what you require. Red: Increases physical energy, counteracts depression, and stimulates all the senses. It should be used in situations where a person feels lethargic, tired or depressed. In some cases people find the red more useful for relaxation. Yellow: Yellow should be used in situations where a person needs to be able to concentrate the mind on a problem, think clearly or be creative. It is also good in situations where there is nausea due to headache, or hangover. Green: Sedates, soothes, reduces anxiety, and in general acts as a physiological balancer. Ideal for situations where a person cannot relax, is restless in bed, cannot sleep, or suffers stress related headaches. It also has been found good for reducing high blood pressure. The colours do not flicker, and actually feel really nice. I recommend them in a darkened room (for best effect), together with some of Tony O'Connor's music (see ad on page 20) for about 15-20 minutes. If you are into colour therapy, I could not think of a better way to absorb colour, as the alternatives are coloured paper gazing, coloured TV screen gazing or visualisation etc. According to available research, light entering the eyes which is not used for visual functions, proceeds from the eyes to the

pineal. It is recognised that one of the two major zones of the hypothalamus, controls the sympathetic nervous system and stimulates hormone production (the other zone controls the parasympathetic nervous system and inhibits hormone production). Information received by the hypothalamus is used to regulate secretions of the pituitary gland, thereby significantly affecting the body's other major regulatory system, the endocrine system. (The endocrine system regulates the physical and chemical processes involved in the overall maintenance of life, as well as the varying rates of chemical reactions within each of our cells). MAGNETIC HEALTH IN AUSTRALIA. The man many refer to as "Mr Magnetism", or "Magnet Man" has been expanding the awareness of the benefits of magnetic fields on the human body. When Dick was 21, and a budding VFL player, a knee injury changed the course of his life. THE VITALIZER Last issue of Nexus, I made a brief mention of a new device which I had purchased, called The Vitalizer. I decided to get behind it an give it push, as it is a product I believe in, and I have been very very pleased with the results. I calculate my own fuel savings to average out at about 24%-25%, and I have received testimonials from other users claiming higher amounts of fuel saving. Apart from noticeable fuel economy, I straight away noticed an improvement in performance - I found myself going up the local hills in 4th gear, rather than 2nd or 3rd. Strangely enough, I really notice the difference when the car is fully loaded, and at high speed (simultaneously). Also, I had a new exhaust 'tail-end' fitted recently, and it clearly shows that only minute particles of carbon are being found on the inside of the exhaust. Well, so much for my testimonial - I have proved it works for my Mazda 323, and now I will present some further details for your information. How the Vitalizer works: The core of the Vitalizer consists of unique percentages of five dissimilar
metals. The core is encased within a copper housing that connects directly into the fuel line and treats the fuel before being mixed with the oxygen. The core has elongated ridges that promote a swirling action in the fuel flowing over the core, thereby creating an electrostatic reaction between the core and the fuel being treated.

The swirling fuel molecules, upon striking the dissimilar metals of the core, become polarized. Then, when the fuel is sent into the combustion chambers and evaporates, the electrostatically charged fuel molecules (now having the same polarity), tend to repel one another, causing them to be dispersed more thoroughly and evenly

