Our Programme

Our programme aims to develop children's 'Skills for Life'. It helps them grow into confident adults, that understand and enjoy the importance of leading healthy active lifestyles.

At your first class, you will have experienced a fraction of the potential that Tumble Tots has to offer your child in the future.

Today’s equipment is only a small part of the apparatus and the layout is changed every two weeks (six weeks for 6 MonthsWalking).

This gives us the opportunity to concentrate on different skills and to intensify the challenges as the children develop within the programme.

Age Groups:

 6 Months - Walking

 Walking - 2 Years

 2 - 3 Years

 3 Years - School Age

 Gymbobs (School Age - 7 Years)

The basic philosophy is to ‘build selfconfidence’ through the development of the child’s physical learning. This is achieved by focusing on four important areas:

 General motor skills

 Social awareness

 Self assurance

 Self discipline

They gain this through:

 A structured development programme

 Ongoing challenges

 A fun and happy atmosphere

 Well trained and enthusiastic staff

 A safe environment

Top Tips in the Classes

 When your child receives their membership pack, encourage them to wear their t-shirt in classes to feel part of the club!

 Before you leave and in the case of severe weather conditions, please check your text messages, emails, our website or Facebook page for closures.

 Please dress children in suitable clothing to allow for better movement and avoid jewellery, dummies or any clothing that can catch on the equipment or cause injury.

 Barefoot is best (and safest) for children as this helps with their development. Grownups can wear shoes if they aren’t high heels or heavy boots as these can hurt small fingers or toes.

 Please take your child to the toilet before classes begin to save interruption (this is especially important for the over 3’s classes).

 If you need to bring a sibling along to class, please be aware that they are unable to participate or play on the equipment as they will not be covered by insurance. We recommend bringing something to occupy them such as a book or colouring.

 Make sure you arrive in plenty of time and register your child at the desk.

 Parents are fully responsible for their children in the under 3’s classes. We ask that you work directly with your child, encouraging and assisting where necessary. Support your child by holding the back of their T-Shirt so their hands are free for climbing and to aid balance.

 In the over 3’s classes, grown-ups are not actively involved but must always remain on the premises.

 Children are asked not to eat or drink on the equipment but if they need refreshments, you are welcome to take them to the waiting area.

 Please do not take any photographs or videos during the classes and refrain from using mobile phones so your child has your full attention.

 Do not let children onto the equipment before or after classes. Please move to the waiting area so we can set-up safely for the next class.

Objectives & Benefits

Our progressive play programme is designed to develop your child’s physical skills. Using bespoke colourful equipment, we focus on agility, balance, climbing and co-ordination, which enhances brain development and builds confidence.

Every session is supervised by our amazing specially trained staff, getting the best out of each child. Up until 3 years, grown-ups participate as well so that parents, carers and even grandparents can spend time with little ones as they develop.

The journey begins for babies from 6 months old who can sit up unaided. Here’s how our classes break down:

6 Months – Walking

Babies explore the equipment in a happy and relaxed environment. This enhances their brain development and helps them to reach key milestones such as crawling, cruising and walking, taking them onto the next class.

Walking – 2 Years

Confidently walking toddlers are now introduced to an exciting circuit of equipment as well as hand held co-ordination activities, developing their fine motor skills. ‘Circle Time’ helps language development through rhymes and action songs.

2 – 3 Years

Working together in small groups, little ones are introduced to stations with more challenging equipment to refine their agility, balance and climbing skills. Following instructions and learning to take turns develops their listening and social skills, as well as confidence.

3 Years – School Age*

Children now take part independently without their grownup, putting into practice their skills for life. Our staff challenge each child individually to their full potential, preparing them for school, physically, socially and mentally.

Gymbobs (School Age – 7 Years)*

Gymbobs is the pinnacle class of Tumble Tots, bringing together everything children have learnt so far! Using challenging equipment setups, relay races, team games and warm-up exercises, Gymbobs is a perfect addition to a child’s school P.E. provision.

*For the 3 Years – School Age and Gymbobs (School Age – 7 Years) classes, parents must remain on site.

Focus on the 6 Months to Walking Classes

Here are 10 key benefits your child will experience as they begin their Tumble Tots journey

1. Physical

Whether your Tumble Tot is sitting up unaided, starting to crawl, or is becoming a confident walker, our class environment provides opportunities to develop each physical skill at an individual pace.

