Kec. City,

The building located at the intersection of Surapati Street and Jalaprang Street faces design challenges to appear attractive and interact well with its surroundings. Its strategic position at the end of the road demands a striking facade to leave a positive impression on visitors and the community. Additionally, considerations must be given to the interaction with the road intersection, the safety of road users, and efficient use of space to ensure the building's continued functionality.

Utilizing the surrounding space, such as adding a garden or open area, can enhance visual appeal and comfort. Collaboration with local artists can introduce unique elements of art and culture, while thoughtful access and parking arrangements can improve the building's functionality at the street intersection. With a holistic approach, this building can become an attractive landmark that positively contributes to its surrounding environment. 07 | portfolio

Solar Analysis Study

The analysis results indicate that the relative wind speed is of moderate strength, offering an opportunity to utilize it as a source of natural ventilation in building design. An effective approach in this regard is to strategically place openings to enhance air circulation within the building. The use of a cross-ventilation system, where outside air enters through openings on one side of the building and exits through openings on the opposite side, can be optimally employed to maximize the flow of fresh air. By adjusting the design of openings such as windows, roof ventilation, or gaps in the walls, the building can harness the moderately strong wind speed to create a comfortable and healthy indoor environment. The use of these effective openings can reduce reliance on mechanical air conditioning systems, providing a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution. Additionally, the application of these principles can enhance the indoor air quality, creating a better environment for occupants.

KOLAT initially served as a military training command center, functioning as a gathering place for preparation and training, as well as a mentoring site. However, to meet the operational cost needs (maintenance expenses) of the KOLAT area, the function of the area need to be transformed into a flexible space that caters to contemporary tourism facilities, providing attraction for both local and non-local communities to visit. The land conditions of the area fall under the ownership of the Perhutani Forestry Service, which has been leased to the military (Collaboration). Consequently, the planned buildings are semipermanent structures, ensuring ease of disassembly or deconstruction if the leased land needs to be returned to its original ownership at any time. Furthermore, efforts are made to maintain the original contour of the land as much as possible, minimizing excessive cut and fill operations that could compromise the natural condition of the area.

Facilities My contribution involved transforming the conceptual ideas into tangible 3D representations, ensuring the coherence of the Scandinavian and Neo-Vernacular architectural styles throughout the different structures. The design approach aimed to marry the simplicity and functionality of Scandinavian design with the cultural and contextual richness of Neo-Vernacular architecture. The result is a set of 3D renderings that not only showcase the envisioned structures but also embody the harmonious fusion of these distinctive architectural styles. This work is a testament to my proficiency in translating conceptual designs into visually compelling and contextually relevant architectural representations.

This is a freelance project that i have worked on, where my responsibility included creating schematic drawings for the floor plan, elevations, sections, and animations. This project stemmed from the owner's desire to undergo a total renovation of their old structure by completely transforming its layout and design. Starting with understanding the owner's vision, I produced schematic floor plans to reconfigure the main spaces. Elevations and sections were then crafted to provide detailed views of the desired architectural transformation. Emphasizing the significance of the interior concept, I generated schematics illustrating ideas for the new interior. As the culmination of this project, I created dynamic animations, visualizing comprehensive changes and providing a lively depiction of the new design potential for the building.

Engaging in a collaborative project, I would like to share my experience working on a fictitious initiative designed to familiarize students with the creation of detailed floor plans, elevations, and sections for a type 21 house. This project also involved calculating the budgetary considerations until the completion of the construction. In this collaboration, I partnered with another individual, and together we contributed to assembling comprehensive drawings, ensuring that every design aspect was accurately and professionally represented. The project demanded intensive involvement in the preparation of technical drawings and cost analysis, providing valuable experience in applying theoretical knowledge to practical contexts.

I would like to share my valuable experience in a collaborative project I worked on. This project was part of the Building Physics II course, where we were challenged to design an ideal auditorium space. The primary focus of this project was to understand the principles of room acoustics and create visual comfort for the audience. As a part of the collaborative team, I contributed to developing the design concept, considering both acoustic and aesthetic aspects to create a space that is not only visually appealing but also optimal in terms of acoustics. This project provided an opportunity to directly apply building physics knowledge in designing a public space that seamlessly integrates beauty and functionality.

Microlibrary is a small library facility accessible to the community. The first example of a Microlibrary can be found in Taman Bima, Bandung. In its design, Microlibrary utilizes an architectural concept that optimizes land use for various functions. The library is located on the second floor, and the staircase can be used as an additional seating area. Building analysis using solar study Revit and CFD simulation was conducted to analyze the shading and wind flow velocity in the Microlibrary Bima building.

ANALYSIS WIND FLOW SIMULATION (Computational Fluid Dynamics)

Shading at 10:00 AM, May 10, 2023. At 10:00, the morning light enters optimally with minimal solar heat radiation, allowing for the use of natural lighting, and the solar heat radiation that enters will pass through the polycarbonate panels.

Shading at 14:00 (2:00 PM), May 10, 2023. The results of the wind speed simulation analysis show that the average vertical wind speed (Vz) increases but slows down when approaching the building mass due to the influence of frictional forces and resistance from the building. Meanwhile, the average horizontal wind speed (Vy) tends to be stable with an eastward direction but experiences slowing down when interacting with the building mass. In addition, the average air pressure is initially high but undergoes a drastic decrease with the changes in wind speed and direction.

At 14:00, there are shadows that can affect the incoming light, but with the appropriate use of polycarbonate panels to reduce solar heat radiation, ensuring that natural lighting remains optimal.

Designing Public Park as Habitat Service:

Coexistence of Human-Urban Wildlife Function

Public Park

Location

Site Area

1 Ha | 10.000 m2

In the Indonesia Landscape Design Student Competition (ILDSC), I had the opportunity to participate in a captivating collaborative project. With the Terms of Reference (TOR) as a guide in the competition, our design focus was to create a space that not only provides comfort for public activities but also functions as a habitat for urban wildlife, maintaining a rich biodiversity. Urbanization often poses a threat to the species of animals and plants in urban environments. Many green areas have been replaced by concrete structures, prompting migration and even the extinction of some species. We recognized the importance of rebuilding a balanced ecosystem between humans and other living beings. In this site design, we ensured that the resulting space is not only comfortable for humans but also capable of sustainable integration with specific species of animals and plants, creating a balanced environment even in the heart of the city.