throughout each combustion chamber. Consequently, when spark plugs fire, the more evenly dispersed fuel vapour burns far more completely and efficiently. This naturally produces greater downward force against the pistons, more power and greater fuel economy. In most cars, the gas vapour tends to disperse in the chamber in 'clumps', causing hot and cool spots. The end result of this is in nearly ever car to see ie carbon build up, and carbon monoxide and hydro-carbons being emitted. I have noted with interest other techniques used to generate a more complete combustion inside the chamber, ranging from treating the fuel chemically to increase its combustibility; passing the fuel through a magnetic field to achieve polarisation of fuel molecules; and even increasing the size of the spark used to ignite the fuel vapor. (This latter method worked very well too I might add). I am satisfied that if installed correctly, the Vitalizer will save car owners substantial fuel bills, it will increase car performance, and reduce carbon build up in the engine and exhausts. CROP CIRCLE EXPERT IN AUSTRALIA If you blinked you missed him. During the mad Mind, Body Spirit Festival season, Colin Andrews slipped into the country, did quite a few talks and media interviews and left again. Colin is the author and co-author of several best selling books on the subject, books I might add, do not try to draw too many conclusions about the causes of the mysterious formations, now appearing all over the world. I had the honour of meeting him at my stall during the Sydney Mind Body and Spirit Festival in November, where he informed me that he had such a pleasant time in Australia, that he would be returning soon. DAVID ASH DOWN UNDER Another fascinating chap travelling and lecturing around the east coast of Australia is David Ash. David is a person who, when discussing his favourite subjects, reminds me of John Cleese. Seriously though, if you have the opportunity to hear him talk, don't miss it. ROBERT MORNING SKY One of the most remarkable people I have ever met is Robert Morning Sky.
Robert Morning Sky has two sides - on one side he is an accomplished American Indian dancer and artist, and on the other Robert Morning Sky contains the ancient knowledge of generations of Hopi Indian elders. He originally came out to to Australia to attend one or more of the festivals held each summer, the Maleny Folk Festival being one of these. Whilst in Australia, he came across some of the more "radical" UFO information circulating the country these days. I say radical in the sense that Bill Cooper, John Lear etc are considered radical by "orthodox" UFO researchers. Robert found himself being asked questions relating to aliens, UFO etc during his talk circles at Maleny Festival, and has since found himself bombarded with both questions and other information. The thing I found most incredible about speaking with this full-blood Indian Medicine Man, is that he spoke of the presence of "aliens" in the USA as if they had been here all along! What is more, is that he had never read a UFO magazine, been to a UFO conference, or had even heard of the main UFO lecturers, yet he is saying the same things as some of them. He has indicated his availability whilst remaining in Australia to share his information regarding the presence of the "greys" and the "blues" on this planet, their relationship with the US Government, and the knowledge he has learned on this subject from generations of Hopi elders. I have to say that I was starting to wonder if the whole "grey" alien scenario was just hype, now I have to admit it, I am convinced of their presence, and of the interesting future possibilities they pose. ROSICRUCIAN GRAND MASTER IN AUSTRALIA The Grand Master of the Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis is visiting Australia this February, on a three state visit. One would envisage the bearer of such a title to be a wise old sage, but the Grand Master of the Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis is a woman named Kristie Knutson. Interesting note: I asked Jenny Randles during the UFO Conference in Sydney just what percentage of sightings she thought were reported. The answer was 10%. Personally, I think it is even less than that. I get a lot of people tell me of their sightings or experiences, and the first thing I ask them is - did you report it to anyone. No-one I have spoken to has ever reported their experience, many not even to their own family! Back to the report: Data from Paul Ferrughel of the National Sighting Research Centre indicates that you are most likely to see a UFO between 9 and 10pm during January. For the five year period of 1986-90, January, followed closely by October, was the peak month. June was by far the lull month, with February, March, April, May and December being strong months.
THE HUMAN LIGHTNING ROD Roy Cleveland Sullivan, a retired forest ranger from Waynesboro, Virginia, was known as the Human Lightning Rod because he had been struck by lightning seven times in the course of his thirty-six year career. The first strike in ’42 caused the loss of a big toenail. Twenty seven years later a second bolt of lightning burned his eyebrows off. The following year, in 1970, a third bolt seared his left shoulder. In 1972, after a fourth bolt set his hair on fire, he began carrying a carton of water around with him in his car. On August 7th, 1973, he was driving when a bolt of lightning came out of a small low lying cloud, hit him on the head through his hat, set his hair on fire again, knocked him ten feet out of his car, went through both legs, and knocked his shoe off. Sullivan poured the water over his head to cool off. On June 5, 1976 Sullivan was struck for