The equipment in our classes is extremely versatile and we work with you and your Tumble Tot to not only suggest activities depending on the physical capabilities of your baby, but we also share insight into the short-term and long-term benefits of the activity and continue to look for ways to progress and challenge each Tumble Tot.

3. Bonding

2. Social

Interacting with other Tumble Tots from an early age will help develop your babies social and interaction skills. Babies interact with each other in a way that we, as adults, find it hard to understand.

They enjoy gazing, touching and playing with each other and our environment helps to facilitate this in many different ways. By engaging regularly with other Tumble Tots, learning about each other and the world around them, they, and you, will have the opportunity to build relationships which can have far reaching benefits for all involved.

The notion of bonding with your baby, for some, can be natural, for others it takes a little time, and during our 6 Months – Walking class we want to offer a happy, caring and safe environment for you and your baby to strengthen your bond together.

We know that when babies are happy, this will help with their brain growth and development, spending happy moments within our class environment will contribute towards this and also your happiness as a new parent too.

12

4. Cognitive

During the first year of a baby’s life 60% of brain development occurs. This is a huge part of a Tumble Tots brain development and our 6 Months – Walking class helps to enrich both this development and their ongoing cognitive skills.

To begin, we offer opportunities for your Tumble Tot to initially, reach and grasp, which will stimulate both sides of their brains, a skill necessary to progress to crawling and climbing. Then, as they continue grow and develop, we offer opportunities to other experiences such as building a sense of object permanence, all of which contributes to the ongoing cognitive development of your baby.

5. Sensory

From a designated Sensory Corner, to exploring our unique textured, colourful equipment and exposure to different, carefully selected action songs during Circle Times, babies have endless opportunities to engage in sensory play during the 6 Months –Walking Class.

Rich and playful experiences are key to the development as well as learning processes of a Tumble Tot. Sensory experiences are crucial for teaching brain cells their jobs, which is imperative as your baby continues through their formative years.

6. Tummy Time

Current guidance suggests that babies should be spending 30 minutes every day on their tummies and should be done for very short periods of time.

During each 6 Months – Walking class, babies are given opportunities to engage in various tummy time activities, most of which encourage the baby’s neck to be angled so that they are still able to observe the environment around them.

And more importantly, each of our Tummy Time activities aim to ensure that the Tumble Tot is happy and maintaining eye contact throughout.

Our Mini Drops range of supplements have been formulated to give nutritional support through supplements including Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Omega 3. 7. Reassurance & Support

Our team strives to reassure both you and your Tumble Tot throughout your time in the 6 Months – Walking Class. We feel that the reassurance and support we are able to offer truly helps with building confidence, not only for each Tumble Tot but, also for their grown-ups too.

Whether it’s reassurance about your Tumble Tots’ development or providing the support to take their first steps, we pride ourselves on delivering a friendly, supportive and informative approach to your baby’s development.

9. Movement Memory

8. Language

We know that from six months, a baby will start to recognise the use of certain words and exposure to a rich bank of language is key to strengthening language skills needed in later years.

Our carefully constructed Circle Times expose Tumble Tots to rhymes and action songs and we encourage grownups to maintain eye contact throughout each rhyme. This not only helps to continue strengthening the bond between you and your Tumble Tot, but in addition, language skills can be developed by seeing the movement of your mouth.

It is important to build a Tumble Tot’s movement memory from infancy as this will help shape and form their movement decisions as they grow, develop and journey through not only their Tumble Tot journey, but also through their early years development.

One of the key ways in which the 6 Months – Walking Class aims to do this, is by building a baby’s movement memory as they climb. Our trained staff work together with you and your baby to provide various opportunities for your Tumble Tot to climb safely, whether it be on our Trestles or our softer foam equipment.

10. Stepping stone to a Tumble Tots Journey!

Attending the 6 Months – Walking Class begins a Tumble Tots journey into our progressive programme.

As your Tumble Tot makes their way through our specific classes, they will continue to build and strengthen their overall, ongoing development and truly give them skills for life!

STEAMing AHEAD

STEAM activities offer numerous benefits that can positively impact children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) play prompts children to ask questions, explore, and seek answers, fostering a natural curiosity about the world around them. Through hands-on experimentation and exploration, children learn to think critically, solve problems, and make connections between concepts, laying the foundation for future learning.

