This year’s signature goblet and decanter were designed and hand-blown by the Museum of Glass Hot Shop Team. The bold and vibrant design is symbolic of the artistic energy of the past 20 years, and of the Museum's excitement for the future. Only 50 goblets and 35 decanters were made for this year’s gala. Make sure to purchase yours early! These limited-edition items are sure to sell out.

View the eligible pieces in the Live Auction Preview located throughout the Grand Hall. Use your bid number to purchase Glass Tickets from volunteers before being seated for dinner at 7:00 pm. Only 25 tickets available. The winning Glass Ticket will be drawn at random at the start of the Live Auction. At that time, the winner will select their choice from the designated Glass Ticket Eligible Live Auction items.

2022 CONEY AWARDS

The generosity of our donating artists makes the Red Hot Auction possible. To honor the artists who donated their work in support of Museum of Glass, we are pleased to present three Coney Awards tonight, which will be presented during this evening’s program in the Hot Shop.

Donating artists were invited to cast a vote for their favorite piece in this year’s auction. Each artist was allowed one ballot, and they were not permitted to vote for their own artwork.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE

YOU are invited to vote for your favorite piece in the auction. Just pick up your ballot at registration and peruse the artwork in the Live and Silent Auctions. Voting closes at 6:30 pm, so submit your ballot before dinner!

JURORS

Thank you for your ongoing leadership in the glass community and for helping us celebrate the incredible work on display this evening. TOMMY GREGORY is a Seattle-based artist and the Public Art Program Senior Manager and Curator for the Port of Seattle, overseeing conservation, commissions, acquisition, and temporary art at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Gregory’s work includes bronze and glass sculpture, drawing, and collage, and he has exhibited professionally for almost 20 years. This summer, he held a residency at Pilchuck Glass School.

SUSAN MARABITO is a dedicated arts leader in the Pacific Northwest. Passionate about providing mentorship to artists, collectors, and organizations, she has been a gallery director, gallery general manager, sales director, and gallery-artist liaison. Susan was on the Chihuly Studio team from 2013-2022. She enjoys supporting Museum of Glass, Pratt Fine Arts Center, Pilchuck Glass School, and other local organizations.

RICHARD ROYAL is a Seattle-based artist recognized internationally as one of the most talented glassblowers of the Studio Glass Movement. His sensitivity and natural affinity towards the material reveal themselves within his extensive body of work. Royal’s artistic approach combines fluidity and bold abundance to deliver gracefully attenuated pieces that speak of their elegance and sculptural verticality. Royal was the Featured Artist at the 2021 Red Hot Auction and Gala.
