GALA COMMITTEE JUDY HAUTH Judy plays the piano and is learning the harp. She has been a member & volunteer for over 15 years. What inspires me is being able as a docent for the museum to show and teach others what the museum offers through music–making and music history. As a Gala chair fundraiser I can help participate in raising monies that will provide music instruments for schools, special programs, and new exhibits at the museum. Lastly, I do it because it has given me the opportunity to meet many people who are engaged in music and the music industry.
SANDY RADOM Sandy plays the piano, and has been a member & volunteer for 1 year. Having grown up in a music-free home I never paid attention to the potential benefits music can make in one’s life. Now being married to a woman whose life is so intimately tied to music I am seeing how powerful music is in people’s lives. It brings joy and happiness to so many and it is now beginning to move me in ways I never imagined. If I can make a difference in someone’s life through music it’s all worth every effort I put into MoMM.
GALA COMMITTEE ROSEMARIE KUBES Rosemarie plays the piano, and has been a member and volunteer for over 7 years. As a greeter, it is my opportunity to make visitors aware of the advances in the world of music as well as encouraging all the experience handling and playing instruments available throughout the museum, which may stimulate an interest to learn to play! “Music Feeds the Soul”
EVELYN LIPSON Evelyn plays the omnichord, washtub bass, and ukulele. She has been a member and volunteer since 1999. Music is in my DNA! I can’t help it! It gives me great pleasure to see children play music for the first time and want to come back for more.
CAROL CALVERT Carol has been a member for over 10 years. I love the idea of introducing music to youngsters, especially children who have never been exposed to instruments. Music brings joy to the soul! I’m extremely impressed with the interactive rooms.
GALA COMMITTEE FRANÇOISE DAHOD Françoise plays the fluke (ukulele) and has been a member for 6 years and a volunteer for 4 years. I am inspired by what MoMM does for the community, and how I learn so much about music through the staff, the volunteers, the patrons, the concerts, the lectures and workshops offered by MoMM.
MARY JO BAREND Mary Jo plays the flute and saxophone. She has been a member of the New Horizons band for 12 years, a museum member for 8 years and a volunteer for 1 year. Learning to play an instrument has been such a gift to me. It has enriched my life and now I want to share my enthusiasm with others who come to visit the museum.
CLIFF LANGE Cliff plays the trombone and has been a member of the museum and volunteer for 8 years. I have always loved music and have played trumpet and trombone since fourth grade. As a volunteer I have had the opportunity to share the history of music and music making. It is inspiring to see the many visitors who share their love of music, and the joy it gives them.
GALA COMMITTEE BARBARA HONIG Barbara plays clarinet, guitar, ukulele and saxophone. She has been a member and volunteer for 3 years. I think the museum provides a wide variety of high-quality music experiences for people of all ages! I am very happy to be a part of the team that makes it possible.
SANDY GUENDERT Sandy plays the mellophone and clarinet. She has been a member for 9 years and a volunteer for 4 years. I love music and I think it can make a difference in a person’s life. I love that the museum is bringing music to more children.
JUNE WESTERN June plays trumpet and the Native American flute. She has been a member and volunter for 10 years. I love how music can take away boundaries and barriers. I love becoming one with music, and how many places you can travel to through music. I love watching the faces of children as they get to have those experiences.