Young children are naturally curious and want to explore their surroundings – this is the perfect starting point for developing their STEAM skills. As a parent, you can play an essential role in supporting your children to develop these abilities.

Through everyday play, you can encourage your child to talk about what they see and experience. This will help them to engage more with their learning and allow them to appreciate more fully everything that is around them.

This also provides opportunities for your children to express themselves creatively, whether through art, building, or designing, cultivating innovation and original thinking.

What role can you play?

Karen Brunyee at STEM Learning suggests that when your child notices something, it gives you the opportunity to discuss what they have observed:

Can they notice the details in the objects they are looking at and describe them in detail?

 What is different?

 What is the same?

 How are they moving?

After exploring something, children might be able to hypothesize about how it might respond in the future. For example:

 What do they see when dropping a stone in a puddle?

17

 What do they predict will happen if we drop a larger stone?

They can then have a go and test their predictions. By doing this, they are performing simple experiments and having fun at the same time. Can they describe what it is they are seeing and can they explain this to you?

Learning through everyday tasks

Children will often count as a rhyme up to ten and back, but do they understand that each number stands for one thing/object? Ask your children to count the plates at dinner time or fetch three oranges at the supermarket.

Can they share the sweets out equally? Or build a tower that is ten blocks high? All of these activities help to consolidate the one-to-one correspondence needed for early mathematical understanding.

Find something that interests them. The key to developing any skill is to follow the interests of the child and then find the learning in any situation. Playing with a magnetic fishing game can lead to an exploration of magnetic effect, what does it ‘stick’ to? What can we pull along with our magnets?

When building sand castles at the beach, ask your child to build the tallest castle:

 Is it better to have wet or dry sand?

 How many shells can you decorate your castle with?

 How deep does the moat need to be to get water from the sea without having to bring a bucket from the water?

There are so many opportunities to support your children and develop these crucial life skills, whilst still having fun! If you are looking for inspiration,

STEM Learning’s primary science resource packages are a useful starting point – visit www.stem.org.uk/primary-science

Many STEAM activities also involve collaboration and teamwork, as children work together to solve problems, share ideas, and complete projects, fostering important social skills and cooperation.

Engaging in STEAM activities helps children develop a growth mindset, understanding that intelligence and abilities can be developed through effort, practice, and learning from mistakes. By making learning fun, hands-on, and relevant to children's interests and experiences, STEAM activities can instil a lifelong love of learning and curiosity about the world around them.

STEM Learning Fun!

There are so many options in our range to get children excited and engaged in STEM learning and Learning Resources is also the go-to brand for science tools made for young children. The British Science Association (BSA)

In fact, the British Science Association (BSA) has launched a new early years resource, ‘Earth and beyond’, to help children aged 3-5 discover a love of science from a young age. Violet Yang at the BSA tell us more….

For parents and early years education practitioners, it’s essential to have the right resources to engage young children, and ensure they are given opportunities to expand their minds and develop their skills.

To help those working with little ones unlock the benefits of STEAM learning, the BSA has launched its first CREST Awards activity pack aimed at children aged 3-5 years old. The eight challenges in the pack have been designed to inspire the children to better understand and explore the world, to develop a love of science from an early age, and to unlock the learning potential essential for their growth. They'll develop skills including:

 communication (listening, speaking)

 expressing art and design (being expressive, creating with materials)

 literacy (reading, writing)

 maths (numerical patterns)

 personal and physical development (managing self, building relations, motor skills)

The BSA’s CREST Star for early years resource gives children the opportunity to earn a CREST Award. To earn the Award they’ll need to complete all eight challenges – such as ‘Galactic gardeners’, which asks children to think about how to grow food on Earth and the Moon – and prompts them to think about solving real-world problems. Once the child completes all eight activities, the relevant adult can register their learning process and request their CREST Award certificate, which serves to build children’s confidence and showcase their achievement.

Each activity is designed to take 45-60 minutes to complete. The pack includes instructions and advice for parents and early years education practitioners to help them support the children as they complete the activities. It also comes with a presentation deck for children, demonstration videos, and a range of supporting learning documents.

