The festivities of autumn and winter, All Saints’ Day and Christmas, are an opportunity to lift up our hearts. Music helps to do this – and to identify with what the holidays are truly about. The audience of the Two Requiems evening can remember the departed by listening to the music of György Orbán and Mozart, while the Advent concert features the Cantemus Choir Family conducted by Dénes Szabó and Soma Szabó, and the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Children’s Choir conducted by Soma Dinyés. At these events, the role of vocal works is dominant, but so is that of the sacred keyboard instrument: we are able to immerse ourselves in the sound of the Queen of Instruments at the evening of Zsolt Máté Mészáros and the Béla Bartók Female Choir of Szeged, and lastly, the star of the Festivities, the Wiener Sängerknaben, performs a bouquet of the most beautiful pieces from its Christmas repertoire.
