Müpa Budapest’s autumn literary programme is even more varied than usual. The Sándor Márai evening – as part of Bridging Europe – explores the Italian phase of the world-famous writer’s career with the help of the best Hungarian and Italian experts, with plenty of Márai texts and music. The representative evening reviewing the life’s work of Imre Oravecz, who turns 80 this year, highlights the unparalleled and multifaceted writing of a legend of contemporary Hungarian literature with the participation of leading actors and pianist József Balog. The Poetry Recitals at Müpa Budapest series presents its latest literary-concert theatre performance, “QJÚB – Unfolding the Cube”, a rich visual experience based on the oeuvre of János Pilinszky and Sándor Csoóri, in a live, projected set by Glowing Bulbs (Kiégő Izzók), with an installation by Szonja
Dorottya
Koltay and musical accompaniment by Platon Karataev. The debut of András Visky, author of the poignant novel Kitelepítés (Deportation), one of the biggest book successes of 2022, promises to be an intimate, stirring and memorable evening.