Along with building confidence, taking part in CREST activities allows children to meet several Early Learning Goals. For example, ‘Lunar landers’ has children thinking about how astronauts, once they’ve flown in a rocket up to the Moon, might land safely on the surface. Using classroom supplies (and help from adults) they’ll build a landing device which can then be tested on a homemade ‘lunar surface’. This activity encourages

children to develop listening and understanding skills, speaking skills, artistic expression and fine motor skills, among others.

Overall, introducing young children to STEAM activities not only prepares them for future academic success but also nurtures their natural curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving abilities, laying the groundwork for lifelong learning and success. By engaging children in this type of learning, we can provide positive pathways that will lead them to both thrive throughout their academic lives and to build strong social and emotional capital that will help them flourish as individuals.

National Activity Week 2023 Review

Celebrating the ABCs of Movement

For last year’s Tumble Tots National Children’s Activity Week, we wanted to get children moving more every day! Our aim was to raise awareness of the importance of the ABCs of Movement!

During the week, Tumble Tots members were given the chance to take part in all sorts of different activities and exercises to help them build confidence during their Tumble Tots class, whilst really focusing on the ABCs of movement.

The ABCs of movement refer to four basic capacities that support human movement: agility, balance, coordination, and not to forget climbing! All four are essential to developing the fundamental movement skills of each human being.

Fundamental movement skills (FMS) are the basic movements traditionally associated with human physical activity. The most common FMS include skills such as running, jumping, throwing, catching, climbing, skipping, and hopping.

AAll about Agility!

Whether your Tumble Tot is crawling, rolling, or jumping, these are all movements akin to Agility and your Tumble Tots begin refining their Agility skills as soon as they roll for the very first time.

The Agility skills your Tumble Tots develop will help them change their position and/or direction of travel quickly. They may be required to jump from a Block and then crawl through a Tunnel in quick succession. Building their skills will help this succession become more refined as they develop and make their way through their Tumble Tot journey.

23

BBrilliant Balance!

Balancing can be super tricky but essential for travelling, climbing and co-ordination and can be classed as either Dynamic Balance or Static Balance.

 Dynamic Balance requires Tumble Tots to perform movements whilst standing or stable. So, whilst Tumble Tots are “simply” travelling across a Plank, they are engaging their Dynamic Balancing Skills and engaging a high refinement of balancing skills.

 Static Balance requires Tumble Tots to hold a specific position whilst standing still. Sometimes this is trickier than Dynamic Balance, especially when using one of our very wobbly Wobble Boards or maybe a little earlier when we “Freeze” after a big jump!

And don’t forget, to assist with your Tumble Tots Balancing Skills, encourage them to use their “Aeroplane Arms” (arms out straight in line with their shoulders) whenever they are balancing, as this is super helpful in assisting with their postural control.

CCareful Co-ordination!

Co-ordination is fundamentally being able to move our bodies to where we want it to be, as well as developing Fine Motor Skills. Of all the Fundamental Movement Skills, co-ordination is super important and required for many aspects of development, not just physical. Developing good Co-ordination Skills will eventually help to support their communication abilities including reading and writing.

In our classes, all Tumble Tots and Gymbobs have the opportunity to engage in Co-ordination play, whether it be as a directed physical activity or as part a sequence of equipment. We have a vast range of Co-ordination equipment that is used in our classes, from Bean Bags to Springboards.

And, with repetitive learning at the heart of our learning objectives, Tumble Tots and Gymbobs will have endless ways to build and strengthen their Co-ordination abilities.

We couldn't forget climbing!

Now we couldn’t promote the ABCs of Movement without focusing on Climbing too, after all it makes up such a significant part of all our classes. From the moment your Tumble Tot can crawl in the 6 Months – Walking Class, we start building upon their Climbing Skills.

We pride on ourselves on re-enforcing your Tumble Tots and Gymbobs Movement Memory, so that when they are climbing, whether in our setting or not, they understand and know how to complete the movement safely.

Climbing requires a Tumble Tot or Gymbob to use their cross lateral development skills and these skills are continuously developed as they make their way through their early years journey.

A climbing journey starts with babies spending time on their tummies, reaching a hand to the opposite foot, or in fact crawling. It then develops so that when climbing one of our frames, a Tumble Tot or Gymbob will climb using the opposite hand and foot as they execute the movement.

Last year’s Children’s National Activity Week was a huge success and we’re already looking forward to 2024’s event – look out for announcements on our social media pages or in your newsletter over the coming months!

