Walker and Strike Middle Schools are the two newest middle school campuses at Little Elm ISD. Both campuses opened in August 2020 and were built as a result of the passage of the 2017 Bond Election.
THE COMMONS
Each multi-story campus overlooks the scenic view of Lake Lewisville and the beautiful landscape that surrounds each campus. The interior design encompasses 200,000 square feet and places a strong emphasis on collaboration and flexibility in education delivery.
Each building has large commons areas that serve as the central space with all other areas converging around it to promote visibility and campus-wide interaction. The classrooms in the threestory academic wing have a mixture of movable partitions, a library with an outdoor deck, large science labs, engineering classrooms, and makerspace.
The District has assembled a Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee responsible for analyzing and evaluating long-term facility needs based on growth, equity, and value. A recommendation will be made to the Board of Trustees in the fall, and a vote will determine what next steps the District will take.