the sixth time, hurting his ankle. The seventh blow from above hit Sullivan on June 25, 1977, while he was fishing. He required hospitalisation for stomach and chest burns on that occasion. Though he was never able to explain his peculiar attraction for lightning, Sullivan once said that he could actually see the bolts as they headed for him. Sullivan took his own life at 3am on the morning of September 28th, 1983. Two of his burned Ranger hats now reside in Guinness World Exhibit Halls in New York City, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. i) The Exploding Cat Peppi, a cat adored and spoiled for eight years at Anmer Lodge old folks' home in Stanmore, London, went for his usual nap on a chair in the day lounge. "There was a terrific bang and a flash and he flew several feet into the air", said Mrs Irene McSweeney, the deputy. Some believed Peppi was enveloped in a 'blue flame'. Firemen, called to investigate, could find no obvious cause for the blast, and blamed "a build up of static on the cat's fur." If that is so, why hadn't it happened before?
ii) Raining Frogs Falls of pink frogs on the Gloucestershire town of Stroud were recently reported. The original report appeared on 24th October 1987 (Daily Mirror and Daily Star), saying that an unnamed elderly lady had reported to the Gloucestershire Trust for Nature Conservation (GTNC) that 'tiny rose-coloured frogs' had fallen during recent torrential rain.
iii) A Bomb out of Time A man working in his garden in Athelstan Rd, Bittern, near Southhampton, looked up to see a five-foot cylinder on an unopened parachute and trailing wires
dropping out of the clear sky. Edward Garnham said: 'It exploded twice in mid-air, dived towards my house and hit the ground, where it exploded in flames, wrecking my garden and greenhouse.' Police investigation established that it was a wartime defence device, of the 'aerial mine' sort and made in 1942. Where had it come from? Well, wherever it came from, it had been there since it was fired into the air between 1942 and 1945. No one will ever know.
iv) Japanese Treasure Troves For the second time in 5 days, a man hunting for bamboo shoots found a bag containing 100m yen ($1,000,000) in the same bamboo thicket near Tokyo. The total haul, according to the Guardian, was over $2 million. The money turned out to belong to Kazuyasu Noguchi, a company president. Rather than pay tax he had left the money in the bamboos hoping that whoever picked it up would donate it to charity!
v) Coffin Coma When a tyre burst in 1977, the hearse carrying Gerry Allison to his funeral on the outskirts of Los Angeles overturned and crashed tail-first into the front window of a rival undertaker's parlour. The hearse doors burst open and flung the coffin through the window. Bystanders were astonished to see Allison, dressed in white burial robes, stepping out of the shattered glass. The crash had brought him out of a coma which doctors had mistaken for death.
vi) You wooden believe it! Occasionally, someone splits open a tree and finds a frog, or even a fish, inside. Of course it's impossible, but it does happen... *December 21, 1865: Angus MacDonald cut down a white ash tree and on splitting it found a live frog embedded in the wood. The tree was about 45cm in diameter,a and perfectly sound; the cavity in which the frog had been enclosed appeared as if carved out to hold the creature. * May 30, 1905: A toad quickly died after its liberation from an oak tree split open by fellers in Norfolk, UK.