World Book Day®

This year World Book Day® is encouraging children to ‘Read Your Way’

It’s never too early to introduce children to the fun of reading, and families and friends have the magical power to start children on a lifelong reading journey and adventure!

Reading for pleasure remains the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success – more than family circumstances, parents’ educational background or income1. Despite this, recent research has shown that reading enjoyment is at its lowest level since 2005, with more than half of children saying they don’t enjoy reading in their free time2

Families and friends play a hugely important role in influencing a child’s attitude towards reading, affecting whether a child feels supported and sees reading as a hobby that is playful, relaxing and fun, or a tedious chore that they have to do. That’s why World Book Day is encouraging children to ‘read their way’ to discover the fun and playfulness of reading in all its forms with the help of their loved ones.

World Book Day® wants children to take charge of their own reading experience, by choosing exactly what, how and where they want to read, free of any pressure and expectations from adults. There are so many exciting choices to be made when it comes to reading; from a snuggly bedtime story or a quick flick through a book held the wrong way up in the middle of playtime, listening to an audiobook in the car or using lines from a favourite story in day-to-day chores. Helping children find favourite books and ways to enjoy them will support them in developing a lifelong reading habit. By celebrating the multitude of reading options, World Book Day aims to show children and families that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to reading - it’s a unique journey and adventure!

Families can play an amazing role in championing children’s choices, by reading together and allowing children to choose the way they want to read. World Book Day have created six tips to help families read together, encouraging children to read their way and develop a lifelong habit of reading for pleasure – give them a go!

 Listen to books being read aloud

 Take books home to read

 Choose the books THEY want to read

 Make time to

read

 Ask for ideas on what to read next

 Have fun reading!

World Book Day’s online hub for families, www.worldbookday.com/families, is also packed full of engaging recommendations, activities, and advice to support sharing stories together as a family – not just on World Book Day, but every day of the year. For early readers and little ones, head over to the “Share a Story Corner”, with short video stories including ‘Elmer’ that are easy to fit in around busy schedules and include helpful tips for reading together. There are also fun activities to help create play opportunities for families around the books.

As always, the charity is also working with lots of exciting partners this year and World Book Day authors will be taking part in various events to engage with children across the country and spread the fun of reading!

World Book Day 2024

This year, the charity World Book Day® has unveiled an incredible selection of £1 books that are waiting to be explored by children and their families. Selected by children to ensure that they are relatable and align with their interests, this year’s £1 books feature creepy crawlies, dinosaurs, superheroes, jellyfish in space, a sausage roll named Greg, and familiar favourites like Elmer.

Using their very own £1 book token, children across the UK will be able to choose one of these amazing £1 books – for free – at bookshops, bookshop chains and participating retailers up until Sunday 31st March. £1 tokens will be distributed through schools, early years settings and partnerships. You can also download a single-use digital token from the World Book Day website. Visit www.worldbookday.com

Healthy Habits Start Here!

6 top tips to support your child’s gut health brought to you by children’s nutritionist Lucy Upton and Biotiful Gut Health

More than ever, the gut microbiome is in the spotlight as an early life factor that can have a profound impact on children’s long-term health.

An imbalance in the gut bacteria (too much unfriendly bacteria) has been linked to diseases such as colic and constipation, and more recently, studies have shown changes in the gut bacteria are also associated with obesity in children.

Below are some simple steps to improve your child’s digestive health:

1. Focus on fibre – when last surveyed, the average intake of fibre for children across all age groups in the UK was below recommendations. Fibre is fuel for beneficial bacteria in the gut, so step back and see where you can sneak some extra in. You can find fibre in fruits, vegetables, grains, cereals, nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.

2. Include foods that contain live 'good' bacteria for your child's gut. Like Biotiful Gut Health Kids Kefir packed with good bacteria, calcium, made with all-natural ingredients and no added sugar. Perfect for breakfast, to pop in the lunchbox, or as a snack.

3. Be careful with highly processed foods, there are clear differences in the gut microbiome of countries with diets higher in these foods, compared to those where they are not a regular part of the daily diet.

4. Prioritise prebiotics too – whilst all sources of fibre are great to include, certain foods are particularly good at feeding the friendly bacteria and the good news is these include foods your child may well already enjoy – oats, bananas, garlic, apples and leeks are all examples of great prebiotic foods.

