Mark Oliver Everett és 1991­ben alapított együttese, az EELS 2022­ben jelentette meg legutóbbi, sorrendben tizennegyedik stúdióalbumát, Extreme Witchcraft címmel. A csapat több mint húsz év után újra együtt dolgozott John Parishsel, akivel egykor a nagy sikerű Souljackert készítették. Az új album dalai egyaránt szólnak kis­ és nagyszerű dolgokról, halandóságról, bágyadt Los Angeles­i méhekről vagy lehetetlen időpontban becsöngető postásról. Az estét a lendületes francia rock­blues­ duó, a The Inspector Cluzo nyitja, akik már több ízben bizonyították a hazai közönségnek, hogy ketten is tudnak legalább akkora zajt csapni és olyan fergeteges hangulatot teremteni, mint egy teljes zenekar.

Mark Oliver Everett and EELS, the band he founded in 1991, released Extreme Witchcraft, their latest, fourteenth studio album in 2022. After more than twenty years, the group could work again with John Parish, with whom they once recorded the highly successful Souljacker album. The songs on the new album are about both great and small things, about mortality and languid Los Angeles bees, the postman ringing at impossible times. The evening will be kicked off by the dynamic French rockblues duo, The Inspector Cluzo, who have already proven to the Hungarian audience that two can make as much noise and create as much excitement as a full band.

Csengery Dániel színpadi darabja a 2020 ­ as Müpa Zeneműpályázat gyermekopera kategóriájában nyert díjat. A színes, invenciózusan hangszerelt, lendületes, dallamos és fűszeresen harmonizált muzsika varázslatos hatást gyakorol egy mindenre nyitott gyermek szívére és képzeletére, de komplex élményt kínál az opera világát már jól ismerő felnőttek számára is. A Holle anyót a zenés színház sokoldalú tehetsége, Szemenyei János rendezi, a remek szerepeket kínáló darabban kiváló művészek működnek közre, minden adott tehát ahhoz, hogy a műfaj új és régi szerelmesei elmerüljenek e friss darab univerzumában.

Dániel Csengery’s work for the stage was an award-winner of Müpa Budapest’s 2020 Composition Competition, in the children’s opera category. This is colourful music, inventively orchestrated, upbeat and melodic, with spicy harmonies, and is certain to enchant the heart and ears of an open-minded child, while offering a complex experience to adults who know the world of opera well. Directed by János Szemenyei, a versatile talent of musical theatre, and replete with great roles, Frau Holle features a cast of excellent artists, so there is plenty to keep new and old lovers of the genre immersed in the universe of this fresh play.

A kiváló finn dirigens, Santtu­Matias Rouvali a Göteborgi Szimfonikusok és a Tamperei Filharmonikus Zenekar vezető karmestere, 2022 őszén pedig – Esa­Pekka Salonen első karmester utódjaként – második évadát kezdte a Philharmonia Orchestra élén. A jeles brit zenekar több mint hét évtizede a zenei élet meghatározó szereplője. A hangversenytermek és lemezstúdiók világán túl a 21. századi információs technológia, valamint a közönséggel való kommunikáció különböző módjaival is bátran kísérletező Philharmonia Orchestra remek lehetőség egy olyan innovatív előadó számára, mint amilyen Santtu­Matias Rouvali. A budapesti koncerten a finn nemzeti klasszikus, Sibelius csodálatos 5. szimfóniája mellett Beethoven és Bartók egy­ egy műve hangzik el. Az est szólistája, Baráti Kristóf Bartók romantikusan szenvedélyes és szecessziósan dekadens korai hegedűversenyét adja elő.

Finnish maestro Santtu-Matias Rouvali is chief conductor of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, and began his second year as principal conductor of the Philharmonia Orchestra in the 2022–2023 season, succeeding Esa-Pekka Salonen. For more than seven decades, the Philharmonia Orchestra has been a dominant force in the music world. The distinguished British orchestra, which is happy to step outside the world of concert halls and record studios, and boldly experiments with the possibilities of 21st-century information technology and audience relations, is a great opportunity for an innovative performer like Santtu-Matias Rouvali. The programme of their Budapest concert includes the Finnish national classic, Sibelius’ magnificent Symphony No. 5, as well as a work each by Beethoven and Bartók. Bartók’s early violin concerto, marked by a Romantic passion and an Art Nouveau decadence, will allow the soloist of the evening, Kristóf Baráti to shine.