THE TWILIGHT ZONE *October, 1969: Farmer Heino Seppi was transporting lumber from the woods of Yrjo Knato, near Sikasalo, in the Pallonova region of western Finland. The trees had been felled the previous winter and were cut into lengths, each a few metres long. When Heino split an aspen log he found its middle rotten, forming a hollow in which he discovered a dried fish over 40cm long. It resembled an unusually large perch, and there was no clue as to how it got there. All who saw the evidence were baffled.
vii) Lobsters in the Pants Boston shoplifter, Winston Treadway, learned the hard way, not to go shoving lobsters down your pants, especially live ones. The eager shoplifter had already amassed a quantity of stolen food in a trawl around an out-of-the-way supermarket when he spotted a tank full of live seafood. Plucking two lobsters from the water, he stashed them in his underwear, and sprinted for the exit - only to pull up short in a nearby alley as the enraged crustacea clamped their claws around his genitals. "When we saw him he was trying to prise the claws off. He was purple as an aubergine when we got to him," said police. Having accosted the thief, the cops called for pliers to remove the lobsters. Doctors who confirmed that that Treadway had inadvertently performed a do-it-yourself vasectomy later told him he might never father children.
viii) A Bird in the Pants ... Altogether more ambitions was Thomas Waddell, a Baltimore man five dead ones stuffed down his pants. Waddell aroused the suspicions of police officer Ronald Pettie while in process of stealing the pigeons, valued at $300, from neighbour John Styron. "He looked like the Michelin man. There were feathers all over the place," Pettie explained.
ix) Twists of Fortune Bill Helko, 38, was over the moon when he got the winning number in a California lottery - the first prize was $1,000,000-. He ordered a Porsche, booked a family holiday in Hawaii and had a champagne dinner
with his wife and friends at a swish Hollywood restaurant. When he went to collect his winnings he found that 9097 others also had won first prize, and his share of the Jackpot was only $100-.
x) More Bad Luck • Ianni and Anna Deluca had to scrimp for 30 years to pay the mortgage on their house in suburban Milan. After the last payment they held a party and threw the mortgage papers into the fire, which then got out of control and burned the house down. There was no insurance: that had been sacrificed to meet all those payments. • Convicted murderer Michael Godwin, 28, avoided the electric chair in Columbia, South Carolina, when his sentence was reduced to life on appeal. He electrocuted himself when he bit through a wire mending the headphones on his tv, while sitting naked on the metal commode in his cell.
xi) Returning Eyesight Joan Hornby, of Walney Island, Cumbria, had been blind since she was six months old. At the age of 18 she accidentally stepped into a hot bath before running any cold water into it. She gave a yell and found that she could see.
xii) Swallowed Watches Brian Potter's uncle Dennis owned a small farm One day a cow nuzzled against his stomach, took his fob-chain in his mouth and swallowed it, watch and all. Later that year (which year is unspecified) the farmer died. Several summers later Brian found the watch, next a fresh cow pat. It was still going, though it was four hours slow.
The woman who was suffering mild exposure, insisted the date was April 15th, 1912, and that her name was Winnie Coutts. It is reported that she was carrying a boarding pass for the Titanic also. A psychiatrist named Dr. Jarle Haaland says "All she remembers about the sinking is someone pounding on her cabin door and telling her to get out. The next thing she knew she was being lifted off the iceberg by the crew of the Fosshagen. She keeps asking to see her family back in Southhampton, but they're all dead." Apparently marine authorities upon checking the original Titanic records, found that a Mrs W. Coutts had indeed been aboard the ship when it went down.
"CURSE" CLAIMS ANOTHER EARL Legend has it that the aristocratic English family, the Cravens, are cursed! A recent car crash which killed the eighth Earl of Craven on the Eastbourne seafront in early September has police baffled. Simon Craven, 28, died when his car crashed into a row of parked cars. Legend has it the Cravens were cursed approx 300 years ago, by a woman who claimed the lord of the manor got her daughter pregnant. She condemned all of the baron's successors to a violent and premature death when he refused to marry. Strangely enough, since then, all the male descendants of the line have died young. Simon's 14 month old son, Benjamin, is expected to be the ninth Earl of Craven.
A TITANIC SURVIVOR? This one is published in the hopes that someone can furnish more on this story. The European News Service claims a 29 year old woman has been rescued from an iceberg in the north Atlantic - dressed in early 20th century clothing, and claiming she's from the Titanic. A Norwegian fishing trawler spotted the woman on a floating iceberg, about 300km south west of Iceland.

We all know that Nostradamus's quatrains are notoriously difficult to interpret, and indeed often only become 'apparent' after the predicted event has occurred. Not much use to anyone really. But, in this book, one of the authors claims to have devised a numerical decoding system which is outlined in the book. It makes very interesting reading indeed, and provides exact dates, and locations for the next crucial years ahead. The book is attractively laid out, and is a must for Nostradamus fans everywhere. STRANGER AT THE PENTAGON Dr. Frank E. Stranges Publ: Inner Light Publications Dist: Crystal Cascade RRP: $19.95 This book was first published in 1967. It has a forward written by the nephew of Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd, - Harley Andrew Byrd. While Harley Byrd was working in a high security position in the Pentagon, he learned of a meeting between the then US President (Eisenhower), the Vice President (Nixon) and a being claiming it was from outer space, named Valiant Thor. This book is an interesting account of the author's own interactions with this being, whilst it was on VIP status with the Pentagon, for a period lasting nearly 3 years. The photos of this strange being portray him as a good looking human, dressed in appropriate late '50s gear. I found the book very interesting, and was especially fascinated by the relationship between the "Men-In-Black" and this alien, where the M.I.B's are portrayed as unfriendly etc.
Definitely worth a read if you're interested in all this.