5. Encourage activity – physical activity is well recognised to support many dimensions of children’s health, including digestion, but research has also shown active kids tend to have a healthier gut bacteria. Aim for at least 60 minutes of moderate or vigorous intensity physical activity a day.

6. Get in those zzz’s – sleep is increasingly recognised as a factor related to gut health, with a relationship evident both ways. The quality of sleep has been linked with the diversity of the gut microbiome and vice versa! For children 3-5 years aim for 10-13 hours a night and for 6-12 years 9-12 hours.

Biotiful Kids Kefir available in two flavours: Strawberry & Banana; Peach & Pineapple. Find us in ASDA and Sainsburys.

Party Time!

Celebrating 20 years of muddy puddles!

It’s hard to believe that it’s 20 years since PEPPA PIG first appeared on our screens to delight our little ones and to commemorate this amazing milestone, we spoke to Marianne James, Hasbro’s Vice President Global, Licensed Consumer Products. Marianne explains some of the reasons for PEPPA’s enduring appeal to each generation for pre-schoolers and tells us about some of the exciting events and product launches planned for the year.

 What are the main reasons for Peppa’s incredible universal appeal to both preschoolers and their parents over the last 20 years?

Since PEPPA PIG first debuted in 2004, the show has been consistent at delivering compelling storylines that pre-schoolers and parents across the globe can relate to. From learning how to ride a bike to going on a family vacation and everything in between, PEPPA PIG’s storylines reflect universal experiences that families go through in their everyday lives. Recently, the brand launched a brand-new tagline – ‘Let’s Jump In!’ – reflecting the powerful kid confidence Peppa instills in pre-schoolers all around the world. As the first best friend of many, Peppa encourages kids to treat every first step as a new adventure, from the everyday to the epic.

 How has Peppa been able to adapt so well to changing consumer habits and behaviour over two decades?

We treat our consumers as our north star for everything we do. We’re dedicated to diving deep into the wants of our multi-generational fan bases, constantly putting ourselves in their shoes and jumping into the next pair to truly understand the current needs of our audiences. What has tremendously helped us do so is our advanced data analytics and consumer insights capabilities. Through this state-of-the-art system, we’re empowered with knowledge that helps us deliver the stories, play and experiences that matter most to families.

Peppa has a huge year of celebrations planned. What events are you particularly looking forward to?

In Spring 2024, international superstars, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, will join the PEPPA PIG franchise as guest voice stars in an episode from the brand-new, 3-part PEPPA PIG Wedding Party Special where dress maker Ms. Leopard (voiced by Katy Perry) and Mr. Raccoon (voiced by Orlando Bloom) assist with the preparations for the first-ever wedding seen in PEPPA PIG. In the episodes, Mr. Bull and Mrs. Cow surprise everyone with their wedding announcement and with one day to prepare, everyone rallies around to make it memorable. We can’t wait for families to jump into the fun and watch the exciting upcoming special!

33
Europe’s first PEPPA PIG Theme Park in Germany

This year, PEPPA PIG will be the first preschool property in the UK to enter the immersive sector through PEPPA PIG: Surprise Party, which will feature an engaging interactive theatrical storyline, branded F&B offering, dedicated retail space and exclusive merchandise. For PEPPA’s 20th year, we’re also opening Europe’s first PEPPA PIG Theme Park in Germany, along with a second North American location set to open in Texas, alongside its already successful Florida attraction. What’s more, PEPPA is making her way to tour Spain this year for the live show, “The Adventures of PEPPA PIG.”

Can you tell us about some of the new products planned to celebrate PEPPA’s 20th anniversary?

We seek partners that can match the high-quality tone and style of the series, while aligning with our company values. Consumers can see these types of products shine through in our 2024 collections in celebration of PEPPA’s 20th anniversary.

For example, we’ve teamed up with Trotters London, a childrenswear and accessories brand focused on sustainability and charity work, to create a quintessential PEPPA PIG-themed children’s clothing line. With JoJo Maman Bébé, the popular boutique mother & baby brand, we’re launching a PEPPA PIG children’s apparel collection of day, outerwear and swimwear that puts a special focus on detail and embroidery. Additionally, we’re working with Peers Hardy, the leading specialist watch, clock, jewellery and gift group, to create stunning PEPPA PIG-inspired jewellery.

