Lantana’s Family

sk Brian Kim what makes his Tokyo Samurai restaurant in Lantana different, and he’s going to mention one word first. “Family,” Brian said.

It might seem strange to hear that word used first to describe a restaurant. Most owners — especially one who has 15 years of experience as a sushi chef — might instead point to their tasty menu, worldclass bar, or superior customer service as the reason for their success. Trust us when we say that Tokyo Samurai can brag on all of that and more, but it’s their family atmosphere that has made this place Lantana’s premier neighborhood sushi and hibachi bar. “About 90 percent of our customers are regulars, so we know them and what they like to eat and drink. It’s their neighborhood restaurant,” Brian said.

“Our staff has been the same from the beginning, so it’s a lot like a family.” Tokyo Samurai has been in Lantana for five years. Brian took over as the owner two years ago after owning Mua Sushi in Coppell for five years. He brought his Hibachi Chef and General Manager with him and has received nothing but rave reviews. Tokyo Samurai offers a variety of sushi, sashimi, and rolls as well as options for those who are trying sushi for the first time. They also offer Asian-fusion dishes and the always-popular hibachi fire grill where your meals are cooked in front of you by chefs who want to make the viewing process a fun experience. The restaurant is perfect for reunions, birthday parties, anniversaries, or a fun night out with friends and family. “We are used to what we are doing, and our customers notice,” Brian said.