The authors have arrived at some interesting conclusions, stemming from a wide range of research topics such as Vortexes, UFOs, Space/Time Continuum, Other Dimensions, Lives after Death, and God. It is not easy to explain the unexplained through our somewhat limited perception, especially that defined by orthodox science, but in this book, the authors have scored well.

ALL ABOUT RADIATION
I found this a remarkable book in the sense that it contains clear and concise information on all aspects of radiation, from what it actually is, to how to protect your health if exposed to radiation etc. Radiation is something we are all exposed to, from the suns rays to minute atomic fallout from bomb tests and reactors. It is something we have to live with, so it is a good idea to get educated about it. For example, I was interested to learn of a revolt by American physicists when they learned that the Atom was going to be split for warfare purposes. Full of excellent info and titbits.

It is a book written in conjunction with other experts, covering every aspect of potential toxic chemical exposure in the home, child care centre, kindergarten, school, work environment, food etc, and shows how we can protect our family from these health hazards. The book goes through the important things for pregnancy, including diet, birth and caring for the baby. It describes how

the immune system works and how it can be strengthened. It describes all the toxic chemicals and other hazards that could be encountered and what alternatives we can use in the home. It describes alternatives to drugs for many problems and diseases. It describes good items and products to use that are safe for babies, including a shopping list, and where to obtain many of the products. All in all - thoroughly recommended!
UNDERGROUND ALIEN BASES By: Commander X Publ: Abelard Publications, USA Dist: Crystal Cascade RRP: $19.95 After reading the whole book, which was fascinating I must say, I am still none the wiser as to who or what Commander X is. The book appears to be a compilation of many accounts, references and stories and to mystery underground tunnels, bases, etc. And boy, there are some beauties too. Unfortunately for us Aussies, all the underground places mentioned are in the US, South America or Europe. They left us off the map once again - but fear not, Nexus has its own Underground Mysteries story in the "tube". If you are interested in Hollow Earth, Atlantis, or Alien underground bases, put this book on your list.

When you hear the thoughts of the local farmers, you can't help but think wow! The video also presents some interesting scientific research showing the changes in the crystaline structure of the plants taken from inside some of the circles. The video is finished by glorious footage of the patterns accompanied by some very nice music, which I believe is also available on cassette.

As I said in a previous review for his last album, Mariner, Tony O'Connor's music stands out from the plethora of synthesised pan pipes abounding the new age stores these days. This new recording features that special blend of pan flute and warm orchestral arrangements, once again creating magnificent blend of instrumental magic. It also introduces dynamic piano and acoustic guitar.
ISHMARA by Separate Reality Prod: Ark Soundwaves, UK. RRP: $15.00 This is the music accompanying from the video on Crop Circles by Colin Andrews. I must admit, that while watching the video, I did think to myself - "Gee, this music's nice", but then I was pretty absorbed by the commentary most of time. At the end of the video is a really nice piece of aerial footage of the formations, accompanied by appropriate music - and this is it. The other feature of interest is the strange sounds recorded in and around the circles (refer to Nexus Vol.2, #3). I understand that research is still going on into the nature and cause of these unusual noised, which are also found on the tape.
RELAX WITH THE CLASSICS Volume Five - Pianissimo Prod: The Lind Institute, CA, USA Dist: New Age Media At first glance you may be forgiven for thinking that this is one of those tapes advertised at 2.00 in the mornings on TV. But it is not. The music chosen by the Lind Inst., has a perceptible tempo of 50 to 70 beats per minute and varies in key pitch, which they claim is a frequency that helps alleviate stress in the body. Apparently, the music is so successful that dentists and doctors, therapist, students and others use it. On the music side, you can hear over an hours worth, which includes:Tchaikowsky, Debussy, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Bach, Ilyinsky, Grieg, Scarlatti, Schutt, Kalinnikov and Ravel.