Beyond Hasbro’s line of innovative PEPPA PIG toys, such as the popular PEPPA's Cruise Ship Playset and

Left: Peppa Pig - Mr Raccoon voiced by Orlando Bloom & Ms. Leopard voiced by Katy Perry

Bottom: Peppa Pig - Ribbed Top & Flares by MORI

PEPPA’s Waterpark Playset, we work closely with industry-leading partners to expand the brand’s toy portfolio. With toys and games at our core, we put “play” at the heart of everything we do, and we want to continue our mission of delivering these experiences to fans everywhere. For instance, we’ve been working with TOMY to expand our GROW WITH PEPPA collection through all-new products that kids and parents love, including Toomies’ PEPPA’s Activity House, Pull Along PEPPA and PEPPA’s Nesting Family. Our learning range continues to expand as well, thanks to our long-time partner, Trends, which has created a diverse range of top-quality toys, gadgets and gifts, such as the PEPPA & Friends Piano and Shop with PEPPA interactive toys. Additionally, we’ve had the pleasure of working with LeapFrog to create the LeapFrog PEPPA PIG’s Big Day video game console, a video game console that allows learning to be fuelled by a child’s natural urge to play.

We’re proud to work with our long-time costume partner, Disguise, to create a toddler costume of PEPPA PIG’s brother, and other characters which gives little ones the opportunity to jump into PEPPA PIG’s world and be a part of her family. I think costume play goes deeper for kids than dressing up as their favourite characters. Dress-up allows kids to practice their social skills, giving them the confidence to communicate and play with others!

Finally, we’re super excited to collaborate with Audible to launch the first-ever PEPPA PIG podcast content – a first for the brand. For the 20th anniversary, we plan to bring PEPPA and her diverse playgroup to new platforms with rich storytelling for all family listening occasions whenever and wherever they are.

Take Time Make Memories

Be inspired by Redan’s Fun To Learn Magazines to Take Time and Make Memories

Taking the time to play with your child through creating simple crafts, recipes and completing fun activities is incredibly important for their growth and development.

Redan Publishing’s mantra of Take Time Make Memories is dotted throughout their children’s magazines to signpost the activities that support this ethos and to prompt grown-ups to join in.

The benefits of taking time to be creative with children are widely recognised and listed below are 5 key reasons why Redan continues to develop original and fresh ideas for their readers.

1. Self-Expression

With creativity, there is no wrong answer, offering children a chance to express themselves and increase their willingness to explore and experiment. It also fosters mental growth in children by providing opportunities for trying out new ideas.

2. Self-Esteem

Working on a craft or recipe not only provides children with time-out from everyday stresses but when they see what they have created, it provides them with a great sense of achievement, boosting their confidence, mental health and well-being.

3. Fine Motor Skills

Grasping paintbrushes, chalks, whisks, rolling pins, or any tool required for creative activities, helps children develop fine motor muscles.

The Early Years Foundation Stage framework states, “Fine motor control and precision helps with hand-eye co-ordination which is later linked to early literacy. Repeated and varied opportunities to explore and play with small world activities, puzzles, arts and crafts and the practise of using small tools, with feedback and support from adults, allow children to develop proficiency, control and confidence”

Department for Education: https://help-for-early-years-providers. education.gov.uk/physical-development/fine-motor-skills

4. Literacy

Creative tasks positively impact speaking and reading as well as listening and understanding. When children make or bake, they enjoy talking about what they’re doing, whilst learning new vocabulary from their grown-ups, “now it’s your turn to stir up the mixture”, “do you like the texture of the clay?” Following verbal instructions also means they are growing their listening skills.

5. Quality Time

Children love to spend quality time with their family and the activities within Redan’s magazines facilitate opportunities for bonding and creating lifelong memories to cherish. You can talk about what you think, feel and care about whilst you are crafting, baking or cooking together. And as an added bonus, children are away from their screens!

8 expert tips to beat the school bugs!

Help protect your family’s immunity

As a parent, daily school routines and work commutes can be a stressful time, not only is there lots to prepare, but we are also mindful of our little ones picking up those dreaded classroom germs. No parent wants their children to miss out on school due to being unwell, and many cannot afford time out of their busy schedules to take care of them. Luckily, there are plenty of things parents can do to take preventative action and help ensure the whole family stays resilient and 'fighting fit' for school. Here, Dr Jenna Macciochi PhD, immunologist and mum of two shares her expert tips on maintaining immune health.

