More than two decades ago, Museum of Glass founders, DALE CHIHULY, GEORGE F. RUSSELL, JR., AND DR. PHILIP PHIBBS set into motion a public/private collaboration for a glass art museum to inspire the creativity of our city and ignite the redevelopment of the Thea Foss Waterway. Thanks to our founders, Museum of Glass remains a beacon for those who believe that art can help transform a community and enrich lives. Museum of Glass now serves as a vital artistic center in Tacoma, and as a must-see destination for thousands of tourists who travel from around the globe to witness live glassmaking and experience the beauty of MOG’s pioneering exhibitions.