Expert immunologist tips:

 1. Prioritise prevention: Minimise your children’s risk of falling poorly by practicing good hygiene habits. Encourage them to regularly wash their hands, sneeze/cough into their elbow or cover their nose with a tissue to help reduce exposure to germs.

 2. Get plenty of rest: Ensure you and your children get sufficient sleep each night, as rest is crucial for a strong immune system. Prioritise a consistent sleep schedule to support your body's natural defence mechanisms.

 3. Balanced nutrition: Embrace a diet rich in fruits, vegetables with plenty of plant fibre, healthy fats and protein which provide your family’s immune system with essential nutrients.

 4. Stay hydrated: Proper hydration is vital for overall health. It helps keep airways properly lubricated with the right amount and consistency of mucus to prevent infection, which is particularly important as our children start playing sports and games again during term-time.

38

 5. Support your defences with Sambucol: Incorporate Sambucol into your family’s daily routine to fortify your immune system. Its rich blend of black elderberries, antioxidants, vitamin C, and zinc provides essential nutrients to help safeguard your health, especially during back-toschool season. And it tastes great too!

 6. Manage stress: Chronic stress can weaken your immune system, making you and your family more susceptible to infections which can be easily spread, especially if your children pick up a bug from school. Curate your own toolbox of stress-relief techniques such as meditation, breathwork as well as engaging in hobbies that bring you joy.

 7. Exercise regularly: Incorporate physical activity into your family routine, as it can enhance your immune system's efficiency. Even moderate exercise, such as walking or cycling to school, can boost your body's natural defences.

 8. Stay home when unwell: If the inevitable does happen and your children do fall unwell, be considerate of others and ensure your child is kept off school to avoid spreading germs. Use Sambucol to help.

As a family we take Sambucol, an immunity supplement range featuring the antioxidant action of natural black elderberries combined with ingredients such as *vitamin C and zinc.

Have you been introduced to R129?

What you need to know about the newest car seat safety standard

The R129 car seat safety standard is designed to simplify the selection process and further protect our children, so there’s a few key considerations with R129 car seats to be aware of.

R129 is considered the safest standard, with rigorous side impact testing for improved head and neck protection. It requires children to be reward facing for longer, until at least 15 months old. As parents and carers, the most significant change you’ll need to be aware of when it comes to selecting a car seat is that it’s based on your child’s height alone, which means it should be simpler to get the right seat to suit your child’s development stage.

How parents are feeling

To better support parents, Graco recently undertook research with Mother & Baby, First Time Mums and The Mum Club, talking to a wide range of parents about car seat safety standards and their experience of travelling by car with their children. What’s clear is that no one is in this alone.

Only a quarter of readers of Mother & Baby are confident they know what the different car seat safety standards mean, 81% of followers of First Time Mums admitted to feeling nervous taking the very first car journey with their baby, and not just that, 40% of them felt anxious.

S.A.F.E Journeys

Graco has proudly been keeping children safe in its car seats for over 60 years and now, to help parents and carers understand and easily remember the R129 standard, Graco has brought new meaning to the word safe.

S – Size of your child.

R129 car seat compatibility is measured by the length, or height of the child.

A – Advanced Side Impact Protection.

It is standard that all R129 car seats must have side impact testing. R129 car seats have improved reinforced frames to protect the child in the event of a collision.

F – Fitting formulas

Ensure the car seat fits your car.

E – Extended rearward facing

Extended rearward facing until a minimum of 15 months old. At Graco, we recommend rearward travel till 4 years of age for the best protection to the child’s neck and spine.

42

R129 car seats

At Graco, child safety is the number one priority, and the brand carries out rigorous testing to ensure all its products meet and exceed the highest safety standards. That’s why they’re proud to have an extensive range of car seats tested to R129 standards.

Here’s two of Graco’s most popular R129 certified car seats – both offering extended rearward facing to four years of age:

Graco SlimFit™ R129

Graco’s much-loved car seat is the only car seat you’ll ever need, suitable from 40 to 145cm (birth to approx.12 years), built to adapt and grow with your child.

Graco Turn2Me™ i-Size R129

This parent-favourite 360º rotating car seat makes journeys effortless. Suitable from 40 to 105cm (birth to approx. 4 years), the one-hand spin means getting your little one in and out of the vehicle is easier than ever.
